    Works like a charm!
This was exactly the kind of app i was looking for. I listen to the song in my iTunes, then tap using my trackpac of MacBook, and once i average out the BPM i can set it to save into iTunes automatically. Thanks! Show more

Works great with one intermittent issue
I really like this app, as it provides the ease, functionality and control that I crave. Issue: When I use Turnover to post a BPM value to a track in the Music app, it occasionally interrupts playthrough of the track computerwide for a split second. This is not good if I'm playing for a group. I have not figured out if there is a pattern to this interruption, but it may be related to the 'Play sound with each tap' function being enabled. Great
I had a bpm counter on the old dashboard that no longer exists, and am using this one as a replacer. Works exactly as advertised, easy and to the point. Show more

    A Fine App
This works well for my use. I’ve found bmp finders in the past that calculate automatically and are just way too inaccurate so i prefer something i can tap out myself. I was annoyed with the sounds that this makes when you tap, until i realized that i could change the sounds (i just went to silent). Show more

Perfect for MANUALLY tagging songs with BPM
[UPDATED REVIEW 2016-06-07] Best way to manually tap BPM and save to iTunes. I still use it for every new song. Super easy to use, and an excellent floating player now. Please Do Not give this app poor ratings because it doesn’t do automatic detection of beats per minute! It is designed to do MANUAL beat-tapping; not automatic BPM detection (there are plenty of other apps to do that; none consistently well for all genres). [still true as of 2016 none of the automated BPM apps work very well except for music with a really obvious beat, like EDM] This app is for users who prefer to rate BPM manually, and Turnover has the best interface and mix of features for the job. Could use: [DONE] 1. support for iTunes optional half-star ratings (for users who have it enabled in iTunes), [DONE] 2. option to float the app window over all, keeping it on top of iTunes. Show more

This is a manual app NOT automatic
I’m very upset with this purchase. This app will not autmatically calculate the BPM while the song is playing. The user has to physically “tap” the keyboard as the song plays to figure out the BPM. Definitelly not efficient. I would highly encourge the developer to make the BPM calculattions automatic. Thanks for latest update bugs fixes
The previous version of Turnover wouldn't communicate with iTunes, so it was pretty useless. The new update fixed that problem and now I'm tapping my way through my entire library.

    The Only Way To Go
I"ve tried most (maybe all) of the automated tempo analysis software. They are not accurate for many types of music. Beat tapping is the only way to go. Turnover is the best beat tap app around. Show more

Perfect for making my workout playlists
Just tap it out, and the rules in the program dump it into either the "warm-up," "workout," or "cool down" playlists for me. Awesome!

easy to use; I get to control the BPM
I would like an autodetect for a head start, but I also like that I am not "locked in" to such a number determined by someone else. I can set a BPM for certain songs that based on whether I am walking or running, so it is versatile and can be individualized to my needs. The metronome feature is a plus. Show more

    Well designed app
After I was no longer able to use the marvelous old iTunes-BPM Inspector by Blacktree, because it wasn't compatible with Lion, I tried pretty well every BPM product out there. This one did the best job overall, at a reasonable price point. The only complaint is that it won't deal with values below 20. As a dance DJ, we deal in "bars per minute" rather than beats per minute, and many pieces of music are under 20 bars per minute, so the app doesn't support those. Fix that and it's a five-star app. Show more

I love this app & would give it more stars if I could.
I've long worked out to music, but without giving a lot of thought to BPM. A few months ago I realized that synching my workout to a certain BPM to keep on pace - or using a BPM-organized playlist to help increase my speed - would get more results. I spent far too many hours using various websites to find the BPM of certain songs. Then I found Turnover. Hooray! I can set the BPM for all my music, sort, arrange, and make playlists for whatever my goals are. Turnover is incredibly easy to use. I love the notification function if a song comes on that you haven't yet set; and I love being able to use shortcuts to pull up the app, set the BPM, and automatically return to what I'd been doing. I love being able to zoom through my library with the next-song-20-seconds-in function. It is exactly what I was looking for, and more. You can use it to get BPM rates when previewing songs in the iTunes store, or when iTunes isn't running and you want to get the rate for songs on the radio, etc. To say this helped me revolutionize my workouts is not an overstatement. What a time saver! Show more

    Easy Integration
I've really appreciated this little app so far. It lives up to everything it promises. However, as a computer and music novice, I don't understand why a digital counter embedded in the program can't tell you what the BPM is without the user having to tap it out? Show more

It could be better if it autodetects to give you a head start

    Good stuff!
I too am a runner, and was looking for a program to automate the entry of BPM in formation into iTunes in order to create playlists to suit various workouts. While Turnover does not compute a BPM number, it does exactly as advertised. The program makes it very easy to 'tap-out' the BPM of songs in iTunes library (not limited to mp3 like some other programs) and have this BPM updated into the song file. The program has lots of helpfult UI features to allow you to get through a large number of songs in a reasonable amount of time (I've got over 2000 songs in my library, so the initial task of tapping-out these songs is taking a bit of time). The program has done everything advertised, and has not crashed once! Well worth the small feee I paid for the app. Keep up the good work! Show more
