Excellent but doesn’t play well with others
Would really like to use as an instrument in iMPC Pro 2. Or even work with Audiobus 3. But, it doesn’t. Other than that, it’s really really fun to play with! Show more

    Crippled
This app is perhaps fun to use and as such, a toy, it’s pretty well designed. Unfortunately, it is seriously crippled if you want to use it for more serious applications. The reason is the lack of ability to create your own scales. Any decent arpeggio generator allows at the minimum a creation of your own scale. This app is missing all 7th chord scales which are a must in any music, same goes for augmented and diminished scales. Yes, you can create some of those by using a chromatic scale and then finding a combination of notes distance but then you are limited only to that very specific note distance (I was able to create a diminished scale this way but that is only because of its symmetrical nature, very hard if not impossible to create 7th scale). In addition, surprisingly the app does NOT offer ability to create arpeggios on the fly based on the notes you press on a MIDI keyboard or the built in keyboard (which is there only to provide visual representation of the arpeggio) - this is something that almost every arpeggio generator has, both software and hardware. All you can control with the incoming MIDI is either changes of patterns or programs, NOT individual notes! I noticed that this developer does not like 7th chords / scales as they are also missing in the Fugue Machine preset scales, but since in Fugue Machine you can input your own notes using chromatic scale, this is not a big problem. Phrygian scale is included but nothing 7th scale (Phrygian scale can be achieved simply by starting on the 3rd degree of a major scale, no separate scale needed). All in all, this app has a great potential but is leaning on the side of being a gimmick, a toy and not a more serious music creation app. Another note, the video included in the Preview above on the App Store is misleading and suggests that the matrix can take multi touch (there are two points in performance matrix and two flashing cross hairs). This is not how the app works, in fact it states in the manual that “when the performance matrix receives multiple touches, only the last touch is active”. Show more

    Needs new update
I use this all the time. Sounds great with Bose Speakers. But it’s time for an update. Last 1 was 4 years ago. Maybe more colors. Please add all you avid users of this app. Let’s keep this going. Show more

    This app has glitches
One glitch is that when you use Siri assistant while it’s playing it goes really fast way faster than normal.

Fun, but missing a very basic control option.
Had a lot of fun playing with this and showing it to my son, but then hit a brick wall that ruined it for us. I was trying to show him how the Stranger Things theme was made and in setting up the basic arpeggio of C2,E2,G2,B2,C3 I found that it was basically impossible in Arpeggionome Pro. I can set the key to Ionic, the number of notes to 5 and the note pattern to up and down, and the note steps to 2. But that does a pattern of C2,E2,G2,B2,D3, not C3. Just one note off. It’s using steps instead of actually trying to play the chord. And as far as I can tell, there’s no way to specify exactly which notes are played in your arpeggio pattern. You can only control it with the steps and scales. So there’s no way to actually get that exact chord to play. Ironic that Arpeggionome Pro can’t play probably the most well-known arpeggio of the last 10 years. Show more

A great take on the ARP
This is just a great overall arpeggio app. Take the time to go through the built in documentation (which was simple but clear) and you will be rewarded with a very useful tool for inspiration and playing music. Or just dive in and have fun. It isn’t hard to get good results in minutes. I used it to run synths on my iPad as well as hooked it up to synths through my DAW on my Mac using USB Midi and it was a joy to use. There are many different ways to make an arp tool. This is one of the more unique ones I have tried and is a welcome addition to my music gear. My only complaint is no AU support. But it is still a 5 star app regardless of that. Show more

    Wonderful!!!
Fantastic job on this implementation of your app, your remarkable app. I’ve been using it on Android for a while and loving it, but your iOS version is vastly superior. Really a well done, well thought out app. I have absolutely no regrets about buying it twice, it’s completely worth it. Show more

    Arpeggi-Nation
Those with mono synths will appreciate how arpeggios substitute for chords, and this is the best thing for it.

Update Adds Link and Audiobus 3 Support
A very good arp for live play and can now be easily integrated with other MIDI apps and Link support allows it to easily sync and play in time. The app supports a wide variety of scales, controls for octaves, notes, step distances, playback styles, gate, and velocity. Adding the app to an Audiobus 3 MIDI setup allows you to add MIDI effects to further transform your playing so you can do chords or have multi-timbral setups. Show more

    It's okay, needs an update
Great tool for creating interesting arpeggios. This needs ableton link in a bad way. No update in over two years...a lot has happened in mobile music in two years. This app is only becoming obsolete the longer it goes without an update. Show more

    Needs Full Screen View!
Good, but doesn't make as good of a use of the screen as the iPhone version, and it really needs an update with Ableton link.

Ableton link? Otherwise great for Arp's
A lot of fun to get a melody going in no time at all. Would love to use this with ableton link though. Controlling other iOS synths through midi is as easy as it should be. Fun times messing with this one. Show more

    No Ableton link?
I don't understand why your other app has link and this one does not! It would be amazing if you added support for link. Please please please please please please...

    Good. Only one suggestion..
I love this app. Only suggestion is some automation would be cool. Def worth the money in my opinion.

    Love this app!
This app seems to have limitless possibilities. I recommend going to settings and setting the knobs to horizontal for easier use. Once they are set, touch the knob, drag your finger vertically then horizontally, this will let you see what the knob is set to. ( this would have been a better default setting as the knobs are difficult to use otherwise). The more I experiment with this the more fun it becomes. Show more

    Top notch app
Torn between too complicated to master and too simple to be useful, this app is a masterful blend of creative inspiration and practical utility. The porridge in this product is 'just right' and easily worth the price! Show more

Okay app, suggestion for the developer
This app is okay. Although the concept is good, I find the implementation very basic and with limited possibilities. Here are my impressions and suggestions: 1) the scale knob is very hard to turn to the right scale. I would recommend a drop down list. (I have a nice iPad with retina display) 2) why I cannot edit my own arpeggio by simply tapping on the keyboard my own keys ? 2) exporting the pattern in midi format would be useful. 3) an alternative vertical view of the keys with the arpeggio pattern would be much more effective and helpful than current keyboard view. 4)when changing arpeggio parameters would be helpful to have a preview scale mode that show in a different color all the keys at once. 5) remove some knobs and employ a list controller where the number of values is high. 6) the app is really worthy $ 5-6 . Why charge a so much higher price when could target so many other customers ? Show more

    Absolutely worth the money!
This app is phenomenal. It is a must-have in your iOS music-making arsenal. Many a times I have used this app when I was stuck in a rut writing, and I've stumbled across a new idea. Use it to control all your other virtual MIDI synths, and come across some great sounds. Seriously, don't hesitate. Buy it. It's that good. Show more

    Lots of fun...but
I connected various apps via MIDI and the rhythmic sounds i create are awesome. One problem that bugs me is the rotary buttons are SO SENSITIVE. Please fix it. Other than that I'm having fun. Thanks! Show more

    Industrious
Straight forward easy enough to manipulate especially on iPad but deeper than what it appears. Real cool for controlling other MIDI friendly apps too!
