Great platform for launching song ideas
This app is truly versatile and ranks with Suggester as a fave for chord progressions. Even supports midi export. On my wish list is importing midi files. (Please, please, please.) Would also be nice if it supported midi out and worked as audio unit. Very reasonably priced, considering the expansive potential. Show more

    Incredible tool for composers!
Hard to believe that an app that has been around for so long is still so useful. As a songwriter working on a musical this is just what I needed. The only disappointment for me was that the audio export is mono. It doesn’t look like this app is getting new feature updates, but I would love to see stereo export! Show more

    Best Available App
With Chordbot you can compose music from scratch. It’s an incredible production machine. It also runs in the background of all other apps. Amazing app I’ve used for years.

Amazing App! Needs a pro version
Great for creating song starters. Excellent if you need to quickly make songs for film, television, and or online content. Would love to see a pro version where you buy download more packs of different styles and user templates. Show more

    Raw Idea Generator
While some the interface is not perfectly intuitive, this app still deserves close to five stars for its simple utility when you want to explore chord progressions and modes before exporting ideas into a DAW. Love this app! Show more

    why no 444hz?
while i was pleased to see 432hz available, why no 444hz? it stops at 443hz? honestly i dont know why just about every single music apphas to make it so hard to tune to whatever frequency we want, it really makes the whole internet conspiracy theory about 440hz seem substantial when every single app makes it just about impossible to use anything else without lagging from pitch shifting etc. i really hope the chordbot developer can make 444hz available, that would be great and make me happy with it. besides the occasional crashing and losing my work, ireally dolike chordbot and think it is really great, but i do want to use 444hz and yes, 1hz is an audible difference to me and the 443hz sounds out of tune with my guitar tuned perfect 444hz. i recommend anyone trying 444hz tuning standard, it makes everything feel happy and enriching somehow, whereas both 440 and 432 leave me feeling depressed after a while. 432 feels natural and like nature but in a way, dull, while 440 sounds mechanical and like machinery more than human music, i find 444hz is just about right, not so far from 440 that you have to relearn how to sing yet just brighter enough to feel really nice and positive. Great Song Start
I’ve been using this app to create chord progressions for my latest songs and it’s incredible. It makes the process so much easier. It includes all the instruments and rhythms you need to help bring your ideas to life very quickly. Just think it up, lay it out in Chordbot and then export to your DAW (as an audio or midi file) to start creating your song. Show more

    Great useful app, but bugs
It’s a great app, useful for quick putting together a song, for practicing or jamming. But an annoying bug in latest IOS (pretty sure this worked in the past): I can no longer Rename a project, which means every new project that I create overwrites the previous one that was created with the same default name. Can this please be fixed? Show more

    Still Snowballing I See ?
This app used to be incredible. I’ve been using the pro version for a couple years across different devices. It’s still great, actually...until you’ve spent precious hours (that you simply can’t be wasting), on a piece you needed; and it suddenly reverts all the way back to that godawful tealbossa or whatever that seizure-inducing song is. And that’s it. It’s gone. People waiting, you’ve neglected important things to get this song started and have nothing to show for it. Reverting to the song that comes with the app is new. Last time the app would just crash and I’d find out that even tho I had saved it, the song was gone anyway. Really frustrated. I just paid for the pro version (for the 4th time because it wouldn’t restore my purchases) in order to simply save it. What a ripoff! Please tell me I’ll be refunded?? Show more

    Like lego for song structures
It is deceptively simple, but like lego, you can build so much. Contrary to other apps, this one focuses on getting a big picture, from chord progression to overall mood. Like lego, you are limited by the lego pieces, but they are so you can build anything with it. The nice part is it’s very to hear how the pieces work, even if one doesn’t understand everything, they kind of connect anyway. This is why it’s great for sketching, or even stumbling upon ideas. I imagine someone with a lot of familiarity with music theory can be a lot more intentfull, where as someone with no idea whatsoever can build things by trial and error, just like you’d build a car in lego, will be easier than handled steel and rubber. One of the best song writing/producing apps
I use Chordbot for a while now and it’s awfully useful for setting up an entire song quickly. Once the basic arrangement is complete , I just export the midi to a DAW and build on the arrangement in the DAW. I often end up using the piano parts in my produced songs. I would love to see an audio recording feature so I can lay down vocals when inspiration hits or when I don’t have access to my computer. I hope the developer will take time to update this great app with features like intros and fills and much more styles and patterns. I’d gladly pay extra for the update. One thing I noticed is that the app seems to crash more often on the iPad than the iPhone. But those are rare occurrences though. Overall, an incredible tool! Show more

    Very groovy
Great app for creating chord progressions and boosting music theory knowledge. Would love to see a tuning option for A=444. That would make it 5 stars for sure. Also if you could export a pdf chord sheet = bonus stars. Show more

Doesn’t save more than one song
I have been using Chordbot Lite for a few months and I decided that is it time to pay for the full version. Mainly I got to the point where I needed to save more than one song that the Lite version provided. I gave this app a low rating because no matter how closely I follow the user manual, I can never save more than one tune at a time. That was the whole point of paying $4.99 for full service. Big disappointment for me. I could have saved the 5 dollars and just kept using the free Lite version. The app developer could do much better. And should, if they are going to charge for services promised but not delivered. Otherwise, it’s a great app. I’d be happy to rate it 5 stars if they make the necessary corrections. Thank you. Great App!
This App is a great for creating backgrounds parts for playing along with on your guitar or other instruments, and singing. When is a new version coming out?

    Bleikr Sound Approved App
Intuitive interface, encourages experimental compositions. A basic knowledge of music theory is helpful, but not needed.

I would give it six stars if I could
I love this app. I am a musician and it gives me a portable way to quickly audition chord progressions and substitutions in a detailed but mostly intuitive UI. It pushed me to try more exotic chords that would otherwise be too complex for me with a paint or guitar. For non-musicians, I can see this as a great app to feel their way through some music without having to know how to work it out on a piano. It’s also a quick way to lay down a simple backing track to play an instrument on top of. Show more

    Very, very, very useful. UPDATE
6 years after the below was written, it's still a gem. Plus useful to demonstrate chord changes & structure to others. Continued thanks. Many of them. -------- I've had this app for a long time now, and it's just huge. All the obvious great factors - being able to quickly experiment with progression, ability to use complex chords, tweaking the bass w/ slash chords, midi export and audio copy to use and elaborate structure elsewhere... As for the negative reviews, yeah, more styles would be nice, and if you don't write in anything related to the included styles (or have no imagination), or if you don't write/experiment chordally (or have no imagination) then you'll have issues. This is NOT a magic ba song creator app, nor is it BIAB. It IS an exvellent mobile sketchpad for development of song structure. AND bear in mind the voicings for a chord within a style vary based on what precedes them, in terms of both chord value and slash/root. As a result the resultant implied melody in the upper registers can be tweaked in various ways. It's also often useful to split sections of a given chord (say, a 4/4 Cmaj to two 2/4 Cmaj with different slash values, or a closely related chord). Not a BIAB level of control, but how much did you pay for BIAB + kit, and is it in your pocket? And, it's useful for just getting a feel for progression and variation, an educational factor that can be viewed as a bonus or as the core feature. ---- I WOULD REALLY like to see a couple even simpler styles emphasising the progressions alone, with/without percussion/arpeggiation/bass (or only bass). That would be lovely for practice and broader prograssion work. --------- But (have to say it, though it takes the emphasis off what I'd like to see added) a very solid 5 as is. - KD Jones Show more

    Great sketch pad
This app is super useful for sketching out chord progressions, or fleshing ideas out into longer songs. It has been very useful to me for many years now. Only thing that it needs is iPhone X support! Show more

    Best songwriting tool ever!
Seriously, this is awesome. The only thing that would make it better, and this doesn’t subtract any stars, is if there was a keyboard representation of the notes in the chords so you could more easily visualize how the non-root notes of the chords are progressing. Of course you can transfer it to a DAW for this, but it would be nice for the writing process. Show more

Great Tool, but can be Buggy!
I bought this app last week. I like it a lot. Lots of chords to experiment with, and that's great, but I have one problem. When adding another chord to the song structure, it changes other chords along with it! That's a bummer. This happens almost every time. I have had to save after every chord addition. Why is it doing this? Please fix it and five stars for sure. This also has some nice sounds without having to go Midi and that's a plus too! Oh and a way to quickly undo would also be a plus. Thanks for your quick attention. Nebben Show more
