    Guess it needs update
I get null errors. Also the export options are all greyed out.

Phenomenal app, just wish the keys were a bit bigger or adjustable in height

    Wow
As someone who has learned a lot about theory in the past, I'm confused by a lot of this. However, It's very easy to use. It didn't take long to understand that the notes are spaced out in a series depending on the mode selected on the top left portion of the screen. The layout could stand to be a little more visually compelling, but it's self explanatory as far as playing a note goes. Some of the text is too small to be read. It would be nice if there was information about each of the different modes, whether that be the historical context, some sort of description explaining the structure, or something else to help a user wrap their minds around what exactly is going on here. I can tell by my ear that a lot of these structures are distinguishable from the 12 tone series, but it would be nice to know how they're different and what I could do to replicate some of these scales outside the app. Show more

    Great tool for music!
My one wish/suggestion would be that it can be used with my synths and pianos. It would be interesting to check out other frequency possibilities using this app and other piano apps. Show more

Almost perfect!!..but please add these features
This app is amazing. I just randomly came across this by downloading synthesizers. It’s like jumping into an audio history book of ancient tones mixed with the future tones. In my opinion, I think this app is outstanding, but if I had three wishes, this app would be absolutely perfect if: One, I wish there was a way to draw up our own geometric shapes to see what tone they create. Two, I wish we could type in the specific number frequency in the customize section. For example, having middle C be at 267.45. And lastly, three, I wish there was a way we can play the notes with our midi keyboard. I know there’s a way to transfer the scale and frequency to the D1 or Synth One synthesizers, but I love the tone of the bell in this app. If this app has those 3 other details, I wish I could rate this 10 stars lol. Please consider adding these features. Show more

    Works with AudioKit Synths!
The update to Wilsonic allows you to add your favorite scales to either of the AudioKit synths which greatly expands the usefulness of the app. In addition there are apps like Gestrument Pro which can import Wilsonic scales directly into them and can be used to play a multitude of iOS or hardware synths. This is a great app for exploring Wilson's scale work. Add this to an IAA or Audiobus chain to inject new life into your tracks and go beyond the traditional 12 tone western scale. Export favorite scales into ScaleGen to play synths via MIDI. There are also a multitude of Indian scales. Show more

    Very Cool
An interesting and unique way of looking at music. The graphics are well done and are completely user-friendly.

    I like it
The app functions very well. Several of the features make it very easy to play music in just intonation by making it much easier to visualize just relationships than on a tempered keyboard, where you have to remember what ratio you tuned each interval to (although I'm used to that). I love being able to play compositions I wrote in JI without the intervals being completely out-of-tune and homogenized to one of only 12 irrational intervals. This app is mostly designed to demonstrate musical concepts that Erv Wilson studied, but it ended being a helpful tool for sampling music in just intonation as well. Show more

    Yes! Yes! YEESSS!
Please up the connective properties of Wilsonic. Please do an IAP for an AU feature to use with a DAW or at minimum IAA or Midi out/in. Wilsonic is amazing! Thank you! Show more

Opens up new horizons for music
thank you for this. I'm glad I don't have to break the bank on a microtonal keyboard to make this great music

    Very creative application!
I have spent hours exploring the unique scales and love it!

    Unreal
Heard this on kpfk here in LA and decided I must have it! I've always been curious about microtonal music and found this app incredibly helpful and fun to use!

Gateway to the future of music!
This is a truly incredible app for anyone interested in the future of music. Lifetimes of creative possibilities contained within!

    Inspiring!
Love the app! Can't wait for the book 'Microtonality and the Tuning Systems of Erv Wilson: Mapping the Harmonic Spectrum' by Terumi Narushima to come out this summer... Keep up the good work bringing this obscure musical goldmine to the world...!!! Show more

Erv Wilson's Diagrams come to life!
People researching theories of intonation are bombarded with charts, charts, and more charts! With Wilsonic, the useful theoretical - and historical - frameworks of Erv Wilson are turned interactive and you can build intonation systems and hear them interactively! As other have commented, MIDI support (maybe even microtonal MIDI, if anything understands those messages) in and out, just so a piece could get sequenced, would be very useful, but it's quite useful and educational as it is! very great however, no MIDI
how can this not have MIDI out? It pains me. MIDI would free this app to become an extremely useful musical composition tool and instrument.

    A thing of beauty
This is clearly a labor of love and it's great to see more microtonal apps cropping up these days. I really love how Wilson's drawings have been rendered into incredibly playable musical instruments. The ability to add one's own values and create custom scales as scala files is pretty sweet as well. The addition of MIDI would transform this wonderful app into a powerful tool and one that I would use often as a playing surface. These scales become quite unwieldy when attempting to play them with a standard keyboard. I'll reserve that fifth star for midi implementation. If midi isn't in the offing, then perhaps a better synth engine in order to play with timbre and adjust envelopes. The three waveforms provided aren't terrible, but certainly could be improved upon and expanded. As it stands, this is an invaluable tool for anyone with an interest in micro tonality and Just Intonation. Don't hesitate - Get it! Show more

    I need this
But I need it to have midi out
