    wonderful to see this!
how about including debussy, gluck, and more? could you do a horizontal timeline with just a general overall look at the history major events?

    Go wide, and go deep!
A comprehensive music history resource in the palm of ones hand! Selecting from any number of parameters (composer name, time period, composition name, etc.), this reference resource allows one to explore and learn about western classical composers and the context in which they lived, even listening to select works. A great reference tool! Show more

    Awesome App
Awesome App. As someone who enjoys European history, this app is great for linking historical events with major composers and musical breakthroughs occurring around the same time. Super easy to use, very detailed and thorough. Highly recommend. Show more

    Wish I had in undergrad!
It's a great resource! I remember taking copious hand written notes in undergrad, and definitely missed somethings. This is a great way to have all the information in one place! Quick and easy access, scores to follow, sound bits to listen to, and a historical time line which corresponds to the musical time line! I just wish it kept going! Or maybe make other add on apps? I'd love to see some jazz and 20th century music! Great beginnings! Show more

    Excellent music history resource
I wish I would of had this when I was doing my undergraduate work. It combines multiple musical sources: sheet music, recordings, and program notes all in one app. Detail oriented biographies of composers and their works backed by scholarly research. Show more

    Very slick!
This finally brings music history to mobile. The content this app does have is excellent. The developers have a high level of expertise!

    GREAT APP
Working for an orchestra, this has been a tremendous resource for information to share with patrons. It's an easy to use, quick way to find great information (lots that I never knew!) on composers. Can't wait for more to be added! Show more

Excellent app for musicians and music majors
This app has an excellent layout, is easy to navigate, and highly informative. As a musician, this app is super helpful for looking up information quickly on composers as well as verifying facts. I'm sure as the app develops, more composers will be added--for now, it's a fantastic start and I would highly recommend this to any student studying music. The possibilities are endless for this app if you think about it--it could be the music history IMDb. Show more

    Only 19 composers...
In this initial version, the app is well-organized and easy to use, but only provides bios/information on 19 (yes, only 19!) composers. (Bellini, Berlioz, Bizet, Brahms, Bruckner, Chopin, Franck, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Mendelssohn-Hensel, Musorgsky, Saint-Saens, Schumann, Strauss I, Strauss II, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Wagner, Wieck-Schumann.) The true value of this app could be seen if it can expand to thousands of composers...although to create something that practically expansive, it almost seems easier to just suggest that Grove/OxfordMusic create an mobile app version/subscription of their already comprehensive online database. The timeline feature on this app is unique and helpful, but at present fairly useless with only 19 composers. Show more
