This app is incompatible with the latest version of iOS 16 it seems. It does not detect devices despite allowing it to do all it needs and after multiple device restarts and uninstalls. Hoping they can fix, it’s an extremely useful app when it works! Show more

Used to be a pretty good app. It’s own world, not really respecting iOS UX, yet worked well. I can’t get it to work with iOS 16, please fix and I’ll update the rating back to 4 stars (not 5 because again not iOS UX-oriented). Show more

Sort of. Has all the appearance of a nice app. But lacks in basic ability to function as a remote. When it works it is nice. The key is when

It’s like they made this software specifically to ruin your life. Every time I have to assign it a manual ip. Every logical thing you want to do has illogical paths towards doing it. The people who made this app have brought shame to their families for a thousand generations. The kind of shame that can be cleansed by bushido code. Even then, the world is left with this mark. The receiver is awesome btw. The app here is what I’m reviewing. It has brought great pain to my life. And millions like me. They didn’t invent the bubonic plague but this app lives somewhere between mustard gas and polio. Show more

Title says it all, home and Lock Screen widgets would make this a 5-star app!

When ever I use my app to control the receiver with Spotify or pandora, days later I walk in my living room and the input automatically switches back to the last input I used in the app. App has been closed and I have used the apps in several other locations like at work and in my car. I even change the input on my app to what I want to watch, close apps on phone and it will randomly switch over. Super annoying. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Show more

I cannot remember an app as clean as this one. No ads, no maintenance and has never crashed on my iPhone or my Samsung tablet. Sure, there could be more features and there is a bit of a learning curve if you want to dig deep into its magic, but its simplicity keeps me happy without having to do so. It is as simple as I need and almost as complex as I desire. I hope they don’t stop here though, improvements keep me interested in Yamaha. Yamaha, don’t rest on this victory. Show more

Doesn’t work anymore. Won’t see either of my receivers.

I’ve been using this app for some time now, a couple of years at least, but it stopped working with my RX-V481 receiver right around the time that I upgraded my phone to iOS 16. What gives? Show more

I mostly like the app over my Yamaha remote. The app actually has some more specific aural “scenes” than the controls on my receiver or remote. Plus the volume control is more responsive on the app than the remote. Show more

It’s refreshing to see an app in 2022 that works with no real fuss. No need to create an account, or link with your social media, no ads just make sure your device can access the receivers ip address and that’s it. You can do roughly ~95% of the things the remote can do. You’ll need to know where the remote is for the off chance you need it, but when you need it you’ll find it’s covered in dust. Show more

I recently upgraded my RX–V775 to a RX-V6A. I am absolutely devastated that this app does not support my new receiver. The music cast app is extremely limited in its functionality. Please add support for the RX–V6A! Show more

When it works its great. For some reason every now and then it jumps into demo mode. Takes awhile to figure out why. My system is wired so its not a wifi issue and entering the ip manually offers no help. No reason for it to bounce into demo. Show more

This app will work one day and the next several days you can’t find your toner or anything else I’ve reset the Wi-Fi reset the unit updated the unit everything you can possibly think of it’s a terrible app. I wish you were something out to look at actually control on a regular normal basis but this app does not do that Show more

I’ve written before, my receiver is several years old and suddenly, the app is loosing connection with the receiver. I hear this is a common problem. Problem is, I’ve written about this issue and I hear crickets from tech support. Bad situation. Show more

Yamaha needs to explain why this app has not been updated to control the latest 2022 AV Receivers. The company just released an “update” to the MusicCast app. However, MusicCast DOES NOT HAVE any of the graphical control of this app which appears to be far more intuitive and easy than MusicCast. I’ve been using this app in its many incarnations for years to control our older Aventage RX-A3020 receiver. It does not have built-in wifi, but it does have an Ethernet connection. I use a wireless adapter to connect to my LAN. I suspect that most people who have issues with the app connecting have some sort of interference that they haven’t figured out yet. I had the same issues when I set up the system in our new 20 yo home. Couldn’t get the app to connect at all. I discovered that my wireless transmitter/receiver for my subwoofer was jamming the wifi signal to the converter. My sub tx/rx fortunately is very flexible, able to operate on different frequency bands. As soon as I changed to a lower frequency band, everything worked perfectly. Show more

Please add the RX-A6A. Every time I open the app it announces the presence of the receiver, but selecting it opens the MusicCast app, which instructs me to turn on the receiver and press the connect button. There is no connect button. There is no way to control the receiver. Show more
