    An on-screen interface worth practicing
On both phone and pad this is a game changer for me. With midi out I can bring my other sound apps and even Mac VSTs to life. A few things I would change for a paid Pro upgrade: 1 moving chord boxes position on-screen. 2 Adding more chord boxes to the vacant screen real estate on the pad version 3 Keeping only and changing the chords you set up when transposing. Not recording chords when you go to a minor key. 4 Modal support 5 Allowing all the positions of easy chord type 6 String bending and finger vibrato 7 Midi learn for key boxes so you could change chords with a keyboard and strum with the other hand. MPE capability. 8 Watch support to change alternative chord selection Show more

Regretted my purchase after 30 seconds.
An expensive toy compared to the other great IOS instruments. No midi in. Sounds are mechanical. Hasn’t been updated in a long time. An average Review point of 4.6 is what got me. Feel bad for supporting this product instead of products from developers who work hard on creating and maintaining their excellent IOS products at the same price. Show more

    Made me cry ?
I have spent all of my life wanting to play the thoughts in my head through a guitar, but I could never grasp playing. I have tried so many DAW’s and plugins to mimic guitar sounds through MIDI, but none ever felt right, and now I come across this... When I connected this app to GarageBand and recorded a tune, I cried - not even going to try to act “manly” about it. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Show more

    STAGNET !
THIS DEVELOPER SEEMS TO HAVE LOST INTEREST IN THIS APP. WHY HASNT HE CREATED ANOTHER ROW OF BUTTONS FOR ADDITIONAL CHORDS OR GIVEN US ADDITIONAL OCTAVE POSSIBILITIES? WHY CREATE SOMETHING THAT IS SUBSTANDARD? WHY IS THE DEVELOPER SO INDIFFERENT? Show more

    Awesome for strumming!
Does strumming very well! If it had a solo mode it would be soooooo awesome! And a looper to loop the strumming and then solo mode to solo over the recorded strumming....that would take it beyond 5 stars! Show more

    Guitarism
I'm really impressed. This is the most complete and realistic guitar app I have found. It has everything I could think of and lots more. I think I love it. Sounds great too. Show more

    Really close
This program is great fun, and is good for rock, but the lack of higher voiced chords, like 13ths and 11ths, limits its jazz usefulness. Also, I can find no way to control which inversion of the chord is to be played. Finally, the limit of 6 chords is a bit stifling. However, the guitars sound great and play great. Even with the above limitations the program is worth the investment. Using Guitarism to control other programs is reason enough to buy - I have made some wicked sounds. Make the program a little more flexible, and this app is 5-star all the way. Show more

Lots to Love But Seems Orphaned
Pros: great sound. Lots of toys! And when I show my guitarist friends the secondary-chords feature, their eyes pop. Cons: Could really use full CAGED-system support for playing chords in other than first position. You can get part of the way there with the transpose feature, but but I don’t think most of us can make it work on the fly. So you can't, e.g., do a live riff that starts with second-position E and ends with first-position E. Also, without scales implemented it’s not as suitable for playing lead as the GarageBand smart guitars, even though they have a more limited sonic palette. The two things above stem from the bigger worry about this app: it seems moribund. There have been no major upgrades in functionality for two years now, as of late 2017. I do see the developer is releasing a flurry of bug fixes lately, so maybe things will start moving again. I’d be perfectly happy to pay for CAGED chords and scales as in-app purchases. Show more

    Fantastic!!!!
Especially using 4play!!! And should be improved chord number!!! Now we can see 6 chords But usually we can cover all the song with 8 chords!!! Tilted chords system is very complicated when I play songs!!! Please gather 2 chords box there!! Then we can make it easier and comportable! Very nice app it is!!!!! Thank you!! Show more

    Love it!
I love this app! I use it with ThumbJam's classical guitar sound, and play in a flamenco style. I have tons of guitar apps, and nothing beats this. The only thing I would add is the ability to add more than 6 chords at a time without switching. Then it would be perfect. Show more

    Sounds Incredible!
This app sounds incredible! I can't stop playing it and haven't picked up my real guitar in days. The midi out capabilities add tons of creative possibilities. It's a great way to layer the guitar sounds from Guitarism with synths like Animoog. Update 10/10/16: Still the best virtual guitar app for iOS! The built-in effects continue to impress as does the overall feature set. When paired with guitar effects apps and Audiobus, this app gets even better! Show more

    Chord Options
This is a very useful and fun app, though you could offer more of the chord options

    Easy fun and realistic!!!
Garageband's virtual guitar frustrates me to no end due to the guitar not being anything remotely like a guitar in real life. This app is very realistic and is a great tool for anyone that wants to learn from scratch or improve skills and maybe even get rid of bad habits! Show more

    Great app!
Best guitar app ever, coming from a drummer with a music app addiction. Absolutely killer for laying down guitar chords for your musical ideas, jamming live, or just plain fun. Anyone can play this app. Pop up the electric guitar, throw some distortion on it, and you are on the edge of shred. Highly recommended, and I haven't even mentioned the great connectivity options. One wish: that the other 12 chords were easier to play, especially in a live situation. Show more
