I love how customizable this app is. Just what I was looking for! I bought the registration to get full access to all features, and I don't regret it. However, one star taken away for the following reason: If you have a lot of playlists, the ones at the very bottom won't be shown when you try to add a track to that playlist (since it's so far down the list of playlists). This app shows you only a limited number of playlists. It would be great if you could choose which playlists you want in the "add current track to playlist" menu. One workaround I found is manually moving your desired playlist to the top in the Spotify app. However, although this works, Spotica is slow to reflect the change in order. It took like 30-60min for the change to show in Spotica. Show more

This is the first, and likely only, time I'll write a review, but it needs to happen. Spotica is a simple, yet indeliable product that completely surpasses other notification-based music apps in my mind. Putting all the information you could ever need into the menu bar itself, and giving users complete customization of how it looks, is ingenious. Get this app! Show more

This app provides a very convenient and customizable way of controlling music from the menu bar. I am also very impressed with how responsive the developer is. Twice now I have suggested a feature, and a week or two later there'd be an update with the feature I suggested! Show more

I have used and enjoyed Spotica Menu for some time. This afternoon AVG antivirus reported that it had detected and removed the Bundlore installer from inside the MacOS folder inside Spotica Menu. If you don’t know what Bundlore is, look it up. You won't like what you find. Show more

Definitely a great tool! I've searched for similar tools several times throughout the years of Mac & Spotify usage. This one is it, I think. Very customizable and lots of features open for free users! I went ahead and registered to support the developer with future upgrades. Hoping eventually we'll be able to customize the music player popup. Maybe even a touchbar tweak! Keep up the good work. Show more

I love this app, just having a few issues. Everytime I restart my laptop I get a message that spotica menu has crashed, even though it is running fine in the menu bar. Maybe it's linked to spotify autostarting. Secondly, the text color is sometimes the opposite of the other menu bar icons, due to my wallpaper changing everyday. Show more

When the developer states that “some features are only available on Spotify,” they are referring to every meaningful feature the app is capable of providing. They have committed a lie by omission. With Apple Music/iTunes, it only displays the song info. It doesn’t show artwork, and the controls do nothing. So basically, if you’re listinging to Apple Music/iTunes, Spotica does slightly less than what can already be done in Notification Center. Show more

The app hogs the CPU on Big Sur. Also, when the text is chosen as "system color", the colors flickers between white and black for some default Big Sur backgrounds.

Ive been looking for a good sloution to control my spotify from my menubar and this is amazing, I also think the way the paid version works is great because you dont have to pay for it to get basic functionality, although i highly recommend to pay because the extra features are really neat. This is, hands down, the best small, lightweight (but packed in features) Spotify controller. It has everything I needed - it's great. Customizing features sets it apart from others. I also had an "issue" (it was my fault) where I couldn't like songs. One quick email and 30 minutes later, all I had to do was log into the API in the settings. EASY. Now everything works flawlessly. Thanks again! $2 dollars well spent. 10/10 would reccomened. Show more

This app was amazing at first. I used it all the time but now it isn't working right. It gets stuck on one song and continues to show the cover, name, and album of the song oit's stuck on. it only changes the artist's name. I've tried everything to get it to work but it's still too buggy. Show more

After maybe 20 songs or so I notice the menu bar is no longer updating. It is displaying some song I heard several songs ago and I need to restart to get it back in sync with what is actually playing. Otherwise is great, but I really don't need much more than title and basic controls, so there are lots of options for that, this might be dealbreaker since restarting it often isn't a great expereince. Date: 2020-07-27 OS: Mojave 10.14.6 Actions: Installed. Checked box for Spotify and signed into Spotify account in Preferences. Restarted several times. Result: It never sees Spotify. I'm a 25 year expert level Mac user and after 30 minutes of trying could not get this app to function. Show more
