    Simple and brilliant
I've been partial musician for most of my life. I say partial because I can play multiple instruments moderately well but have never had a good grasp on theory, which has hindered my ability to play comfortably. In less than an hour, this app has made all the theory lessons I've had over the years mean something. The pieces just seemed to click in place. Absolutely worth the small amount of money the developer is asking. I hope they continue to make more apps! Show more

Great but not worth the money for the extra features that should already be included
Great app, would love to have the advanced features considering the fact that I tune down a half step, play a few things in drop D and use a capo from time to time, but there’s no way I’m paying $5 for those features. I can’t afford it at the moment and probably wouldn’t pay that much if I could. Great for theory, but doesn’t work side by side with my guitar or with my setup. Will continue to use for theory because I haven’t found a better app for that yet but if I find one that I can get what I use in this app as well as the features I’m looking for, I will probably remove this app. Unless you all include these features for free before then Show more

    Rate the app annoying popups
Well, seems like every time I open this I get a pop-up asking to rate it. So here you go one star. For this particular annoying occurrence. and there should be a way to see what the actual notes are not just the root. Show more

    Sorry, but that’s BS.

    Music Theory Tuition Paid
Truly awesome app that not only identifies chords and lets the user have full authority to build extremely complex chords but also serves to “truly” teach the user “music theory” while simplifying complicated chord progressions. I’ve reviewed other sources and found by far that the “one hour method” app is the most accurate and user friendly. Highly encourage upgrading to include the “capo,” “special tuning,” and “chord guesser.” Also truly take advantage of the required short lesson prior to using the app and utilize the educational lessons and tutorials included with this app. Show more

    Helps Creativity
Utilizing the One Hour Guitar method allows you to learn different versions of chords in a way that is simple, and easy to understand. Learning and applying these different versions adds depth, interest, and creativity to songs you currently play and/or are writing. I like that you can strum the virtual guitar to be able to hear and understand the chords you're learning. Show more

    Maybe I'm an idiot but
I can't figure out how to use this thing! It is not very intuitive or maybe I'm an idiot. So far, I'm sorry I bought it!

    Useful and Educational
This app is such a great tool for any level of guitarist. It is awesome with song development, and it's tutorial section is priceless to someone getting familiar with the fretboard. Way to go! Show more

    Useless app
$6.99 and this app is absolutely useless!

    One Hour Guitar Method
This is by far one of the best tutorial systems I have ever tried. I have learned more about chord structure and fingerlings in one hour than I have in years. At The offered price of $6.99 you just can't lose with this app. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it. Show more

I'd like to give it a review...but no sound even though my sound is up!
Tells me that my device sound is down, when it's all the way up and all other apps work with sound. Any fix?

    One hour guitar method
Don't buy this app it's a piece of crap, you spend 1.99 for nothing because you have to keep buying upgrades or extra items such as different tunings. If I could get a refund I would, worthless, you can get better lessons on YouTube for free. Summarize in one word "Ripoff". Show more

    Great app
I'm enjoying seeing how chords are formed and learning the theory behind it thanks

    I don't see it
Good luck with whatever this is. Maybe you guys should put some more money towards development of the app and a little less to your sponsorship. Text only, come on!

    Great App!
This is a terrific app if you have proper expectations. While it is simply impossible to "learn all chords in one hour" (jazz and classical greats spend DECADES trying to do that), it IS possible to learn HOW the basic chords are constructed. This app combines a small amount of music theory with the layout of the frets. Starting with a basic chord shape, D for example, you learn why it is a D based on the Root, 3rd, and 5th. Then you learn what adjustments are needed to turn it into other chords (7th, 9, sus, Maj7, etc). This same process continues for the other basic chord shapes. I will add that while the app uses the basic shapes of D, A, C, E, and G, it does not have anything to do with the "CAGED" system, nor does it even mention that. I would classify this app as a music theory app with three differences/improvements: it is specific to the guitar, it is PRACTICAL, and you won't get all the theoretical stuff (circle of fifths, etc). Perfect, more than just to get you started
Ok, I tried it... And it is killer! It will teach you how guitars work... Even if you play at a level where you know a bunch of chords and can play in a band, this will up your technical knowledge of how these chords are built... Nice job man! This is great for people like me who learn visually, and really opens your perspective on changing the feel of tones to better express yourself with playing... Ild say anyone who knows a few chords already, this kicks open the door and makes all the songs you make sacrifices on by substituting chords that sound "close enough" easier to nail down with the appropriate feel... I really like this a lot... Show more
