    Unbelievable you wont support Catalina
Why bother paying developers for their work if the software will just be thrown in the dust bin and leave you with a mess to clean up?

    Catalina please
Consider this my vote to support Music and TV on Catalina.
  • ierodotorg, 15.10.2019
    Do not work with Catalina
It was a great Software but it doesn't work (with Catalina) anymore. I understand that it might not be interesting to update this software. Anyway, thanks for the ride.

Frees up much needed storage space
TuneSpan works seamlessly and allows me to free up space on my main drive by storing memory consuming movie and TV Show files on ancillary drives. It is totally transparent to the iTunes user. Well worth using if you find yourself running out of iTunes storage space. Show more

If you manage your iTunes Library - - - - GET THIS!
I am a very hands-on type of person when it comes to managing my iTunes Library, and it is large - well over 10TB. Tunespan is indispensable for helping me manage it all. I cannot even estimate how much time this slick utility has saved me. Thank goodness they don’t charge what it has saved me in effort and time. Show more

    iTunes
Gem of a program that allows me to span music, movies, and shows to whatever drive I choose. (freeing up space on my main drive). Outstanding!

    Does it’s job
After getting bad advise in Mac User Groups on how to move my movie library to a external hard drive I found this program. It does the job and is easy to use. Show more

Outstanding! A Must-Have for Large iTunes Libraries
I don’t give kudo’s out easily, but this is a truly outstanding application. TuneSpan fills a massive void dealing with growing iTunes media libraries. The app is well thought-out, well-designed, and refined. This isn’t one of the “quick and dirty” apps you may find elsewhere, but instead does it’s job in an elegantly presented way so you can keep using iTunes across all your devices as you always have. I’ve had no significant problems using TuneSpan in the past several years. TuneSpan’s self-error recovery is an unexpected bonus you may never even be aware of, e.g. when I once had a power outage while TuneSpan was spanning several thousand files, I only had to restart TuneSpan when power came back, it recovered and completed successfully without any further interaction from me. Perfect. The developer is responsive with help if you should ever need it, takes input, and even incorporated one of my suggestions into the latest release. Let’s put it this way. I have an iTunes Library with more than 35K music tracks, movies, tv shows and saved podcasts that now consumes over 9.7TB — larger than any primary disk a Mac offers today. TuneSpan allows me to continue to use, play, purchase and download anything new into my iTunes library the same way Apple intends and I have always have done — but then at my convenience, manage and automatically move selected parts of my iTunes library to other locations (such as 8TB+ of more seldom-accessed movies and tv shows onto my NAS where I have almost unlimited and much more cost-effective storage available.) IOW, iTunes doesn’t know TuneSpan is there, but TuneSpan works intricately with iTunes. TuneSpan physically moves media files based on your needs, while ensuring the location info remains sync’d back to iTunes — as such, even syncing and playing to access your iTunes media via Apple TV Home Sharing works as you expect. If you ever have an actual iTunes problem, you can contact Apple Support directly and not even mention TuneSpan is in your mix — becausing it’s doing what you could do manually if you had the time, accuracy and patience to do so. For me, TuneSpan is one of less than a handful of apps I own and use in macOS and iOS that integrate seemlessly with Apple’s basic functionality. If you can’t tell, I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone with large iTunes media libraries or those that need to offload some of their media from your main SSD. Show more

    Multiple drive software
I have an extremely large video and Old Time radio file to keep track of this allows me to spread my files among several drives.

    Indispensable
Wow, this program is a dream come true. It makes it so easy to move stuff off the internal hard drive, onto an external one and all the cataloging done automatically in iTunes so it knows the location of the media. It is simple, it is careful with your media, and it makes sure you understand what you are doing. Show more

Costs So Little; Saves So Much Time
I wanted to move ONLY my movies to an external HD. At $15, TuneSpan was worth a chance, if only to ensure that I didn’t really screw up my iTunes library and files tyring to do it manually. TuneSpan works like a charm. The interface will be familar and if you read a couple of the help instructions, you’ll be up and running in a few mintues. I ran a test file to ensure I could perform the right steps and TuneSpan worked beautifully. Then, in a matter of ~90 minutes, I was able to relocate (span) all the movies (110 GB) to an external HD. Upon my instruction, TuneSpan also deleted the files on my internal HD, freeing up that valuable real estate. I’m NOT a tech guy but this product seems to work great. I have NOT tried or test all the built in features (like “Restore) but I will assume that they will all work fine or the Developer will help us. He seems to really be engaged in this product and I REALLY appreciate that. Show more

    It works perfectly
Its great. Its easy to use, just drag and drop, and I’m able to move parts of my iTunes library to another hard drive. Perfect!

    OUTSTANDING!
I was a little hesitant on spending the money on an app, but this has definitely paid for itself in the few months that I have purchased it. I wanted my movie library and my music library on two seperate hard drives as they were both outgrowing my external disk. So I purchased this seperated the two and now they work flawlessly. Definitely recommend this app. Show more

Very handy for saving disk space & splitting library across multiple drives
I’ve been using this app for a few years now. It has worked flawlessly. It enables me to very easily keep my entire iTunes library (movies, audiobooks, music, etc.) off of my small SSD drive, and on a secondary drive (which, in my case, I have in the CD drive bay of my MacBook). My library is around 100GB, and keeping it on my main system drive is not an option. Where this app is likely to come in the most use if for people who wish to spread their library over a number of locations. If you simply wish to move and store your entire library to another location, this can easily be done by setting up an alias link from the original location to the new location. iTunes will “think” it’s getting the files from the original location, but they will in fact be coming through from the new location. If you only wish to achieve that, then you can save yourself $15. However, if you want to store media in multiple locations, the Tunespan is the way to go. For example, perhaps you want all your music (or most listened to music) on your laptop. And you want to store your less listened to musich, and audiobooks and podcasts in another internal drive, and then store massive movie files on an external drive. Tunespan would make this VERY easy to achieve. That’s the main reasons for buying an app like this. UPDATE: I still use this old version of TuneSpan. It’s a great pity it’s no longer being updated. At least, that’s how it looks. Last update was in Oct 2015 (aroudn two years ago). I hope it doesn’t eventually break. But for now, it appears to still be working fine. Show more

    Great software
This is some very solid software, no crashes and does exactly what it says. I’ve been able to span 2TB of various media across two external hard drives and iTunes doesn’t care a bit. Show more
