    Great lessons.
Guys like Jack Ruch are excellent. Some teachers are better than others. Sample lessons reveal who’s teaching and who’s laying down riffs without much explaining why. Still good. Get the annual pass. You’ll wish you did. I went through Josh Smith is a day then wished I had MORE. Show more

    Apps and web interface inconsistent
I have been on and off Truefire for years. I am an all access member now. It is actually a good deal as compared to other options. It is heavy on jazz and blues and more traditional rock styles, and there are a lot of theory courses. They have first rate instructors. The apps can be frustrating though. I use the iOS app, the browser interface, and sometimes the android app on a chromebook. You cannot access everything on each of these, and they work very differently. One example, you can get the song lessons on the web but not on the android app. Another: you can create folders on one of these (cant remember which) but cant access them on another. How you do things or find things is very different. The features are very different. Often i am trying to do something or find something and i have to switch from the app to the browser or vice versa. This has been the case with Truefire for years and is the one thing that always drives me to cancel. As a former multiple time startup software company CEO, this is kind of an unforgivable sin. You can have temporary or well documented inconsistencies, but to go on like this for years is really bad. ALL THE FUNCTIONALITY SHOULD BE IN THE APP. PERIOD. Second, you have what I can only describe as scope creep. You now have playlists, favorites and folders. You have courses, learning paths, curated collections, etc. It is confusing. It feels like what happens when the creative side says ac this, add that, and the developers have to keep bolting stiff on. This is a classic product management failure. The other thing that frustrates me is kind of not fixable, which is that the courses are very different over time. The newer lessons have better tools than the older ones. The older ones, you tend to get a video and a PDF. Also, each teacher kind of does things however they want so the styles are wildly different, and its hard to know what “level” you are going to get. Some are super basic and some are nuclear physics. Show more

    AirPlay doesn’t work
The app is nice, however the iPad version has a couple of bugs. One of them is the app becomes unresponsive when selected a song and do something else, you would need to kill the app. Another one is AirPlay doesn’t work with this app, you can listen iTunes and other apps audio in your Bluetooth speaker in my case I am using a Sonos 5 and the TrueFire app would not send the audio, and it will sound in your iPad. Not workable, “url not found”
Unable to play courses I purchased. No link to support. So waste of money. Prove me wrong. Tim Pierce videos not playing. Neither are some Bonamassa.

App needs work. The lessons are excellent
The app has some strange UI issues which might have more to do with Apple than anything else. Same weird things don’t happen on a Samsung, but still those issues should be fixed on IOs. Beyond that, the course work in very good. My biggest complaint is that the True Fire course does not seem to curate a song selection list to go along with the lessons or level you’re working at. So all you do is work through the lessons, but what about practical application? That would be a great addition to the course. Show more

    Th Best of the Best
I have been involved with TrrueFire for several years. They have the best teachers out there. They have the best guitar platform that I have come across and I have been searching the internet for many years. Everyone else comes in second to TrueFire. Show more

    Content is ok but dated
The instructors all seem well-qualified, and I am definitely learning and improving my ear, but the format seems a bit dated, the navigation is kind of clunky, and it's a little too light on metal/shred instruction. If you like blues, jazz, and classic rock, then this is a solid platform. My only other issue is that even though I took the plunge for a one-year, all-access pass, I keep getting push notifications about their content sales...pretty annoying. Show more

    If you’re serious
I’m an all-access subscriber. TrueFire thousands of instructional videos in every style and covering every skill, from teachers that are great and at least pseudo-famous players. You can use the platform to have 1-on-1 lessons from some of the teachers as well. If you’re serious about improving, at any starting skill level, you will find help here. Still gotta practice though. Show more

Wish I had this when I was a kid!
It’s such a wealth of instruction from some phenomenal talents for what is such a low all access price it feels like I’m stealing. What an amazing tool for all levels of guitarists. I also can’t help what think how amazing this would have been for 10 year old me about 30 years ago. Thank you TrueFire for a mind blowing, awesome product! ❤️ Show more

    Top Notch Education
For some $150/year (during sales seasons), you get amazing education from top players/educators in the world. All courses I've taken are superbly programmed, and there's a huge variety of music to choose from. I find myself going back to taking lessons on Truefire from time to time year round for a couple of years now. Extremely good deal in my opinion. Show more
