    Simply fabulous!
Long time OnSong user here... Once they went to subscription and forced us long time users to give up their legacy app, I dumped them like a hot potato. Searched for a few days to find something that had all the features I used in OnSong in another program.... lots of other lyrics programs out there for sure. But SongBook has EVERYTHING I need. Now I'm GLAD OnSong did what they did because I never would have found SongBook had they not. SongBook is FABULOUS! Features I love: Simple text based folder archetecture, Remote Control of IOS and Mac Apps from a different IOS device. Choice of Fonts. FAST! Does NOT crash! Dark Theme. MIDI Program Changes when songs are chosen. (send and receive). Can't say enough positives about this app. Thank you developers! Top notch, first rate job. Show more

    Simply the Best!
I've been using this app since October 2012, and it is hands down my favorite songbook app for a couple of reasons. 1 - Reliable (few if any crashes in 10years - no issues with ios updates) 2 - Midi (selects pattern/tempo for my drum machine as soon as I turn to the next song) 3 - Simple & Intuitive (I've tried many other apps because of playing out with other musicians and many of them have too many features that make them less intuitive & run slow/buggy). Indispensible
Flexible, fun and easy to use, and stable across years of OSX upgrades. An essential tool for any performing picker, strummer, or singer-songwriter with a repertoire to craft.

    Really good implementation of ChordPro
Overall, Songbook is a really good implementation of Chord Pro and allows the writer or transcriber to quickly create or modify chord charts. I am giving 4 instead of 5 because SongBook is weird and at times confusing about the way it saves files. My wish list is: * Cusomizable fonts per song, instead of global. * Ability to size images * Ability to add headers or footers for page numbers. * and (this is kind of cryptic), better implementation of special characters for music symbols. Overall, I am very happy with this program. Show more

Does What I need it to do.
Helps keep my songs organized and formatted well with chords so I don't forget them anymore.

    Excellent app :)
This app is perfect for wanting to write songs and being able to add both the chords overhead and other additional details. I really like how it even will include the chords used at the bottom of the music. Show more

    Scroll Speed Is Inconsistent
This is a good app, however, the scroll speed is inconsistent. A lot of time gets wasted having to re-time the scrolling speed only to occassionally have it scroll faster or super slower the next time you play a song. Show more

    Sync my songs everywhere
I've gotten rid of the reams of paper I had with chords and lyrics and replaced everything with SongBook. This allows me to sync my song library with my Mac, iPad and phone so I can access it anywhere, anytime - particularly helpful when I need reminder on some lyrics. One change that would be helpful to the way I use SongBook would be to allow a song to be in more than one category. Show more

    Glitchy, takes time at gig
A song is in G. I realize all the chords have changed to another key. The key choices I have are all minor. What should I choose? Em? That's reasonable since it is the relative minor to G. Nope. Wrong answer. The answer is Gm or F. Huh? Eventually you just have to go down all the key choices until it shows the chords you know are right. Edit offers {key:}. Nope, wrong answer. You must manually put in [key:]. Sometimes it will work, other times not, so I often give up and use <> just so the information will be on the page. I'm going to try Support. If they explain it all well AND it works, I will raise my rating. I had such hope and enthusiasm for this app. Maybe that other company is better but I think they do subscription. Show more

    Great for students
We used Songbook in my Institute of Hawaiian Music classes. It was perfect for sharing songs and creating a playlist for our performances. Some of the students even went on to compose their own songs for an IHM Compilation Album, which won a Na Hoku Hanohano Award in 2022. Itʻs a really great the way it allows you to collaborate with others, fine-tune the chord progressions, and add in comments where appropriate. And so simple to use!! Show more

    Hard to beat
I use SongBook on MacOS, iPad, iPhone and Windows. Stores songs in ChordPro format text files. MacOS app makes it really easy to edit your music. I use it for Ukulele, Guitar chord diagrams. Been using this for many years now. Not aware of anything better to manage a large library and perform. RTHe "PlayTogether" functionality is fantastic for facilitating sing-a-longs with Apple devices (each must have SongBook installed) whereby one person can bring up the tune and turn the pages for all. Increadable multi platform synchronization
This is invaluable. I've used this program for years now. I take crappy chord charts, paste them into SongBook and edit to produce accuarate tabs. Or, just find the lyrics and paste, then add Chords to fall precisely on the lyrics they correspond to. Link to dropbox and edits synchronize to any device you have loaded SongBook onto. Show more

Wonderful Tool For Writers and Singers
After trying various other methods of lyric keeping (loose leaf, SetList Maker app), I downloaded SongBook last year. Have used it consistently ever since and love it. One feature request I would make is to have the ability to show or not show chords on a song by song basis and not have it as a global setting. Some tunes I don't need the chords shown, some I do. There is a community of users that I have found helpful as well, and the SongBook website is great in terms of syntax questions, etc. Thanks for the great work you guys! Show more

    Unable to Sync
I write and upload songs via desktop app and they used to sync pretty seamlessly to my other devices (iPad & iPhone). For some time now that has no longer been the case. I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting the issue on the LinkeSOFT site, but have been unable to resolve it. There's plenty of room for UI improvements as well, but I get the feeling this is no longer supported by the developer... which is a shame because even so, it's probably the best thing going for this type of application. My Go-To Songbook
I got this several years ago with a large ukulele group, then backing several bands that spun off from it. I have since shared its ease of use and playlists with lots of others. Has limitations, but its benefits keep it at the top of my list. Any app that uses chordpro can share a file that I just move into Songbook using Dropbox. Two thumbs up, 4sure! Show more

I wish I could synch folders in iCloud
I have stopped using Dropbox and moved everything to Apple iCloud. Unfortunately I miss the ability to synch the folder vs. simply adding 1 song at a time to synch up devices - Mac and iPad/iPhone Show more

    Like collecting wine
Collecting songs is like collecting wine. You never want to get rid of anything. The new stuff tastes great. The old stuff keeps getting better with age. Songbook helps me stay on top of a song collection that only wants to grow. When I am ready for a gig, I browse the cellar and curate a playlist. My sets have never felt so fresh. Show more

    I love this app
I've been using this app for years . It's easy to add songs and chords, and it syncs between my devices perfectly. I would highly recommend it.

It's Such a Great Portable Musicians' Notebook
I've been accruing chordpro songs for years and loading them into SongBook. I have over 1,300 songs at the moment. For me I like to use my Macbook to load the song. It's easier for me to tweek it the way I like to view it. Once it's saved in the cloud [in my case Dropbox], I can call up the software on my iPad, or even my iPhone. If you are playing out in a group you can share/Air Drop any song to your Mates [as long as they have Sonbook]. There are many features like timed scrolling which allows your lyrics with chords to scroll at the pace you set when singing live. Another feature is you can transpose to a better key in an instant. I used to own Binder 2, but discovered that SongBook has more versatility and features. Forget about dragging 3-ring binders and book with you. Just bring your iPad from now on! Show more
