Nice app...left to die on the vine.
Was my "go to" app for practice. Company seemed to have invested a lot of time and effort in their apps, but no updates for years. Fortunately, there are good alternatives. Show more

    No longer works
I got AmpKit about a year and a half ago, it used to work great. In the last few weeks it began locking up or crashing regularly. Now it starts up and just pinwheels forever. Show more

    Awful
Used to love this app, but ever since this past update nothing is working. None of the amps or pedals are visible anymore and i cannot get anything to work other than a dry guitar signal. Very frustrating. Show more

    DON’t WASTE YOUR MONEY!
None of the presets working right. Ton’s of stupid presest, wasted 40 minutes to see if there is single decent one so I can play - NO HOP My ears poped out by the time I get to the 5th set up. Constantly on the volume - everything feeds back! DELAY - you hear what you played later. This is a joke! Show more

    New Update Deems Ampkit Inoperable
I used to love ampkit, until the last update. Now it crashes any time I want to make any adjustments to anything! Or it becomes completely unresponsive. It is now worthless and I can’t do a single thing without the app freezing up. There’s also this weird bug where the amp appears to move/“wobble”, for lack of a better term. Oh, and if you do get lucky enough to make any adjustment whatsoever, it won’t register for at least 5-6 seconds. Seriously, Agile Partners? Think I’ll finally bite the bullet and get Positive Grid. Don’t bother until they fix these bugs. Show more

    Doensn’t work
.. in Sierra OSX. Horrible latency and crackling sounds that build from nothing until all you hear is white noise with a little guitar mixed in. The longer you keep it on and play, the worse the feedback, staticky sounds become. Within about a minute, you can’t play anything at all. Show more

UI Images Need to Be Revised
I haven’t used this app since I updated to Sierra but now all pedal and amp images are too large for the space alotted. Some knobs on pedals are not visible because they appear beyond the edge of the pedal image. What was once a very intuitive UI has become a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces. Show more

Outstanding variety of Amps, Cabinets and Pedals
I’ve had a chance to try different setups for live guitar input with Garageband, Logic Pro, Amplitube and Ampkit. When comparing the variety of pedals to choose from, Ampkit is by far the most superior. I really liked the fact that Agile Partners provides you with a well versed variety of sounds and effects in the Setups and Presets. I use an iRip HD and Blueboard. Unlike Garageband I found that mapping MIDI controls with the Blueboard was possible and relatively easy to do. Agile Partners also features ‘Artists & Setups’ on their website where you can download presets created by other musicians. The only reason why I’m not giving Ampkit five stars is due to the poor track recording interface and the fact that you can’t use Ampkit with Garageband or Logic Pro via interapp audio bus. The only way that I’ve found to come close is either by investing in 3rd party software or recording a track in Ampkit, exporting the track then importing the track into Garageband or Logic Pro. If you’re looking to save yourself some serious cash and want figure out which types off pedals you’re really interested in before buying hardware, this is definitely a fantastic app and I highly recommend it for this price. Best Mac Amp Simulator!
Better than amplitube or anything else out there.

    Good guitar amp
Great UI, and very easy to use. It is also reasonably cheap if compared with similar apps. However, the tone and customization options aren’t quite up to par - compared for instance with BIAS or Amplitube, I can see a noticeable difference in tone quality, with Ampkit sounding “smaller” and more artificial. Overall though, bang for the buck it is still an excellent buy. Show more

    works on my macbook pro
I just tried this again after not using it for a long time. It works pretty well on a fairly recent 2014 Macbook Pro i7, with just a hint of latency and no problems to note. I bought this app when I was using a 2010 Macbook Pro though it wasn’t with this version of the app. I stopped using it then because it just wasn’t working well enough. I’ll use it more now that I know it works on my current machine. I don’t know if it’s because of the faster machine, because they’ve improved the app, or both. Show more

Horrible latency even with quad core i7
64 is the lowest setting for latency on my Macbook pro 2011 model i7 quad core through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, which runs flawlessly using Reason and Reaper with way more application and no latency issues. Not sure if this is a bug after updating OS X but please fix this in an update, it is useless with so much delay, you play a not and the hear it a second later, not fun at all. Show more

App Crashes if you arn’t running Yosemite:)
I would have given the App a 5out 5 if It worked with anything below Yosemitte. On my Music Computer not running it it crashes. In the description it does not say it won’t work in an older OS. Would be nice of the developer to fix it so it can. Also would be nice if tech support would get back to me, to find a work around. Show more

    Needs Garageband UI
Sounds really good but I was hoping to use this with Garageband on a mac with a presonus interface and KRK monitors. It doesnt work with GB at all. Very disappointed. Sound quality and tone is great and the effects are very realistic Its just a toy really since there is no application for it other than just playing through it like an amp. Show more

    Fantastic!
This software is amazing! I’d been looking for a program that I could play guitar through for jamming and recording and AmpKit is definitely the winner! The sound quality is amazing and it’s very easy to use. I am 110% satisfied! I play a variety of music including blues, rock, and metal. AmpKit is versatile enough to accomadate each of my playing styles and sounds nearly as good as the real equipment. I play several different guitars and I hook up to my Mac through a RockSmith cord. Also, I don’t get any muffled or distorted sound when playing metal with string gauges of .052-.012. I highly recommend AmpKit to any musician. You can create a plethora of sounds and styles with AmpKit, all for a low price. If you buy it you won’t be sorry! Show more
