    No Apple Silicon support
It would be a great app, but after two years since the introduction of Apple Silicon, there is still no native version of Amadeus Pro available. You have to install Rosetta2. At this point in time, this is not acceptable anymore. Aside from the MacPro, Apple isn't even selling any Intel-based Macs anymore. Amadeus Pro would at least need to be a Univeral Binary by now. I Used to Love The Program and Use it Everyday
I used to love the program and used it everyday, but their “Customer Service” has destroyed my faith in these fiends. I used to use Amadeus Pro every single day of my life for my recording business. However, today I felt the need to purchase Mackeeper Pro to make sure my computer was virus free and running at peak performance. Well, Mackeeper Pro blew out my license for Amadeus Pro. I contacted Mackeeper Pro and expressed my disappointment. They immediately refunded my purchase and apologized for the “inconvenience.” Amadues Pro sent me on a wild goose chase within their “support” system and completely and totally failed to restore my PURCHASED program to full functionality. By failing to restore my purchased license they stole from me. They literally took my money and gave me nothing in return. That is considered theft. Terrible Customer Service to the point of theft. My go to app for editing audio
i love how you can scrub the timeline and you can hear the audio. Most or all other apps dont let you do that the way this does. Not only can i scrub but i can hear what im scrubbing through. the fact that i can export iphone ringtones and its just a powerful easy to use app overall. Show more

    Love This App
Simple to use. We have been using to record old cassette tapes with interviews of family members done 40-50 years ago to preserve those stories. Simple to edit the audio files, improve sound quality as long as the tape quality wasn't too bad. Bought this app years ago. Show more

    dependable and deep in features
I've been using this app for maybe 15 years. Some years more than others. I'm continually finding features to address my audio needs. It's always been a rock solid, bug free app. Just today I read a section in the manual explaining how to normalize audio within a file and across files, which is hugely helpful for making background music to my wife's online fitness videos. This is all accomplished with a batch processor saving tons of time. This is yet one of the countless features that does exactly what I need, and saves me time. Show more

    Amazing
I haven't used an audio program that has been this easy and useful ever. I had some expensive vinyl albums to digitize and this worked perfect! The only thing that could make it better is if there would be a way to send the audio to individual files based on the markers. Although the burn to cd does this, the only way I could figure out how to make individual files was to highlight each section between markers and then save the selection... Show more

    Great editor, simple yet powerful
In the grand tradition of Mac shareware, Amadeus is affordable and well supported. I have been using and recomending it for years. Since my go-to pro audio editing program, Peak, has been discontinued, I rely on Amadeus even more, for all my two-track editing. Well designed, well supported, easy to use and inexpensive. Can't go wrong! Show more

    Faithful Friend
Good friends are good to find. Amadeus Pro is a good friend who remains faithful after years of use. Thank you friend!

    Lightweight Audio Editor
I use Amadeus Pro every time I use Mac OS X. I turn on the computer, I launch Amadeus Pro and listen to some music I've edited with it into loops, and do whatever task I feel like doing at the time with the computer. The developer has done an excellent job with customer support also. Show more

How have I not reviewed this?
I guess most of my applications are downloaded from the vendor’s site. But I must leave a little love for the handiest sound editor on the platform! I’ve used this work horse for 5 years without a single regret or problem. Defining easy to use controls and shortcuts is the name of the game for me. I need to cut, chop and deal quickly with audio and kudos to the developer(s) here for making a great go-to app for that purpose. Too many features to mention, but if you’re familiar with soundforge and Audacity, you’re getting a nice little marriage between the two. Simplicity of the interface of Audacity, with the power and intuitiveness of forge. I hope they continue making it better for many years to come. Show more

    Sweet update! Thanks so much!
I love this update! I really, really, really love this freaking update! I’ve been using Amadeus Pro for the past two years now, going on three, and it has become my most-used, most-loved, my absolute favorite third-party program of all time, hands down. It’s just the most fantastic sound editor ever, and this update makes it better in ways that I can really feel. First of all, for anyone wondering, it is still perfectly accessible with VoiceOver. Major cudos to Mr. Hairer and team for keeping it that way. Secondly, although I haven’t yet upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, I hear this update works really well with it, which is a huge relief for me. Ever since September of 2014, I get really nervous about updating my system software, in case Amadeus is rendered incompatible, but although Sierra looks to be quite a major upgrade, like Yosemite was, it will not harm amadeus Pro, especially not now. So, I can get Siri on my Mac without being afraid of losing my audio editor. Huge relief! Thirdly, Amadeus appears to launch faster. Can’t tell that for sure, but it certainly seems that way to me. Finally, that Command-P shortcut… OMG! Where has that been all this time? I’m so glad I don’t have to scroll through a big, long dialog box, just to preview an audio unit. For some reason, I could never remember where the preview button is, but now, I don’t have to anymore. I didn’t even ask for the Command-P shortcut, but goodness gracious, I’m happy to have it! As always, for those of you looking for the best sound editor you can possibly acquire for the Mac, look no further. Amadeus Pro is all you need. And, to Mr. Martin Hairer and company, thanks so much for continuing to care about, and improve, this already excellent program. Show more

Used to love this - but current version is buggy
Was great classic app, had it for years. Frustrated with current version which says it will use my Logitech headset, but then records silence. The OS works fine so its definitely Amadeus. Quitting Amadeus then re-opening, lets it record, but still uses built-in speakers for output, even though Preferences both in App and OS says headset. Also still hasn’t fixed old bug where recordings miss the first few seconds. This has ruined several good takes for me. If they fix these input / output issues, I would definitely recommend, but until then, no. Show more

    Way too unstable for use
Crashes every time I save a file. It’s a pity, because it has a useful set of features, some unique as far as I know, and is affordably priced. But it’s a major waste of time for me to have to fight my tools to get anything done — it’s crashed TWENTY TIMES so far today and will probably crash another twenty times before I’m done… I seriously regret buying this app! Love this!
we use this program to record all our live church services… Works very well, in 2 years only twice did it not record due to technical difficulty, but we run Amadeus Pro as our main recording software with Wire Tap Studio as our back up.. so no problem. the thing I like about Amadeus Pro is that it is a great recording AND editing program for the mac. repeatedly crashes during saves on 10.10 with no response from support
I am a longtime user of Amadeus Pro and for the last several months the app has been crashing consistently when saving. About 80% of the time the save completes before the app crashes, but having lost my last hour of work on a deadline I’m taking a moment to warn away other potential customers. I contacted HairerSoft twice with this issue and received no reply whatsoever. Meanwhile the app hasn’t been updated for a year. I don’t have an alternate recommendation, but save your money and buy something else. Show more

    A Must for Pro Musicians
Need to convert a 24 bit huge lossless file to an mp3 to text to someone? Boom, done. That’s just one of many many uses… this thing is like the Swiss army knife of sound files. This app is killer. Show more

    Amazing and Awesome Audio App
I am in the process of transferring all my live stereo analog Reel To Reel recordings to digital. While this app can do much more, it has met my every need. At first blush it might appear simple but it has incredible depth, including using audio plug-ins. I could not be any happier and am grateful to Martin Hairer for creating this incredible tool. Latest OS upgrade disabled my Amadeus Pro
I am not sure what happened but I was recording some radio stuff for a little while. I took a break and let my Mac update while I got a snack. After the update and restart now Amadeus wont even open. I uninstalled and reinstalled the App but no luck. What gives? Be careful about updates on your Mac. Apparently Amadeus isnt as up to date as it needs to be. Show more
