Claims to support SD II format, but the app would not recognize such files, at all. It may be that it will let you SAVE files AS SD II, but it's unlikely that anyone would intend to save as such as old, un-supported format. Anyway, I needed to access existing SD II files, bought this app to do that, and it doesn't. Tried on Macs running latest Monterey, and another on Sierra. Tried saving as WAV, AIFF, and other combos. No luck. One more crucial thing: I emailed the deisgner, to ask if there was a fix, or if I had missed something - AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A REPLY. Save your $. And Apple, if you're reading, it would be nice if you had someone check what you're selling... Show more

I use this app all the time and always does a great job and never crashes

I was looking for an easy way to convert FLAC files to AAC so I could import into Apple Music. I was using some freeware but it didn't support AAC and required opening each song individually. What I really like about this is the setting that allows me to drag/drop a folder into the app and have it automatically add it to my Music library, complete with album art. Show more

I bought this app for one reason. To convert some DFF files but it was unable to. After some searching Pine Player was able to and it didn't cost anything.

The best thing this app does is hang. It hangs after importing CD files. It hangs after importing each track. Force Quit can nudge the app - sometimes - to the next step of the conversion process. But mostly the app just hangs on my miniMac running High Sierra (10.13.6). Two stars for converting CD files to FLAC files and editing tags correctly, although it's a painfully slow tool to use on my system. Show more

I've used this app for the better part of a decade and it is absolutely essential. I use it professionally and for my music library and it is totally indispensable for my workflow. I've been using this tool for about six years, converting thousands of tracks in my iTunes to AAC high bit files. It has always just worked, and worked well and fast, with up to 8 tracks converting at a time. This is a mandatory part of my fave app stack when I load a new Mac. Can't live without it. Show more

I have tried it with 2 WhatsApp voice messages so far and it has worked fast and flawlessly. I converted from .opus to .m4a format for iTunes. If I run into problems I will modify this review. Show more

I’ve used Pro Audio Converter for years. It’s great for quickly converting tracks and can even save the audio from an MP4 video. Customer support, the one time I had an issue, was fantastic. Developer was quick to help and respond. This is definitely one of the “must-haves” on my app list. Show more

Though stated as a supported format, Sound Designer II to .wav fails to load source samples for conversion. The company, MarkVApps won't respond to multple emails and has no support documentation. Buyer–beware from this developer. Dissapointed Apple’s policy allows apps to be sold without checking if they even function as stated in the documentation. I will never purchase third-party software through the iTunes store again. Professional Apple user since 1992! Show more

I'm a professionnal audio engineer, I have over 2tb of sounds I needed to convert to m4a lossless format. The software works a bit at the start, but quickly crash in many ways. Error log is full, the application locks and crash… even worse, now the app doesn't want to encode anything !!! crazy… I think the developper didn't check the compatibility with huge sound librairies and a multi folders… It's really a pain to make it work. I'm really disappointed because the functionnalities are good, multi threading is working. Show more

Simple to set up, then click a button and boom — all your files get converted. $10 is kinda steep for a one-trick pony, but if you want to convert a lot of files without a lot of fuss, it’s worth it. Show more

Just bought this and tried to convert audio from a CD to a file. It kept locking up and I would have to force quit. Never got it to work convertering directly from a CD in superdrive. Show more

Just purchased this app and it is posting an error log whenever I try to encode my mp3’s to any format. I chose the files to go to its original source folder and a small screens pop out asking me to Allow Write Access. I select the Allow Write Access option and I get another screen that tells me that I do not have any write access permission. I am using a Seagate external Goflex to store my music. The Seagate also contains the music that I want to encode. Please help. This is my second day trying to use this app with no luck. Any suggestions would be great. Show more

Five stars through Yosemite, but crashes immediately upon launch when I try to use it with the El Capitan previews. I assume that the author is working to correct that. UPDATE: The author has assured me that he will have an updated version of PAC ready for the final release of El Capitan. Meanwhile, he has provided me with a copy of PAC v1.8.1b which does, in fact, work the OS X v10.11.1 EC golden master. Show more

I purchased this software to replace SoundConverter, which closes down on me. The part of the software that converst audio files works pretty well, although it doesn't do normalization. The part that's supposed to add ID tags doesn't work. There are parts missing and some of the text is truncated. Show more
