This app is very simple to use, and creates ringtones that are clear and detailed using the music/media you might own. Will not access copywritten content, but you should be able to find a plethora of stuff you have that it will work on. This app is over 5 years old and is starting to breakdown. Thankfully I found a workaround since it stoped working in Catalina. Open the preferences and uncheck the "automacilly import into iTunes" - This will allow the create button to work again. Show more

Catalina left it dead on arrival. The create button no longer works. It's useless if your Mac is up to date.

it's not working so sad

Ringer has allowed me to take any of my songs in iTunes and create the ringtones I want for anyone and everyone on my list. Had major hesitations about purchasing a “ring tone maker” after some of the reviews I’ve seen on them and their compatability with apple products, specifically newer apple products like my Xs. However, worry not. Things work very well. It took a little playing with it to understand fully how to create and upload the new tone to my phone, but once that was figured out things work very smoothly. I highly recommend “Ringer Ringtone Maker” to my fellow iPhone users. Show more

Using macOS 10.13 and Ringer 2.0.5 it doesn’t sync anything. Total waste of money and time. Hasn’t been updated in ages. I think the develper gave up. Save your money. Apple has blocked and "protected" all of the songs, so you can't use them for ringtones even thought they were purchased on iTunes or Apple Music. The app says they are "protected" and won't let you attach them to make ringtones. Just wasted $8. Show more

I was able to make some very nice ringtones with this app about 3 years ago. Now, it no longer works. It takes you through the process, but in the end, your ringtone will not materialize. You would think they would update the thing or something. I am extremly disappointed. Show more

Had my new mac in storage for 6 months when i set up and updated ,ringer wont upload edited songs to itunes.

Naively thought the one bad review may have been an anomoly, being the other two were five stars. It's true, pay for the app, use it, and you think you're taking clips of music you've already paid for and saving to iTunes, which then is supposed to load to your sounds section in settings like the app says... Sync your phone to transfer said clips, and alas you have nothing loaded on our phone. Have a iPhone X too. All else I can say is to steer clear... Show more

how in the hell can you sell an app that doesnt work ???? FOLKS DO NOT BUY THIS APP ,,, the creators should make it so the tone can be saved in a folder other then ITunes which no longer has !!!!! I was more than ticked at iTunes for losing this ability. I saw the reviews here, downloaded it and BAM… I was able to create my favorite tune that I use for my wife’s ringtone in seconds and drop on my phone through iTunes. This also has some builtin tones that are pretty good. Show more

This is the same great app it has always been, however it should prompt user for a save location to store the tone I know Apple’s iTunes update has changed the workflow of Tones. But the Ringer app currently makes it look like your new Tone has been sent to iTunes by having it pop up in the background after clicking Create. When in reality your tone in being saved not in iTunes but a library file under “com.pixelresearchlabs.osx.ringer" Show more

Works just fine. Very easy to use and quite flexible for creating 30 second or less ringtones.
