I love the music however the app is buggy. It goes silent occasionally. When using Apple Play in my car that disconnects it and I have to fiddle with it to get it going again. When you are driving that is very bad. Once I had to delete the app and reinstall it because it froze. I would rate the music a 5 but the app a 1. I use it a lot but am very annoyed by the quality of the software. Show more

I love this channel, it’s beautiful and has always helped me sleep. I haven’t had any issues so far. It’s like a regular old radio. I love that the commercials are still angelic and calming. Not ruining the atmosphere or mood that was set by the last song. Show more

I downloaded this app while traveling in order to get some news from home and classical music I’ve been delighted with it so far.

It brings me back to my college painting days at NIU. We would listen to WNIU in painting class.

This app is a terrific way to listen to a wonderful classical station. I use it often & it seems bug-free. Highly recommended

Wonderful app for consistently good classical music.

Despite its persistent opening "commercial" (which can only be muted manually, with well-timed use of the volume button), the WNIU app is bug-free (to the extent that WNIU's stream is available), easy to use, clear, and versatile. It provides complete access to the relevant areas of WNIU's site, social links, a "Messages" link, and an easy shortcut for calling the station. The "Now Playing" panel is confusing, because it is apparently unable to display special programs, such as "Sunday Morning Baroque." But, for regularly-scheduled programs, it's quite serviceable. The ever-present reminder to donate is a sign of the times for free apps… especially for Classical music. Show more

Wonderful to be able to access this radio station if you cannot get a good radio signal.

I have used this app numerous times to listen to WNIU out of Rockford, IL. Recently it has ceased to function and repeated attempts to reactivated it have proved futile. I love this station but this app leaves a lot to be desired. Show more

I'm just out of quality range to listen on my radio (tried 4 different radio's) , so this app does it better! Best classical music mix in Chicago area, but have to listen on the app because the signal is too weak in far N/W burbs. Thanks Show more

I like it and use it often, especially because the playlist is easy to find and read. WNIU listeners ought to have this app!

App is great.

App now shows what is playing. I find stream quite reliable, stays connected better than with an Internet radio player. And don't forget great content.

I use this app quite often, but it has some technical issues. It doesn't recognize the mute switch and the pause button won't work in the lock screen. So you can't stop the audio without unlocking the phone and going into the app. Also, it occasionnally stops streaming completely, which could be an issue with WNIU's streaming server and not the app. Overall, I still like it.
