WhoSampled is totally unrivaled in what it offers music lovers, and is just one of my all-time favorite apps in general.

App keeps crashing after clicking on an artist, unable to see tracks/songs. Can someone assist?

First off, this app does exactly what it should. I never write reviews but i gotta for this one. There is literally no other platform or app like it. A must have for music lovers. I bought it years ago. I noticed hardly nothing from the country rappers (upchurch, calhoun, etc) Not sure if they arent updating the app. But what they do have is like an encyclopedia of music history. Just amazing. Show more

It’s $4 for the app — and then another $10/year if you want to use the Shazam-like feature. That’s not mentioned anywhere, as far as I can tell. Also wouldn’t connect to Spotify. Tried a few times but wouldn’t. Love the website but the app feels like a rip. Show more

It’s like $15 to get the app to work like Shazam does. I’m now looking for a refund. I’m just trying to figure out a cover song. Update Thank you the long copy and paste explanation. But it still didn’t work like advertised. So if you want to keep my money you can keep the one star. Show more

So they start by making it seem that you get the whole app for 3.99 but then reveal that you have to pay $10 a year to use it with automatic recognition. Spotify samples don’t play even though it’s connected. So I’m left with only knowing what the samples on a track are if I search and then can’t listen to them unless there’s one from YouTube. I am never disappointed, and I mean never – disappointed in a search I make using WhoSampled. Even the most obscure of samples or information I didn’t think I would be able to fine here, I have. Take for example a monologue clip that clearly came from a movie or some video recording. It was on Kendrick Lamar‘s newest album, Mr. Morel and the Big Steppers. The song, Mr. Morale. I learned it was from a 2012 YouTube clip of someone eviscerating an NFL performance by the Dallas Cowboys. It even gives the minute:second mark of the video to listen to it! I highly recommend this app and while I do not pay for any additional subscription services, I find the free service it provides highly valuable and puts my MUSIC NERD mind at ease when I have identified the makings of a song I love! I actually began seeing someone who shares a love for this app and uses it frequently like me. I find that shared interest attractive so should I also say this app helps you find your people?? Controversial, I know! Try it, you won’t find anything better. ?❤️? Show more

Needs update the app will not play music from Spotify anymore.

Super disappointed to learn you have to not only pay to download the app, but also to have it listen to a song. What’s the point? This app is stupid; save your money and search online. Show more

Bought the app to help figure out a sample, but it costs $9.99/month to use that function? It would be clearer if they just charged more for the app and included the functionality, or make the app free to download and charge more for the subscription to use it rather than wasting $3.99 to find out their isa $9.99 sub fee. I used this app in the past when it was free I was under the impression that buying the app I would have the same service of highlighting a song and getting the info that I was looking for, but to my surprise after buying the app they want me to join a service that I’m not going to join, if it is possible can I get my money back the app is of no use to me, DW Show more

I paid for the full version because I thought it'd be better than the website. I still wouldn't recommend this app. One reviewer hit the nail on the head when they said the app looked like it was for an iPhone 4. It's incredibly slow and primitive and to be honest, is extremely lacking with sampling information. Half of the time they don't even have the answer I'm looking for. The Genius app usually has better information on samples and that isn't even the primary function of the app. I'd recommend that app over this one any day. And don't even think about paying for this. Absolutely worthless. does not even come close to identifying ANY actual sample. completely dishonest service, scandalous at the least and criminal at best. This is a complete ripoff, save your $$. Even IF this service performed as it claimed, it still wouldn't be worth the 15$ cash grab. stay away!! Show more

I wish it worked more like the website. Instead our using my Apple Music and stopping my music to play a sample through Apple Music. The app just feels a little lackluster compared to the site. Show more

paid for it. website is better except it scrolls to the top a lot which is why i bought the app. it crashed way too much. deleted it right away. gave me so much stress it just crashed every time. also there are no videos and you can’t skip to the exact duration like you can on the website. crashing is the biggest issue though.
