I upgraded the video converter for $19.99 and wanted to burn a dvd so I had to upgrade that for another $19.99. The upgrades did nothing. The burn was still locked and was limited to the free version. I spent a couple hours trying to get this working, including dumping the program and downloading and installing it all over again. Still didn't work. I contacted the support listed above and they replied next day with a file to replace the bad one. It worked and the DVD I made came out really good. Once it worked it was easy to use and am happy with that. Support was helpful and they have a money back guarantee. Show more

Only allows you to copy 5 minutse …. don’t instal!

Yeah, you can download it free and open files but you can’t actually do anything with it BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BUY THE FULL VERSION. NOTE: I don’t mind buying something but don’t tell me its free when its just a cheap trial/demo versiion of the software that doesn’t actually do anything worthwhile. UTTERLY USELESS. Show more

I’m in an ActionScript class and we’re covering video format now. I have an .mp4 file that I needed to convert to .flv and .f4v format. This app did great converting the file to .flv, but all it did when I tried again for .f4v was convert the audio. So… I can hear the video… I just can’t see it… white space… Is there an app anywhere that converts to .f4v? Or did that format get discontinued? My textbook is kinda old so, maybe that’s why I have a white screen? Show more

I tried this converter to convert my .avi media to .mov. The quality is about 1/2 of the original .avi……… what a waste of time!!!

After looking at all the online converters that just wanted my email address, or had fine print, or the apps that are likely malware, I downloaded this "Free Video Converter" and whatdya know, it converted my MOV to mp4, for free! If you want to play it more than 2 times (or maybe it's 10, but whatever) well, that's another story. Come on, Apple ... yes, Apple approved this app for the App Store. I am sure once you pay, it's fine. Until then, it's useless. Show more

Some of the reviews say its not free, well I just tried converting my first video .FLV to .MP4, it worked great and didn’t require me to pay!

Very first file I tried to convert - a simple .avi file and I got an error saying “failed to load.” Glad I didn’t pay for this.

Converted a 5GB raw avi file to a 50MB mp4 file in couple of minutes. Unbelievable! Highly recommended!

I had 6 .MTS files that I changed the extension to .m4v and couldn’t change back. All the other converters made the quality horrible or wanted me to pay $60 to buy the software, I only had these 6 videos to convert. So I tired this FREE Converter Video app and converted the .mp4 video- which was VERY slow and choppy BUT I was then able to open this video in iMovie (which I wasn’t able to with the .MTS or .m4v file). So I then exported the .mp4 video from iMovie to a perfect quality .m4v. SUCCESS! Show more

i dont know why ppl rated this app bad, but for me this app is great. after a whole day searching for a software to help me merge subtitles to my video and i was feeling so hopeless because almost every software for Mac you have to buy license for full features, i found this app: work just fine and especially it is free!! it was like a life saver to me lol. thank you for creating this free app! This app only converts the first 5 min of a video. If you want to do more you need to purchase each module individually ($21.44 each). You”ll need the Ripper, Converter and Creator modules to do a complete Convert, edit and burn of a disc. Once you’ve purchased all those and shut down and restarted the app it works great!!!! THis worked fine after trying 4 other converters. It reduced the size of one noisy file to about 4% of its original size and the playback is comparable.

I tried this to convert Hubsan quadcopter video fron 720x240 to 720x480. the free version is useless as far as I can tell. I don’t feel like paying $19.99 to find out if any of the in app purchases will help. Appears to be completely useless with paying for an in app purchase Show more

Look elsewhere if you plan on buying any of the in-app purchases here. I bought one and they immediately charged me twice for it. When I contacted their customer support, they told me it wasn’t their fault and to contact Apple support (who obviously woudn’t be responsible for the company charging me twice). Be warned. I have been looking for a video file converter for a while and this one works great! And it’s free! Thanks

This is out dated. In order for the app to work at all it needs something called X11 which is used to convert this app to be able to use on macs. So you need a converter to operate this converter. The second problem with this is that X11 is no longer available and is now called something else and after being redirected I gave up on getting this thing to work. I’m currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and this app is seriously outdated for my system. If you need a GOOD video converter that’s free try HANDBRAKE. I had a problem. I was making an app preview video for my App Store app. I have an iPhone 6+, and using it I was able to make 2 of the 3 video previews for my app. A friend has an iPhone 6. I borrowed it and created a preview, and for some reason, the video size was not the output that Apple requires. So, I downloaded this app, imported my iPhone 6 video preview, then clicked the button in the top right to create a custom converter with the appropriate dimensions. The first time through I got the width and height reversed. I opened up my custom converter and reversed the size dimensions to what I needed and saved. I started the conversion and about 10 seconds later I had my app preview created. I am an indie developer and I spent 4 hours recording and re-recording videos yesterday and still could not get the size correct. It took 15 minutes from download of this app to writing this review. Yes this app is a couple years old and yes you have to go to a knowledgebase and install some supporting files but that is not much to do compared to trying to get iMovie or Quicktime Player to output a custom size. This app lets you type in the dimensions yourself (my case 1334x750). Anyway, thank you for a very useful tool that I used for my app QuickSchedule. Show more
