    Easy Editing
I've been using this app for years -It's reasonably fast, simple to use, and gets the job done. Never encountered a bug. It is also updated frequently, something you don't find much in lite/free versions of apps. I don't need the pro version for what I do, but if the company started charging for the lite version I would definitiely pay for it. Show more

    Good Softweare but Lacking Features
I bought Amadeus Light to replace cD Spin Doctor, which no longer exports tracks correctly for import into iTunes. I found Amadeus Light lacking in it’s auto marking capability, having to resort to manual marking and lack of a direct way to transfer tunes to iTunes (you have to export tthe files and import them into iTunes manually) and no connetion to a music data base for album and track identiication. I found that Vinyl Studio does all of these easily and is now my convertor of choice. Show more

    Crashes and loses recordings
30% of the time Amadeus Lite crashes after I’ve recorded something and while I’m saving the recording to mp3. Have lost some critical recordings this way. A total waste of money. I’m back to using Audacity which is extremely reliable. Show more

A great app, no bones about it.
I do voiceovers for a living. With Amadeus I am able to record using an extrenal mic, edit, and send the finished mp3 back to my employer. They email me the script, I email them the product, I only have to go there to get paid. Thanks Amadeus! Show more

    Beautiful Audio Editing App!
I have been using this program for years and it is so very useful for my audio editing. I’m a DJ and there are times I need to make certain tracks longer or shorter for my mixes. Not only can I edit clips with precision, but I can also change the pitch speed to make the song faster or slower. I also appreciate the various options for file saving as well. For all that you can do, and the overall simplicity of the functionality, this program is well worth the asking price in my opinion. Show more

    Still Rockin'
Hi. I'm back again to review this latest version of Amadeus Lite. I've had some time to play around with this audio editor, so I know quite a bit more about it than I knew the first time I reviewed it, and I am no less impressed. In fact, I would give this thing ten stars if I could. It's still just as VoiceOver compatible as it was the day I first bought it, which is completely awesome, and I found out exactly how well it records. I like to arrange songs on my keyboard and record them, but until I started using Amadeus to do that, my recordings all were crap. However, now, my music is CD quality thanks to this pretty dirt cheap audio editor. I am thoroughly impressed. Furthermore, I figured out that you can start with a sound and add more sounds to it. You could create radio dramas and the like with this thing, which is amazing. I've done several sound design projects with this audio editor just for fun, and they all came out so wonderfully that I'm starting to wonder if I could make a living doing audio editing, just with this app. After all, it's a lot of fun to use. I also love the fact that I can use Amadeus as a sound file converter for pretty much any format I need. That feature really comes in handy when I download huge mp3 files and desperately need to save on disc space. Converting them to AAC usually does the trick, and Amadeus is superb at this. The only thing I can't seem to figure out how to do with Amadeus is to mess with the channels in a sound file. I can convert a mono sound to play through both headphones, but other than this, I really can't do much right now in the way of deleting channels or panning or anything like that, at least, not with VoiceOver. Maybe I just need to play with the app a little more to figure that out. Also, I haven't yet tried to burn CD's with Amadeus, although I'm sure I can do it successfully. I just haven't had the need for that feature yet. Over all, I will say that I am still very impressed with Amadeus Lite, especially this version. The developers got rid of that terrible bug that was preventing the previous version from opening files under Snow Leopard, and I am very thankful for that. To the developers, you have created probably the best piece of audio editing software on the Mac platform. It surpasses Apple's programs like GarageBand in its ease of use and accessibility, and that's saying a lot. To anyone looking for a good, cheap audio editor, look no further. You can buy this with a 50 dollar iTunes gift card, and you'll be so glad you did. This is the best, probably the only audio editor you will ever need, so don't be on the fence. Just buy it. You'll thank me later. Show more

Great for conversion, and making extremely quick and basic trimmed files

5 Star app but I'd give 4 Stars since I can't use it on my MBP-Retina
This is a 5-star app. It is excellent in what it does, and from a usability perspective, it is great. It just freezes on my MBP-Retina laptop. In my old MBP-Air, it worked beautifully. Please fix this. Show more

When it works, its great. When it doesnt work... I'm up a creek w/o a paddle
I use this program for school lectures, cutting, editing and creating audio learning. They're recorded on my iPhone as voice memos, transfered to my iTunes as 3 hour lectures, then cut down to 30 minute - 1 hour long repetetive audio clips. The app was great the first week I used it. But now it's having a hard time recognizing my bluetooth headphones and it won't play the lectures I've been working on. I thought that it may have been the computer, so I deleted the app. I reloaded it and got the same results. (Currently I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 otherwise known as Snow Leppard. Next week Apple is upgrading my computer for free and I'm scarded stiff that the app won't run on Lion, according to the other reviews I've read) Hopefully the makers of this app realize its needs a tweek or two, cause I really think its a great tool for audio learners. Current version does not work on Lion - crashes on startup
Don't buy this until an update has been issued for Lion. This application, which worked every well on Snow Leopard, is now useless!

    Crashes Repatedly on Lion
On Lion, any attempt to open a file (WAV or AIFF) crashes the application. It was great when it worked but now that I need it again it's failing me.

    Fantastic!
The main reason I bought this app was for recording LPs and minidiscs to my Mac Mini. As far as I can tell it is flawless. I just recorded a 74 minute long minidisc recording of a live concert. After it was done, I found and marked the end of each track, then used the "cut to new file" function and saved each track as a new file. There are many file types to choose from. Every function was fast. My mini has 8 gigs of RAM, which probably helps, but there was no waiting for any processing. The volume adjustment (drag the line between left and right tracks up and down) was perfect for hiding the few seconds of me playing with the line levels at the beginning of the recording. Worth the money... no doubt about it. Show more

    Simple and Straight-forward Audio Editor
I bought this app because I needed a simple, easy-to-use app to do some minor edits to some voice-over recordings. While I haven't explored the feature set beyond my specific needs (trimming clips, normalizing audio, format conversion, etc), I have found it quite effective, fast, and stable. So far, I haven't had to even look at the manual to find out how to do something. There is a Pro version available for sale through the developer's website that has some features that may come in handy in the future. Hopefully some of those features will make it over to this version in a future update. Show more
