The only metronome you’ll ever need
I’m a music teacher and performer. I’ve downloaded most of the iOS metronomes to review for my students. This is the one that I use. It has everything I’ve ever wanted in a metronome. It’s so good that I paid for the premium service. Joe is an awesome developer and always replies with answers to any questions. I love it. My Dr. Beat doesn’t. Show more

Great app, too complicated to use
It has all the features you could think off, unfortunately it is very difficult to use and counter intuitive.

    It's the best
Title says it all; it's an invaluable tool.

    Unbelievable! No brainer purchase
One of the things that met Apple successful as a company was that they figured out what the public wanted before the public even knew. PolyNome is an app that does just that. It does everything you could ever hope for and then six months or a year later as you have improved you’ll think of a feature that you need and you’ll discover that it’s already there. And that happens again and again and again and again and again. Brilliant work by an exceptional coder and exceptional professional drummer. Show more

    Cannot change time signature
I bought this app thinking I could make rhythm tracks that I could download and save and you can, except only using 1 time signature at a time. If you try to change the time signature then it changes the time signature for the entire preset. I had hoped that for an app that had so many features surely it would have this capability. Show more

So, So Much More Than A “Metronome
I am guitarist who encounters/plays some complex “fingerstyle” rhythms (bass and treble clefs that employ different rhythm patterns in the same measures). By permitting me to enter the values of notes in the bass and treble clefs in separate beat lines (essentially like using parallel metronomes) Polynome has transformed the way I analyze and practice a new piece of music. It is simply amazing and I can’t believe I’m only discovering it now!!! I’ve read a couple of the reviews that say it’s over complicated—I am 70 years old, have owne the app for one hour, and I have already transcribed approximately 20 pretty complex measures into a new preset. The complexity derived from the seemingly endless variety of options. It is mind-blowingly amazing. I’m looking a. $150 Boss Dr. Beat metronome I have connected to my mixer and thinking, “Reverb!!” I can, without any reservation say that this is the best app I EVER purchased and/or subscribed to. I enthusiastically encourage anyone who wants to improve his/her rhythm (and who doesn’t?) to take give this app a try. Yes, it does take a few minutes to get under your fingers, but then it’s pretty darn intuitive. I simply can’t rave enough about it. So I will stop. Best of luck in your pursuit of the right beats for you!! Show more

    Revolutionized my Practice Time
This app is amazing and well worth the money. At first it’s a bit confusing, but after a month or two things should be making more sense. I’ve logged almost 1000 hours in 2 years since I got it and my drumming has progressed further than I could have imagined. I was never really good with reading music but through using this app, I can now sight read music and transcribe difficult drum parts. On top of that, I actually had fun doing it. With this app, your drumming ability is only bounded by your creativity and motivation level. Show more

    Great ap…while it lasted
I’m a pro musician and purchased this app several years ago. In addition to downloading a bunch of then-available presets and playlists I created a number of my own. Then, presumably after a recommended upgrade the playlists are now a “premium feature” and I can no longer access them. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about this and the developer says you don’t lose and features after upgrades, but I’ve not found a way to get back to my playlists and indeed they may have been deleted in the attempts to get back to where I was. Not happy and I won’t be spending any more money for this app. Show more

Paid $15 and I am still constantly Nagged
I understand that developers need to make money. But I paid $15 and I am continually nagged to subscribe. I just need a basic metronome application, and thought that paying the $15 would provide that, but I'm ready to uninstall and just create my own beats in Guitar Pro. Show more

    First Time Purchase Crashed immediately
I purchased the $15 version to try and it seemed to work for what I needed. I upgraded to the $30 version and while I started making playlist the app crashed. It now wont open on my computer at all. It tries to start then fails. If I am paying that much I want to be able to count on it to work 100% of the time. If it happened durring a show that would be bad.... Show more

    What happened?
This app has gotten so bloated and confusing - what used to be easy is now frustrating. Whenever I open it now I get sucked into a programming rabbit hole for half an hour before I just say forget it. I used to love this app ? Show more

    Amazing app and awesome developer!
Hey Joe, I talked a friend at church into getting your app so I could share my playlists. He bought the cheaper version and he can’t open my playlists. Can he upgrade for the difference in cost? Or does he have to pay the full price for the full version? Show more

    Amazing
This app was the sole reason I was able to learn and understand more difficult drum notation. Anytime I couldn’t understand a rhythm from a drum chart I wanted to study, I would input all of the notes (yes, sometimes a painstakingly long and tedious process ? but it always worked) Then I would just hit play. Magic! It has helped me so so much over the few short years I’ve had it. Cant thank you enough for such a great tool ?? Show more

    Perfect practice app
I recently decided to pull out the old iPad apps I have for guitar and make use of the metronome again for practice. All of them work fine but I began to ask myself some questions. Why can’t I have some sort of count-in? Why can’t I organize things better for practice and have multiple BPM sessions with different time signatures? I know, I know. I’m being picky but I was a little annoyed by these “missing” features in most of my apps. I had noticed that a friend of mine was using PolyNome and he thought highly of it so I thought I would give it a try. WOW!! I was stunned at how complex this app was and how flexible it could be. I can’t find anything so far that I can’t set up for an efficient practice workflow. There is a bit of a learning curve at first but lots of videos and docs make the learning easy. I immediately signed up for a lifetime subscription and don’t regret it at all. Show more

    Extremely powerful, outstanding support.
I play in a major American orchestra, and for years I’ve been on the lookout for a metronome app that would help me learn some of the incredibly complex contemporary music that we sometimes play. I downloaded PolyNome and with some exceptionally generous and prompt help from the app’s developer, including TWO personalized Loom videos to guide me, I finally solved my problem. If you find yourself playing a piece by Thomas Adés and wondering how to play a bar in 2/6 or 3/5, this is, as far as I know, the only metronome app that can help you do it. Thank you so much! Fantastic app! So many useful features. Has improved my playing significantly. Get beyond 1-2-3-4 by practicing with PolyNome. You’ll be glad you did.
