    Great companion to Guitar Pro
This is a really helpful app. I’m a drummer and song writer and this app makes it easier to write a song and then practice the drum parts at various speeds to learn them. One complaint I have though - the app lets you write out music “notes” which looks really useful for capturing riffs etc. Why is there no drum capability here though? It would be great to be able to quickly jot down a drum beat in the phone when I’m at my drum kit. Otherwise this is a great app! Show more

    Bare Bones At Best
The most minimal version of guitar pro offered. This is more of a reader than an actual tool to create on the go. Unfortunately not going to be using this the way I intended. Show more

    Horrible, they lie about costs
The app in order to access all songs requires an account to a song book. When I went to create it, it had a monthly fee of $5 when the app only costs 7 up front it now costs $5 a month on top of that. Show more

    Underwhelming
For a paid app that is a glorified reader, this should display audio tracks like the desktop

    Too bad you can’t edit
The windows version outshines this. Main use is just as digital sheet music.

Bugs/lack of options make it unusable
My main gripe is that for whatever reason when lyrics are added, they are on top of the staff in the app, even though they are at the bottom of the staff on the desktop version. That makes that section entirely unusable. lots of cool features, but the issues outweigh the usefulness. Show more

    It works
It works for me on my iPhone, I like it, for sure. But considering I paid for this app, I wish under the settings there would be an option to change the entire guitar key flat or sharp for either self-tabulated or purchased pro tab files. Sometimes I only want to play songs with string tuning of Eb on my standard-tuned guitar or I decide to try playing back my tabs in a different key. And don’t tell me to learn my modes!! It’s not asking for much, pweeease Show more

No Way to Write Music for Drums
On the desktop version, you’re able to write and edit drum tracks. You’re unable to do this on mobile, and it’s not stated anywhere (at least not clearly) that this feature is missing. Ended up wasting $7 on this, and there’s no way to refund it. Unhappy with this lack of feature and clarity. Show more

Great app, a few minor things could be improved
Overall, the app does everything I need it to and I have no real complaints, definitely deserves 5 stars. A couple things that I think would be a better experience and make things easier though: 1. The default tab when you open the app. It goes to the locations tab. I don’t ever use the songbook, so it’d be cool to be able to set it to always go to “On my Phone” by default or have a setting where you can choose your default tab so that it opens to the place you want to be. 2. With the speed slider - some of the songs I write or learn are complex enough that being able to fine tune the speed to exact percentages would be awesome, because when I’m struggling with a song I like to do really small increments to work my way up, like 1-2% at a time. Overall I use the app regularly and it’s super useful! Show more

My iPad is more powerful than my laptop
So why release an inferior, limited product on iPad? Release a fully featured and functional version on the iPad already!

    Needs work
I have guitar pro 8 for windows and Mac, this software works fantastic. The iOS version is not consistent in speed and also does not accurately represents the tabs. I’ve had notes to be in the display to be garbage especially around showing harmonics or other notes tightly together. I also have notes that it’s hard to tell if the notes are in vertical alignment or not. Show more

    Just not a Good App
App is so limited and you have the option of buying tab from My Songbook- oh, goody. My biggest beef is missing files. Right now I’m getting emails to upgrade and I’m thinking, is this app worth $25? No, definitely no. So Ive printed out all of the tabs that are of any value to me. Show more

Missing Essential Tools and Poor Support
Guitar Pro is a classic tool. On The computer, it rocks. I don’t care that the sounds are cheesy. I don’t use it for that. What I care about is that it needs to show both TAB and standard notation. Also, the user should be able to input the score in tab, or standard notation. Both of these features, do not seem to be available when you are using the app on the iPad or the iPhone. The mobile device help section states that both these features are available, but I couldn’t figure out how to use standard notation, so I contacted Arobus music and they have confirmed that these features are not available, even though their site displays that they are available for the iPad. I’m not very good with standard notation, but some of the books that I am learning from only have standard notation, so, to learn how to play it, I need to input the score in standard notation and then have it kick out tab for me. When they fix this, I will change my review to give them five stars. This really is my only complaint, but it’s a really big one. Show more

The iPad version is a good practice tool
I like this product but one problem for me is that the fingerings placed in GP 8 do not transfer to the iPad file. If this is an error please let me know as having the fingering information is really helpful. Perhaps there is a way to do this but I haven’t discovered how. Thank you Show more

Please refund my money. Not many songs featured
I bought this thinking that there would be a lot of songs with full tabs. There are hardly any. Glad I didn’t sign up for the subscription! Not a good use of money. Please refund my money. Wouldn’t recommend this app to any serious musician Show more

    Useless
After purchasing for use on my iPad, I’ve been trying to import tabs, scores, ANYTHING for a few months. Exchanged multiple eMails with developers who can’t seem to tell me how to import files. I wasted my money...don’t waste yours! Show more
