    Great App!
I've been using this app for over a decade and love it. Does just what I need when I have to edit some audio: take tracks apart, put pieces together, adjust the sound, etc. I recommend it highly. Show more

Excellent usability, quite musical, and top-notch support!
I have been using Sound Studio since the very first version. It has been my go-to editor for anything which was not multi-track since I first started using it. Then Felt Tip added multi-tracking...if so much of what I do wasn't already in Pro Tools I might not have bought my PT perpetual license! This app is almost certainly the best deal in MacOS audio! And absolutely top-notch support, too. I have found two bugs over the last dozen or so years and both were fixed within days of sending in the core file and stack report! Show more

    Highly recommended audio editor
Intuitive and easy to use, has a great assortment of filters and features, handles a variety of file types. Always first choice for use with video.

    Great App, Exactly Enough
Sound Studio does all that I need. It provides a rich set of features, but not so much that it overwhelms you trying to get things done. Highly recommended. A little M1 love is all that it needs. Show more

    workhorse
For many years Sounds Studio has been my go to app when I need to edit, EQ, or modify digital audio (or audio from videos). From studio output to phone recordings, this app does it right and is easy to use. Show more

    My Go-To Stereo Editing tool
If you do any sound work you need this app. I love this app. Clean UI, does all the stuff I need. It may not do FLAC or auto-split files as one reviewer complained about, but it’s not designed for that. You use this when you want do do some basic sound editing quickly; and when you don’t want to open up RX or PT or such to do your quick edit. If you need to edit mono, stereo (I never use it for more than Stereo although I think it will do more tracks).. this is the bomb. I also use iZotope RX6 but that’s usually so much overkill. This app is much faster for opening and editing files. I can usually open up something in this and make the edit and re-save it faster than it takes RX to just open!!! Amadeus may have “more features” but I hate the UI of it and I never use those features. If you do any kind of professional level sound work, this is more than worth the $30. My only “complaint" is a feature request: an option for storing sound device IO configurations when using this wtih multi-channel audio interfaces. Basically, I’d like to save Audio Input/Output settings and have a simple popup to switch to those settings. I’d also like a few things like shortcuts for saving your favorite or most frequently used Plugins. Show more

    always reliable and easy!
i have been using sound studio for longer than i can remember - at least 6-8 yrs. ive never had any issues with it through the years, albeit quite basic use of the features, generally. i really appreciate that the interface and controls have remained constant so my familiarity keeps this app useful and funtcions are rapidly executed. Best Audio Editiing App. Period.
Sound Studio is best app to edit ausio files. I have been using this for years. I just found latest vesrion in Mac App Store. It's perfect but I still want some enhancements; e.g. more preferences to customize settings, especially change the default settings to save the edited clips. I would like to bring back maginified glasses to enlarge/reduce audio clips, on each end of scrolling bar at bottom left. Show more

    Worked with Catalina
I had some major problems with a sound editing program I used for years. Catalina blocked it from saving even though it is listed on the Mac Ap Store. A lot of the audio programs on the Ap Store don't seem to have been updated. Sound Studio worked for editing an MP3 file, converting it to Mono and reducing the bit rate so the file was small enough to email. I really just need something for simple voice work. Show more

    Quick Solid Audio Editer
Allows me to quickly break a church service down into separate tracks and to edit the sermon audio on a very detailed basis quickly and easily. Highly recommended.

    It Works! It's User Friendly!
I have purchased Sound Studio 3 times over the course of several years, just because I want to support the developers maintain this GREAT!!! and simple audio recording & simple editing software. It is so simple to use. The interface is clean, clear, intuitive. The sound wave graph clear and sharp! I use this program on a daily basis, trimming out parts of a lecture, removing coughs, and raising volume, if necessary. Planning to buy new version to try out the Tempo filer. I have Adobe Audition, but only use it a couple of times to remove some of the hiss and "crackel" in 50 year old lectures.AndI am still struggling with the learning curve and interphase of Audition. I have recommended this software to so many people! It's the best! Show more

    Yahoo for MP3
I produce several podcasts and use Sound Studio for the almost-final production. With all the filters and easy, easy editing tools Sounds Studio has been our go-to - easier and more flexible and more Mac-like than Logic Pro X, for example. But we have had to then take these files and convert them to MP3. Now with that feature built in to Sound Studio 4, it's the complete solution. I've been using Sound Studio for music production elements for radios and DJs for years and years and now use it for podcast production. It's really a well-thought-out app and now even more so. Thanks for the awesome update! Show more

my absolute favorite 2... track audio editing application
This is my absolute favorite 2 ( mix down ) track audio editing application. there are some things I wish it had but I still can't stand using anything else and now with the addition of MP3s back into the mix which used to be an option way back when 10.6SL, my only complaint would be that I can't get the updated version over there as well. It would be nice to have support over on Windows as well but I highly doubt XP, 7 would get support. Between this and audacity I barely use anything else other than this, apart from multi track. There are a couple of UI design decisions that were taken when everything went uni-tasking full-screen, where a separate window got combined on to the main window which can be disabled temporarily if you need the extra space or don't use markers. By far markers are my most favorite thing about this, although it would be nice to have a toggleable second window for them as well as the overlap. Way back when I used to run PowerPoint and record with this software on my iBook. Now I usually run this with keynote, parallels, or a multi track app, well also multitasking with two browsers open at the same time. Show more

    It just works!
I've been using this app over the years to digitize hundreds of tapes I have lying around in storage. Sound Studio makes it extremely easy to capture audio, manage levels, and do minor editing corrections/fixups. It is exactly the kind of app you would expect on the mac -- it does what it is designed to do extremely well, the UI is intuitive, and it looks great. Highly recommended! Show more

    Doesn't Work Well On Mojave
Been using Sound Studio for over a decade without any issues. Just updated with a fresh install of Mojave and Sound Studio. Its not working very well. Very slow on zoom in and zoom out. Waveform is not drawn after zoom out. Selection boxes don't clear after content is deleted. Erased markers aren't removed. Show more

    disappointed
I recorded a couple lp’s using this app was satisfied with the results. I have 750 lp’s to digitize and need something that will split tracks easily and convet to flac files. Then the app crashed after a recording, and then nothing was easy. The help page and FAQ’s didn’t solve the issues, and there was no way of getting assistance other than emaiing the developer. So I have moved on to Audacity, which actually provides more tools and customization and, once I figured out all the details, is easy to use. It’s free. Purchasing this app was $30 down the hole.
