    Best free guitar utility app!
PROS: The chord diagrams are a beginner’s best friend! I often time find myself learning new 7, 9, etc chords. The chord finder is a must for experimenting with different triades and can help creativity and writing. Scales are a god send and decently accurate although I can’t find a 3 per string for the major scale that I use. The app is also FREE. Cons: The tuner could use a touch up. It isn’t the most accurate, mic sensitivity can me an issue in a loud room. The metronome shuts off if you close the app which is annoying but you can set it to prevent sleep which keeps the app open during play/performance. If these 2 things could get worked on… I’d be one happy camper. But hey, the app is free so you really can’t complain! I’d recommend Chordify for jamming along chords to songs, Ultimate guitar for tabs, and D’Tools for practice/checking your work. Show more

    Underrated all-in-one app
Was playing around the App Store to check if there’s a d’addario app or smtn then I found this app. Before this app I previously had 3 apps just for guitar tuning and chord finding. Design wise could use a little bit more but from a functionality stand point, it’s really good! I recommend it! Show more

Chord Finder Tuning is Way Off!
Most of the app seems fine, but the sound of the Chord Finder is about a whole step too high. I can’t find an adjustment except for the tuner, whatcha was actually set at 432. I changed it to 440. No difference. Looks like it’s no longer supported either. Too bad. Show more

    Needs work. Audio problems.
On the first few uses it seemed great. Chord finder and scales were neat. Felt kinda clunky but worked. I actually really liked the metronome and trainer included. However once my phone rebooted, I got no more sounds. On the metronome and the chord dictionary. No audio. I rebooted, closed, reopened, reinstalled and still sounds don't work. Disappointing because it's otherwise pretty useful. Show more

    Tuner is off
Just discovered last night that the tuner tunes my guitar slightly flat, although the app shows that it’s in tune.

    Free but...
Tuner doesn't go lower than A1, impossible to tune the E string on my bass :( Other than that I love the strobe tuner. Can you please fix it?

Useful app with one MAJOR flaw!
For some reason, even in the default setting, the pitch of chords and scales are played 1 whole step higher than the selected tonal center. This needs to be fixed. Other than that, it's a cool app. Show more

    LOST ITS CHOPS
Update: After last IOS update to iPhone 6, microphone must be switched back on in for this app in Settings or tuner will not work. Go figure. Original Post: Flimsy version of Planet Waves Guitar Tools which I used for years. Things from PWGT that would make this a 5 star app: Give an option to or just make a dark background especially on the tuner. The strobe is much harder to see in current app. Wood style fretboard was also better for viewing. As other reviews note, chord finder shows "no chord" for many basic and complex grips, and any chord when you X out an open string. Once a fret marker is placed, that string can not be changed back to open. Hope some of function and style issues are soon resolved. PWGT was an awesome little app; this one, not so much yet. Crashes sometimes
I have been a happy user of the ancestral Guitar Tools for several years, but I recently purchased a new iPod Touch and had to update to this. Sometimes it works fine and other times it crashes almost immediately. The icon starts to expand out to the splash screen and then boom! It crashes. Sometimes trying to open it several times will get it to work, sometimes rebooting the iPad will fix it and sometimes I'm just out of luck. And there is no apparent rhyme or reason. Maybe the recent iOS upgrade will help. Time will tell. Show more

Chord Finder Opens But Has Major Issues
Chord Finder now opens without crashing the app, but it has major, serious problems. It won’t recognize a simple open D chord. If you mute the E (6th) string on most chords it return “no chord”. It is basically useless still. Come on Audiofile (app developer), you guys are way better than this. Back to the drawing board. If you need to hire a consultant who plays guitar and understands guitar chords, I’m available. Until Audiofile can make a working Chord Finder please go back to the old Chord Finder algorithm you were using. Or just go back to the old Guitar Tools app. Or release the old (working) Chord Finder as a stand alone app. Here’s hoping for a fix in the next update soon. Please. Show more

    Chord Finder needs work
The Good: The app no longer crashes when you use the Chord Finder. The Bad: It doesn't find chords it used to. It doesn't even find basic D minor, major, and major 7 chords. Can't clear a string without exiting and restarting the Finder. Previous versions allowed rolling up & down fretboard, now you have to use arrows. Show more

Since the app has no support contact.....
Update: they fixed the crash. Should still have a way to contact them outside a review. Just asking for it...... Original: Like the others have said, chord finder crashes the app. Disappointing.

    Chord Finder's weird.
So the Chord Finder works now, but I can't select open strings. Also as a test, I selected a C#m, which was then displayed as "no chord". All said and done, I prefer the Chord Finder of the old version. Show more

    Chord Finder Crashes
I've had this app for a while, and it's been very useful....and even though I preferred the layout before the update, I can get used to it. What I can't get used to is that the chord finder doesn't work, it crashes every time I try to open it. Please fix this, and consider changing the layout to something closer to what it was......then this would be a "five-star" music app. Show more

    Update ruined this app
The older version of this app looked way better and it worked great. This version looks terrible and crashes when the chord finder opens. A real step in the wrong direction. Show more
