    What an amazing app!
Many sound engineers and musicians would be happy to use this app! Engineers had to buy an expensive CD set or equipment to train their ears in old days, but not you can get this free app with lots of practical features! Blessings to developers of this app! :) Show more

    Has Everything
Not only do I find this app very beautifully designed from a graphic viewpoint it’s also very functional and easy to use. The features are basically what everybody needs for testing and calibrating audio equipment. It’s a generator not an analyzer so you need to keep that in mind. It doesn’t give you THD distortion measurement or anything like that but it is a great source generator. I found the pro version well worth the small price. Congratulations to the author of this program - very nice job! Show more

    Why change it?
I liked it better when I could set it to 22000 and up. Now, it doesn’t allow you to play nor change the numbers to over 21000. NOR BELOW 1!!!!! Please change it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It actually would play below 1 and above 21000. You simply could change the number. Now when you change the number, the player automatically stops forcing u to have to hit play again which means it now won’t play if it’s too low or high. Before you updated the app , the player would continue playing if you changed it to, let’s say, .09 or 22000. And I could hear the sound nicely. Show more

Most useful of the tone gen apps
The developer calls it a signal generator, which is more than a tone generator. Apparently however 95% of the people downloading a tone app are using it to clear water out of their iPhone speakers. If that’s what you want, you can do it here, but that doesn’t seem to be what the dev was thinking when creating this app! For me, it’s been useful for identifying specific frequencies, and for testing and breaking in speakers. The two things I like the most about it are that frequencies can be dialed in to at least two decimal places (e.g. 73.42 Hz). Some generators in the App Store only give integer precision, and at least one popular one only gives multiples of 5, with no way to manually key in the desired frequency. Dumb. This one lets you get very precise adjustments and also allows you to select the waveform (not just sine wave). The second great and useful feature is the ability to select frequencies by their musical note value, for example, D2. This is a very useful feature for me. But here’s also where we find the reason for my four-star rating instead of five-star: the frequency input and the note input live in two different worlds. For me, it would be quite useful, for ear training if nothing else, to have the frequency indicated at the top of the screen when a note is selected. As it is, I have to switch back and forth between two different apps. Worse, the note selection is not preserved when switching to frequency view, so you can’t even “cheat” to see what the frequency is. That said, if this one detail were addressed, I’d give it a solid five stars for my purposes. It’s a great, robust, well thought-out app. Show more

    Great!
Great tool, but please add a “continuous” option to the sweep so I don’t have to keep pressing the play button.

Very useful app for many tasks
I've used it often for testing speakers, woofs and tweets same time with the split function. Speeds up my testing time. I frequently use it to check my pitch recognition. Plus a lot of other functions that I do not use as much like the noise generators. Great app. Show more

    Works GREAT on MacOS Monterey!
Since many iOS apps will run on Monterey, I was hoping this one would. And boy does it ever. As great as this app is on iPhone, it's even better on the Mac because there are many more ways to route the output to a device of your choosing without having to deal with "convenience" of the beloved Lightning adapter. Super fun app if you have an O-scope to play with
Great how you can pick different wave forms, and do just about anything with them. The time divide slider is cool too can make it match my scope :) Although the sawtooth wave the image shown on the app seems to be inverse of what the actual wave looks like on the scope. Show more

    Where’s the manual sweep
I would use this app if it had a manual sweep where I could stop at a frequency to detect speaker buzzes, rattling, and air leaks.
