    The best synth out there
I am kind of a synth app fanatic. I own over 40 of them. Sunrizer blows them all away. I find myself always coming back to this one.

    Still among the best!
I kinda lost this synth in the morass of effects, synths, sequencers, DAWs, drones etc. I came across it again during some desktop organizing and WOW, it hit me as only something spellbinding and new can do! I forgot what a beautiful synth this is. It’s warm, deep and powerful - nice to rediscover an old friend! Show more

    Sounds to create Filmlesssoundtracks
I am a “soundaholic”. This one iOS synth has sounds that I can only describe as being magical. Magic is what writing Filmlesssoundtracks is all about. A fantastic synth at a fraction price, with professional sounds that are truly unique and special. Five stars without a 2nd thought. Show more

    Just get it!
It’s just stupid NOT to have this synth.

    Easy to take for granted…
Since Sunrizer has been around for such a long time, it’s easy to overlook just how nice it sounds. Flexible, powerful, with a host of free presets, it truly remains one of the best synths available on iOS. Show more

    Incredible!
I put this right up there with Spire, Serum, Massive X.

    Can be calibrated
First off, great sounding instrument. No problems at all. The icing on the cake? The tuning can be calibrated so your not forced to use 440. I write music @ A = 432 because it sounds better to me. Warmer, and less harsh than 440. It has become difficult to find synths that will allow calibration. They seem to do everything except that. So thank you thank you thank you! ? Tip: If you would like to play with 432 tuning simply turn the fine tuning knob to -32. Show more

    Among the best
Sounds great - nice to see the recent update. 5 star app all the way!

    Was great; please fix tuning!
I have nothing to add to the rave reviews on Sunrizer: its still sets the standard for iOS synths after more than a decade, it still is rock-solid in performance and in sound, and I still use it whenever I can. Which isn’t as often as I’d like, because the custom tuning has been broken since my last iOS 9 device bit the dust. On iOS 12 and 13, selecting anything other than standard (i.g., 12-tone equal temperament) tuning transposes the entire synth range up by two octaves, and the MIDI transpose function does not work to bring it back down. Thus, no bass for you! That wouldn’t be a complete loss if it weren’t also now impossible to set the root note for non-equal temperament tuning systems. Choosing a root note just assigns C to the corresponding key on the keyboard. So, if I set Eb as my root note for a justly-intoned scale, then touch the Eb key, I hear a note that sounds like C from 12-TET 440. Two octaves higher than it should be. I emailed the dev about this some time ago. I know life is weird for us all as the pandemic drags on, but Beepstreet updates have appeared without this issue being addressed. And yeah, I’m a niche market in a niche market, but I miss Sunrizer’s reliability and incredibly awesome sounds in my music. I can sample it, I suppose, but it’s just not the same. I’m still looking for the synth to replace it for iOS work. SynthMaster One is the best sounding so far, but its interface trips over its own cleverness. Why so few synths on this platform bother with custom tuning is another question entirely, but I sure do wish that Sunrizer could return to its place at the head of my signal chain. Show more

    Keyboard size
Hey Thank you for fixing the scaling issue on iPad Pro 11”. There are empty spaces on either side now but they are fine. Can you increase the size of keys for Large setting as the keys are still too narrow for human fingers? Please see GarageBand keyboard sizes which are most ideal. Also, the keyboard should be locked from scrolling by default at launch. Keyboards are locked in all other apps by default and it is the expected behavior. Cheers! Show more

Sounds great but UI needs work
I’d give it 5 stars, but it cuts off a bit of the top and bottom of my 11” iPad Pro (2020) screen. Should be something easy to fix.

User guide is pretty much useless.
There is no explanation on how to clear MIDI assignments. Furthermore, the user guide apparently refers to an older version that does not have a PREFS button anywhere, but this button is mentioned in the user guide. It has some nice features, but it is really not worth the $9.99 it costs. Show more

Just learning but so far it’s nothing short of amazing
Just started using this synth app today and I have to say that this absolutely blows away every other synth app for the IPad. I own 10 hardware synths and the sounds on this truly rival my Minilogue XD, Roland FA and Microfreak to name a few. I’ll update this review with more of a user realization but right now I am just blown away by the sounds and deep, deep arpeggiator. Show more

    Great with program, changes
A lot of app don’t let you control patch changes with outboard midi. This is a very underrated app.

    The Best
Superior sound quality that can emulate a variety of classic analog synths as well as morphing textures never before experienced by Earthlings' ears. Very expressive with loads of adjustment levers, sliders, knobs and switches available on the main screen plus a plethora of deeper editing screens that are quite easy to navigate with dedicated buttons located across the top of the main menu. Instant gratification via tons of free presets and the developer continues to update with amazing effects and options. It's quite easy to find a desired sound defined by category, manipulate to taste and save to a new folder. This just might replace a set list (if I can ever get all those confounded lyrics memorized). Only a couple of nitpicks at this time: 1) The slide option for the onscreen keyboard being a tad clunky and jittery, but a mute point if one is using hardware controller keyboards as most would for serious studio work. Once a key is triggered on the screen, sometimes you must lift up and touch again with the intention to slide. Yet during semi-quick runs the keyboard often slides a bit, hindering accurate notes. Perhaps I just need more practice. Sure would be nice to have octave switch buttons. 2) No velocity available over MIDI? However the on-screen keyboard does simulate it with the loudest notes triggered when keys are touched closest to the player, softer as the keys are touched closer to the virtual pivot-point. I have tried nearly every iOS synth and this one edges out several others that are narrowed down to my favorites folder mostly because of the immense variety of sounds from the mega lush morphing pads to intense over-the-top distorted leads, plus the speaker melting hugeness capable with this engine; not to mention the ease of further sound manipulation with the well placed and complete set of modulation interfaces. Many hardware synths are jealous of Sunrizer. Show more

    Limiting range
Why can I not play notes above Bb6?

The iPad version is unbelievable, iPhone version isn’t.
Of all the iOS synths I own, this is my very favorite synth, PERIOD! I can’t give it higher praise. The depth and complexity of the tones takes me to new levels of inspiration & creativity. It’s on the WOW FACTOR level to hear it. Today I purchased the iPhone version, and it is NOT a duplicate of this version. What I do on the iPad version is take a patch that I like and start playing with every parameter, and am rarely unsatisfied with the changes. With the iPhone version I can’t get any patch modified or stock to sound 1/10 as good as the iPad version. I hope the developers can do their magic on the iPhone version to get it to be more like its big brother. Show more

    Rather disappointed. Buggy.
I can’t really hear the raved “warmth” of this synth, at least not in the presets that come with it, they all sound pretty harsh and digital to my ear. Since it’s an old app, maybe it was simply surpassed by other apps? Some presets sounds have slight click/pop at the beginning of the sound when playing polyphony (for example “Sensoramic” preset) and tweaking attack in the amp and filter envelopes does not cure it. A bug where initializing the synth (by choosing “Init” from Synth Tools menu) incorrectly displays the mode when it was loaded after a preset which was in ARP mode. It states that the preset is in POLY mode but it plays an ARP, you need to cycle through the modes to correct it. Completely unreliable and frustrating “chord” function. It takes multiple attempts to store the chord, sometimes the previously stored chord is not updated. Frustrating that the chord gets assigned to one of the keys used when creating it, but it’s kinda random which one. For example, if you press keys C, E and G it will (when you’re lucky!) assign this C Major chord at the C pitch to either C, E or G key! ***Update*** the Chord function works but chords need to be programmed in a way that is NOT described in the manual, otherwise it will not work: follow the steps in the user manual for the chords creation BUT then when you are holding the “Chord” button while depressing keyboard keys to be used in the chord you want to store, FIRST release the “Chord” button THEN the keyboard keys. If you release the keyboard keys before releasing the “Chord” key, the chord will not be stored properly. This is not described in the manual (or maybe developer is not aware of this quirk). No clear indication of LFO assignments. Many synthesizers such as Factory, Helm, etc, provide a visual representation of which parameter is controlled by LFO. In Sunrizer not only is there no such indication but on top of it the names of the parameters are not consistent across the synth. For example, the Filter has a parameter and its knob labeled “Cutoff” but that parameter is named “FLT 1 Freq” in the LFO section, which makes it confusing. More sloppy labeling : “>” is a math symbol, should not be used as anything else, especially in a context of talking about values, frequencies, etc. For example, in the Synth Tools menu one of the tools is labeled as “LFO 1 freq > LFO 2 freq” which is confusing as it should mean “LFO 1 freq is greater than LF0 2 freq”, meanwhile what it means in this app is that LFO 1 freq is supposed to be equal to LFO 2 freq. Well, the sign for this has been “=“ since very long time ago! More confusion and inconsistent labeling, this time it’s even described in the manual: “ When SuperSaw is selected, - Width/Sub knob controls the depth of detune, - Mix/PWM knob controls the volume level of detuned sound.” Except there is no knob labeled “width/sub”. If the knobs control those parameters with this oscillator type, why isn’t it clearly indicated in the knobs’ labels? It should be possible to type in exact values of parameters, sometimes it is critical to dial in exact number, which is not possible by turning the knobs, they are not precise enough. No arrows outside on the panel for quick presets browsing, have to dive into the menu. The pull down menu does not disappear automatically when you touch parameters section, lots of unnecessary touches just to close the menu. The arp controls look promising. Cool BMP input method, it’s very quick to adjust, I’m surprised it’s not used by other apps. Show more

    Worth EVERY penny
Of all the iPad synths, this on is in the top tier. You won’t be disappointed.

Incredible tool for incredible sound. The supersaw emulator is exactly what I’ve been searching for. A must have for any serious musician’s toolbox.
