This app is good for generating ideas. I hope this app becomes as available again and will be updated. It has a lot of potential for composers.

I paid $14 for these Loopmash products, buying all the in app purchases. I have produced over 50 songs and am very upset with your product Loopmash. The sounds are just barely ok. I managed to make a decent sound out of the loops spending much time. The app doesn't export. And more frustrating, the song produced wont publish on Soundcloud as being BLOCKED. SAY IT ON DESCRIPTION that your app doesn't export and songs can't be used!! At least say on your product that the app doesn't export and tracks can not be used. The app has no function. Steinberg is a professional name why do you release such a product. What a waste of my patent attorney time. Maybe 8 hours! Refund that $4,800 too... Just kidding. Don't waste people's time!!! Needs ability to import own loops.

I've had this app for a while, and have been able to use the save option as advertised. I recently installed the iOS 7 upgrade, and have not been able to save any new presets since...it will not give me the option to enter a new preset name. This is a superb app; I hope this problem can be resolved soon. I wanted to contact the developers but could find no number or email. Show more

Sounds are great, lots of controls and variables to tweak and loads of fun to play with. I wish I could import my own sounds and stienberg is a pain in the neck to get any customer support. I have a hard time convincing myself I am doing anything other than play a game without the ability to add my own sounds. Still it is a fun game to play! Hey Cubase folks, the sliders need the a ability to move by tapping instead of just dragging. Dragging can take you to another screen when all you want to do is turn something up or down. Show more

EPIC FAIL

Loving it. One of my favorite apps on the iPad just got better.

Mash up is pretty big these days and this app keeps up and instep if you take the time to know what the parameters do to affect the piece. Hopefully, a new release will transfer more of the options from the mainframe version inside Cubase. You have to have a sensibility about Mash Up to really appreciate this product. Show more

Do not purchase if you are trying to mix original work. I'm sure it's a nice toy but without being able to load my one tracks created in Cubasis, etc, this is useless. Oops. Show more

At least the Dev is trying to improve it. I still won't use it much. Implement loop import and offer more interesting in app packages and I would add a couple of more stars. Show more

I bought this, wearily I might add, and in many ways feel cheated! While the real estate the iPad provides give the app a few more choices and abilities than its "smaller" brother that one sees on the iPhone version; the loops and samples are SO uninspired and formulaic, it actually makes me remember why I have a problem with Steinberg and most of their products... Mostly this has to do with the way they "lock down" the products and refuse to allow for TRUE creativity! WHY CAN'T I HAVE THE ABILTY TO ADD MY OWN SOUNDS OR TO RECORD OR SHARE BETWEEN APPS?! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, I BOUGHT THE SOUND PACKS FOR THE IPHONE VERSION. THEY SHOULD PORT OVER TO THIS VERSION! They possess better sounds and loops, by far, than this one... PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! Your inhibiting our creativity in the name of profit and wanting to keep such tight control over what is actually possible! CHANGE THIS, AND I WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WOULD GLADLY RECOMMEND OTHERS PURCHASE WHAT YOU PUT OUT... BUT AT THE PRICE RANGE THIS APP IS I WOULD EXPECT WAY MORE AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE OTHER BETTER PRODUCED AND LESS RESTRICTIVE APPS.... Show more

obvious omissions, but i use it to quickly create texture and ear candy under my tunes. great for that. 5 stars when they add: 1) importing of loops 2) audio copy/paste 3) midi in/out 4) display of tempo without having to first move the slider. steinberg say on their website they're "investigating the possibilities" of loop import and copy/paste. i'd bet they can do it now but won't in an attempt to build up demand. but demand will lag until steinberg add those features. can you say "catch-22"? I disagree with the previous negative reviews. Loopmash is stunningly innovative and the realisation on the iPad works really well. At this price point Steinberg clearly regard this as a serious music app - and I'd agree - but to be serious it needs the ability to load your own loops….. pre-canned loops just won't cut it at all. In addition it needs a means to mix down to an audio file and also it needs midi sync. There are other things it needs (panning is pretty obvious) but the above 3 are absolutely essential. I am fully expecting that version 1.1 will have all of those features (I can't believe that they won't be coming) - then I'll be back to give it 5 stars. Great stuff Steinberg!! Show more
