Will not work with iOS 11
No updates as others have said. This app will not work with iOS 11 due to it being 32-bit.

    NO UPDATES ... EVER!! Why???
This app has only the VERY basic operations ... You can't even label an input or save settings ... Let alone stuff everyone wants like automation or compatibility with the PreSonus remote mixer app ... I thought this would be made into a real app as it was updated ... But it's NEVER BEEN UPDATED! Soooo Lame. Show more

Really? No updates for over two years? Really?!
Seriously, get your crap in gear Presonus. Why can't I label my channels. This is so simple. Now ever two years!! I'm headed to Behringer. They know what consumers want.

    Very poor app
Presonus doesn't even deserve one star I bought the vs1818 to us live and although the demo shows channel naming, the app in use has no channel naming. Presonus continues to sell as a live mixing set up, and are not supporting this product any further. Show more

    Exactly as expected
This app does a great job as a remote for running a VSL1818. I use it when tracking drums in my little project studio. It allows me to access exactly what is needed to fine tune my monitor mix across the room from my PC. Show more

Nice start but needs much more
This app needs updates badly. Don't get me wrong. This is a technological wonder. Using my Ipad to control my 1818vsl is fantastic. There are several short falls though. First off you cannot label the channels. Do you expect us to use duct tape on our Ipads to label channels like its 1970? Come on, this should be a given. Secondly, it's really not setup to easily run live sound from the Ipad. Isn't that the whole point of this application? Things like sub grouping channels, disabling/ removing channels that are not being used would be a huge asset. The master fader could be on the screen at all times to adjust instantly if feedback rears its ugly head. The side to side scrolling is much too sensitive. I will often go to change a fader position but instead you start to scroll through the channels. I find things like the phase button and solo button kind of silly to be eating up valuable screen real estate on the main screen. You normally use these features for sound check and the initial setup. Can't remember ever changing the phase of a mic during a show. Those settings could be done on the computer that is running your vsl software. On screen channels are viewed 12 at a time. That's a little awkward. Why not make the faders larger and put 8 channels at a time on the screen along with a static master fader. Or maybe 8 channels, a static master fader and static master effects faders. Since the 1818vsl has 8 mic inputs and the addition of ADAT channels are 8 inputs as well. It's just makes sense. If you're going to leave all the SPIDF, ADAT and DAW channels visible on the screen at least put the SPDIF faders at the end of the 8 ADAT channels and then the DAW channels. I realize some people use the SPDIF inputs but for those of us who don't it would make it much easier to mix without 2 dead channels right in the middle of the mixer. Those users that do use the SPDIF inputs and the Ipad to control them probably wouldn't care one way the other. I know I'm being pretty hard on this app but this has such great potential. I really hope they update this app with live sound in mind. After all VSL stands for Virtual Studio LIVE! All in all this app will work for you but it could be SO much better and hopfully will be in the near future. I'm rating this app 3 stars because of the cool factor and technological achievement but also for the needed updates. Update this app and I'll update my rating. Show more

    This changes everything
I admit, I found Presonus' marketing of the 1818vsl to be a but sketchy; many of us had assumed that we'd have iPad control out of the box. We didn't. I made use of VNC type iPad apps to make something work, but it still wasn't enough. With this app, Presonus delivers the goods! I used it recently in a session with my band, Mister Loom, and it finally allowed me to get the cue mixes right for everyone! Awesome! I have a lot of Presonus gear in my studio, and now this app… this little bit of software has become the center of my rehearsal control! I'm even more excited to learn that my 1818vsl will work DIRECTLY with my iPad 3, meaning: I can use a USB camera kit adapter to go straight into my 1818vsl! Software for it is on the way from Auria that will allow 18 simultaneous channels to be recorded directly into my iPad, without my Mac! Wow! Obviously, this is a different feature, and the app doesn't come into play in this case, but I have to say: Presonus is getting better at software. Just give me an iPad app form Studio One 2, and I'll be in heaven! I have only one issue with this software: UI. I'm an iOS developer, so I have some insight into this; the UX is decent, but the UI is lacking. You can't label channels Rotary knobs don't use rotation, the use y-axis-drag BS that is an antiquated paradigm. You can't recall or store scenes (global settings). I could go on, but I won't, because they did a good job, irregardless of a few shortcomings. if Presonus ever wants a UI/UX, I'd work for them in a heartbeat. So much potential with the hardware/software. Show more
