I don’t use iPad to stream music, it is used as remote control. But it takes 10 or more GB on the iPad. Seeking alternative now. Over priced poor product.

This app on my brand new iPhone 14 pro scrolls so poorly. It honestly feels like I’m on a iPhone 4. The Roon Arc app is fine and scrolls perfectly. I don’t understand why Roon will not fix this. Does anyone in the company have a modern iPhone with a 120hz screen?? Show more

Buggy

The app was working for a while, but then the bugs re-emerged. It can control audio output from the core system. It cannot detect audio output from iOS devices. It cannot get sound out of my Cambridge streamer. The Roon library system is excellent. The Roon audio quality is excellent. The Roon app’s inability to control remote devices is just plain annoying. I can easily control my core audio system through my Mac mini. So the app is just another tiresome remote control unit. This is supposed to be a music-streaming app, but it cannot produce sound from most devices. A silent streamer? Come on people - fix this! Show more

Roon itself is great but the app for the iPhone is not very good. You can’t see when you recently add an album for example

since Ron updated to this version my I pad has been freezing up on a daily basis. The rooon app becomes frozen and unresponsive. However, it does continue to function from the core which is on my MacBook laptop. IMPOSSIBLE to get any help from Ron, they direct you to their community chats, infuriating. Show more

App works but scrolling is really choppy

I’ve been using Roon since 2015 and without doubt, it is by far the best music streaming solution available. It has fundamentally changed how I listen to music. But, it does place a requirement on you and your home. You need a solid internet connection, a strong wifi in your home, a relatively modern computer to run the Roon Core on, and a wired network connection between the Core and your router. A modicum of understanding about computer networking helps. With all that said, Roon’s online Knowledge Base goes a long way in helping with that and Roon greatly rewards those that make the effort. DO NOT UPDATE if you are running on an NAS system and can’t yet update your core to 2.0. This update does not work with Core under 2.0

This app crashes so often on both my phone and my wife’s phone (iPhone 13 pro and non-pro) that it’s basically unusable. I’m order to stop the music or change songs I have to open the app on my computer. I’ve tried resetting the app, uninstalling, restarting the phone and Roon server, also uploaded crash logs to Roon, and still no response and no app update. This is extremely disappointing. Further, I’d like a way to listen remotely such as in my car. Show more

App crashes literally every minute of usage. Don’t bother with it.

I think the app needs an update. It crashes all the time now. Minus that issue though, the whole Roon eco-system is amazing. Keep up the good work!

App is generally quite good, but lately it shuts down randomly and frequently on iOS 15.6.1. I am all in on Roon, running a Nucleus to ropiee’s around my home. Overall I am super satisfied. I just want the app to be more stable. Show more

This app crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes. Unusable much of the time; and when it isn’t crashing it’s stressful to use because you never know when it’s going to crash. Because it crashes so often, it fails at its basic task of allowing you to select music to play and control playback. Show more

I have been using Roon to manage my music for a coupleof years now and havebeen waiting for this app to improve. Unfortunately despite the Roon system being absolutely awesome, , this app is practically unuseable for anyone with vision issues. As a person with limited vision I have to rely on the iOs accessibilty Zoom feature to navigate on my ipad. This works fine with every app except the Roon app. Using Zoom in standalone versions of Tidal Nd Qobuz is fine but when accessing them through the Roon interface it isimpossible to use zoom. It is also impossible to use the zoom feature on most of the Roon apps search and scroll features. The problem is the apps touch sensitivity, which is so sensitive to touch when the screen is zoomed thatit is not possible to operate the app. Thisproblem appears to be specific to this app, as all other apps react to the zoom and touch actions perfectly. I would love for the Roon User Interface testers to try using the accessibility zoom and touch actions to see if they can operate their app. I have been using these features for many yearsand this app is the only one that seems to have this issue. No longer functional on iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.1 ROON must with an update because it’s useless right now

The Roon service is nothing short of spectacular. But I’m an iOS user. Which has meant pulling my hair out. The iOS version of Roon Remote is virtually unusable. I start the app…play a track…and it crashes. I open the app again…it stays open for a few seconds…then crashes. There are multiple reports of the same behavior so it’s not me…it’s not my network…I’m challenge any claim that the issue lies anywhere but within the app itself. I’m gonna have to cancel my sub as iOS is how I listen…and it’s heartbreaking. It’s like owning a beautiful, expensive sports car…that won’t start. :/ Show more

Roon would be the perfect system for my home set up. I use both a NAS and Qobuz and the software combines both together in a very organized way. I think the sound quality through the equipment that I have is great. However, the iOS app has been problematic on my phone for several years. Many times after an update, the app will die after 20 to 30 seconds of using it. The only way to get out of this loop is to restart the phone. I don’t think this company has a lot of skill when it comes to writing iOS apps. If it was more reliable it’d be great. Show more

Ridiculous error messages. They will blame it on anything but will never admit bugs in their software.
