    Empowering and wonderful app
I have used this app for three to four years. It takes time to learn, but in the world of complex music creation apps and complex music editing techniques, it is rather simple. It has facilitated my doing compositions and arrangements on dozens of different pieces, all on my iPad. Allows you to export to PDF and as MIDI and as MusicXML. Definitely need an Apple Pencil to make use of this app. Love it. Thank you! Show more

    Usability is terrible
I have the full unlocked everything and using this thing is super painful. You want to create a lead sheet with only a treble cleff? that's going to take some time and probably going to the forums to ask for support. in general the buttons you want are there for everything but good luck finding the one you want. this app just needs a major reorg. Needs Metronome OFF option
So annoying and distracting not to be able to turn the metronome sound off when recording! Makes it near impossible for me to notate from MIDI keyboard. I never use a metronome when playing piano. I don't want to play like a robot, tick, tick, tick. Otherwise the app is great. Show more

FIX THE BUGS! Has the developer abandoned us?
Why do ties not sound as TIED in playback?!!! This is a simple thing to execute. Encore in 1992 did it on a Mac classic II and this can’t be achieved after people have been complaining about it for years!? Come on! Not to mention the dead silence and lack of updates. Get it together!!! Show more

Cool app, but save menu disappears before I can click anything on it.
Like the title says, App is great. Unfortunately when I open the save menu, it disappears before I’ve had a chance to click anything.

    Interface Color
Not sure when it happened but it must have been recent but the score interface has changed to a transparent white, which makes it very difficult to see what attribute you are selecting. I have tried changing the score color but it makes no difference. How can I change it back to the original blue? Show more

    Symphony Pro
I cannot say enough good about this scorewriting program. Everything I need is in it, intuitively laid out and easy to learn. It also includes the ability to write multiple lyrics. I have used numerous score writing programs for years! This is my favorite! Show more

    Don’t do it
I have given this the old college try. It is incredibly inconsistent and I’m to the point of wanting to pull my hair out. I’m moving on to something else. It had so much promise but I think they tried to do too much too soon and it appears they have now abandoned it. They really should take it off of here so that they’re not taking people’s money for something they have no intention of supporting. Show more

    Abandoned
Revising this and dropping down to 1 star. Updates have not and are not being done. There’s a quirk where the save and close window won’t remain open for long enough to select an option. This makes it useless. It only pops up every now and then, but again- you can’t close and work on anything else other than what’s open. Useless, in other words. I’ve reached out to support and have not heard back. This was quite some time ago. No updates, no support- abandoned. It’s a shame, too. The handwriting recognition is really good. But the interface is clunky and bloated. I switched over to StaffPad after much consideration (particularly cost), and have no regrets. Other than the cost. Move on and find an app that gets updates and offers support. Show more

Handwriting tool purchased not showed up.
I bought this application on my previous iPad. In order to be able to use my Apple Pencil to write a note, I bought the handwriting tool. The problem that I had I couldn’t see the hand writing tools as the purchased item on my symphony app on my new iPad,So I ended up tried to click restore and purchase,I saw the status that the purchase is being processed. I tried to see on the purchased item (to cancel the purchased because I have bought it already), but I couldn’t find it. Please fix this issue so I won’t be charged for the handwriting till I already bought before. Show more

    Promising, versatile, but possibly abandoned?
Symphony Pro allows many types of notation input, including virtual piano keyboard, and, with a separate plug-in, handwriting recognition. However, numerous bugs persist, and it appears that the application may no longer be supported. The user forum suffers from a lack of input or response from the developers. I’m not convinced it would be a good idea to invest time and money on this application. Show more

    Crashes
This is a great app in theory but it’s no good to me when every bit of progress I make charting something out or transcribing gets deleted once the app crashes. And it happens to crash a lot unfortunately Show more

I’m sad to say this is the best notation app on iOS…
I am disappointed to say that this is the best notation app on iOS. The others just don’t offer full features like this app does but this app is just a buggy mess. All the menus close themselves, the transpositions don’t stick properly, you have to reassign the key signature with every instrument you add after the start up page. You have to pay the price of the app to use the handwriting tool. I’ve been using it for a week and I’m already fed up. I’d rather bring my desktop to work to use MuseScore. Jeez. Show more

    My favorite music notation app
I started using Symphony Pro when it was offered as version 1. I recently upgraded for Apple Pencil support and wish I had done so much sooner. I mostly copy lead sheets for transposing to different keys. For this fairly simple task, Symphony Pro with Apple Pencil is nearly perfect. Recognition of handwriting for note entry is outstanding. I don’t know why recently offered handwriting for chord symbols entry is not so great but I am sure it will improve. Since I started using Apple Pencil with Symphony Pro I can do note entry with chord symbols and transposing in half the time as any other program I have on iPad, mac or pc. Show more

    Project menu disappears
App is useless if you can’t use the project menu to close or load projects. It appears for a half second then disappears. A money down the drain.

Appreciate the minimal sharing of information, and it’s great for iPads!
I’ve used Symphony Pro for a few years. It is simple to use and great for teaching. Btw, thank you for not sharing too much of my information. I don’t download apps anymore without looking to see what is shared. Show more

    Good Program, Weird Flaws
I like the handwriting tool and the features make this a very useful app, however, if you use a mouse at all…. It becomes impossible to close the window of your project and open anther without shutting down your ipad. The window closes before it is physically possible topress the save or close button. Why? Bugs
It’s quite an useful app! But it won’t let me safe the document and go to the main menu (the save window keeps disappearing). I suspect it happens after I make some transposition. Please fix this soon! Thx. Show more
