Not what I expected, wish I could get a refund.
I saw a YouTube video on the new features and it said “stacked loop recording”, I assumed this meant you could keep recording takes on a track and it would create a folder of tracks that I could choose which take I wanted (one of my favorite features of Logic Pro X) but I don’t see any way to do that. I’d request a refund but I guess it’s my fault for misunderstanding, now I have another DAW I probably won’t use. UPDATE: I figured out the multIple takes thing, it’s a menu item when you press and hold on a waveform in the track area, I now gave it 3 stars, it’s pretty basic, I think GarageBand has more options EXCEPT multiple takes so if that’s important to you then this is way cheaper than Cubasis 3 which also has this option. By the way, 4Pockets makes some fabulous plug-ins, I’ve bought quite a few. Show more

I keep coming back to this one
And it makes me smile. I’m a longtime 4Pockets fan, since the Windows Mobile apps, and will continue to be one One slight bug, sometimes I press play and it doesn’t. I know it’s an older app, and 4Pockets has produced a series of great apps since this one, but I am convinced Meteor is worth some bug-fix love...if not a full on update The transport controls stop responding when the app is put into background then back to the foreground The workaround is to reload the same project, but it would be very cool to not need the workaround. Don’t
There’s literally no reason to buy this. It is a time capsule from the 90’s. The developer is currently producing some excellent AUv3 plug ins that are light years ahead of the technology in this DAW. If they were to bring this into the 21st Century based on their current batch of plug ins it would be a contender. But definitely not as it is. Look at MultiTrackStudio, Auria, or Cubasis. Show more

A powerful DAW with unique features
Meteor does what all other IOS DAWs do, and some things that the others don’t. The track markers are very useful for navigating around a project. Also, the fx implementation is very good. Show more

    Nice!
I own many DAWs on my Ipad, but this one I’ve settled on for my main DAW. I think the effects are Fantastic, and it's fairly easy to use. The appearance could be a bit better. It looks a little Cartoony. Show more

    Waste of Money
You can't import files into this app, nor can you "open in" another app, even though the option is clearly there. When you tap the selected file, it doesn't give you a list of apps in which to open, it just closes. The only thing you can do is plug in your iPad to your computer, and then download the file onto your desktop, then transfer it to the app you want, etc...takes away from the whole idea of having a portable DAW. I'm might as well just use my computer, it then I have a ton of other audio and video processing apps that I'd like to transfer my files. I'd give it five stars for all the other functions, but this is pretty big. It's like saying I really like my new Porsche but if they could just give me a fourth wheel. Otherwise, your Porsche sits in the garage and looks pretty. Show more

If I could give 0 stars, I would
It's been 2 months, and still nothing. I emailed the devs, and they just told me to 'check my software and to make sure the Dropbox app is updated' which both are up to date. The devs haven't responded to me, since. I'm someone who invested money into this company, and they haven't helped me at all. Waste of time using this app. If errors occur, the devs won't help you, even though it's their job. Waste of money. Show more

    MIDI doesn't function properly
I really like the software. I have friends who use it and it works well for them. For some reason mine will not function properly. I even reinstalled it, but still it doesn't work properly. It's when I try to use IAA mostly, iFretless apps and such, but it has been frustrating. I've been back and forth on this and can't overcome it. So, I'm stuck with GarageBand until I can resolve it. Three stars for now, If it would start working I would rate it higher. Perhaps some better video tutorials that cover more issues? Show more

No longer compatible with iPad 4?!?!?!
4Pockets has fixed the non-working issue on older devices...so my Review on 2/22/17 is now negated. My thanks for having resolved this issue.

    PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!
This is (was) my favorite DAW and I recommended it to everyone. This is the DAW I learned on and would give it 10 stars if I could but the latest update makes it useless with the older versions of iPad’s. I have a hardware interface that uses the 30 pin connector on my 3rd generation iPad, I have purchased all the in app purchases and it works so well on the older versions on iPad’s. I can’t believe you took away the compatibility with these iPad’s. every penny I have spent on equipment for this DAW is useless and I guess I will be going over to Cubasis. I Loved this app so much but now I feel ripped off! If there is any way you can make this compatible with the older iPad’s again I will rewrite my review and continue recommending to all my musician friends. I know technology moves on but this software worked so well on the older versions of iPad’s I just don’t understand why you would cripple it for those pads. If Cubasis can support them I’m sure you can make this work with them again. I am begging you to please fix this flaw and make this the great app it used to be! Show more

    Powerful recording and mixing tool
    Does everything claimed and more.

Does Everything I need it to do
I am a long time cubase desktop user. It was a breeze going from that to this. At does just about everything you would want to track record to do. I use this with my rig pro duo with no problems. People are amazed at the sound quality of the recordings when I tell them my set up. My only issue is that the dropbox integration seems not to work. If it did, this will be a five star review. Can't use this
This app is useless to me...works when it wants to..sometimes when I am recording a track and hit any other function like undo a horrible loud white noise kicks in and I have to reboot the app. Very annoying Show more

    Wonderful MIDI Recorder/Editor
I have been looking for a solid, MIDI recorder that will record piano playing, including incremental pedal data. So many other MIDI records for iPad do not record incremental pedal data or even pedal data at all. This one does! This app has a really nice interface. I love it! Show more

    Wish i could use it!
This app has a great interface, unfortunately you can not record more that one audio track when recording a midi track. so for my live performance application requirement it is useless, when i enquired about any upgrades to this function i was stonewalled, so i do not have much hope that this shortcoming will be addressed Show more

    What's not to love?
Meteor is efficient, easy to use and extremely inexpensive. Download it now or be forced to face a shameful image of cheapness every time you look in the mirror (and any other reflective surface you may encounter) for the rest of your life! Show more

    Powerful studio App
The Dropbox integration and the audio editing tools make this one a must-have in the recording musician's app collection!

    Awesome!
Best DAW out there. GarageBand is on the shelf gathering dust now.

    Very Capable
Overall Meteor is a very capable iPad-based Digital Audio Workstation. It is very easy to learn due to it's intuitive graphic environment. If you have worked with any DAW, you will adapt to Meteor very quickly. Sound quality is great, what goes in is what comes out. Integration with AudioBus is seamless and predictable. I have not pushed it to it's limits. I usually get everything done that I need to do in 4 tracks or maybe 6. It's possible that at 10, 12 or 24 it begins to bog down, but I have personally never needed that many tracks so I don't have any reason to think that is the case. My only criticisms are petty. For example, I wish the mode buttons on the top were re-ordered such that the track view and mixer view were next to each other because those are the two that I use the most. Like I said, petty. Another minor "problem" is getting the timing right on your "tap" technique. "Tap-and-hold" vs. "tap" on an item (such as audio clip in the track view) can sometimes be a bit finickey. Again, trivial. For the price, it is impossible to beat this DAW. You have to spend much more to get equal capability from other iPad DAWs. And some, while offering some features that Meteor does not, also do not have many of Meteor's advantages. And those cost a WHOLE lot more. As they say, you can spend more, but you cannot pay less and get this kind of capability. Show more

    So close...
… and yet so far. It's a fair price for a somewhat usable multitrack recorder… and it's very nice for songwriters and guitarists/instrumentalists… but it suffers from old ideas/methods in the MIDI arena. After using the midi editor (a $7.95 bump) for a week I can safely say it is poorly designed. Not wrenched, just slow and… lame. If you want to lay long guitar solos (clogging your iPad with sound files) it's fine for recording, if you can play flawlessly into it with a MIDI controller you'l love it… but as a no-controller midi idea-pad it is just dismal. The MIDI editing tools are poorly thought out and editing without a controller is slow and frustrating. MIDI #CC control is there, but they are labeled and restricted to limited jobs like "brightness" (Midi CC# 74) with no way of changing it… and there are only 8. Yup… 1990's General MIDI. A passe' system at best. Though most "A" level apps will do patch change, Meteor can't save patches or member the synth you used… Meteor assumes you will happily buy their sound files and love working with them (never mind all the powerful synth apps YOU bought) thus the power of complex integration synths is pointless . For all it's efforts to do MIDI… one usually has to resort to importing frozen tracks to keep it straight when one comes back to the file. The recording set up is fine, but the FX sends are very odd and their usage is predefined by the maker to a large extent, the FX are also a tad bland. The single worst complaint I have is there is no way to get around the screen and edit ANYTHING… panning the track is fraught with danger… everywhere you touch is bound to add a ill-placed note, automation, or some other problem to foul up your work. it's not the iPad mini… I can edit JUST FINE in other apps. Still, a good value… much less than others that don't even DO midi… it just needs a rewrite/clean-up/rethink of the MIDI… which is probably not going to happen. (I get the feeling the developer just made it to please himself) Show more
