If you want simple this is not for you
Most drummers just want to tune their drums to sound good quickly. We are not sound engineers . Unit needs more simplified instructions and app for the drummer.

    Good
Works well as a reference in conjunction with a Tune-Bot Studio, good heads, hoops not beat to hell, good bearing surfaces and experience. Only gripe is there is no option for a 20” floor tom. And yes, there are old timers that have had their kit since the 70’s (Bonham style). I would ask the developer but looks like this app has not been updated in over 4 years. Show more

    So easy
I was able to tune a kit with really beaten down heads on the first try using the freq calc along with a drumbot. In the past i could only get drums well tuned if they were new heads. Game changer Show more

Great companion app to Tune Bot
For me, the tune bot has been a game changer in tuning. People should understand this app and/or website from them only provide starting points and recommendations. You still need to dial in your drums and ensure they are fine tuned to the note vs picking someone else’s Hz and letting it ride. Great app for quick reference though! I can delete the website bookmarks I use now. ? Show more

    Lacking features
Could be so much better as a companion to the tuner. PLEASE allow for more than 4 slots to save drum kits, and PLEASE allow for the naming of saved kits. Would make this so much more useful. Show more

    Garbage
Garbage... why would you make something that is so useless... and waste time making it... don’t get it...

    Pretty Useless for a Pro
This app is a good idea for a companion to their tuner but like the tuner it's a good idea that lacks critical features. While you can "calculate" tunings and save them you can't adjust your tunings at all. If your toms are calculated at 280hz but you actually have to tune your lugs to 288hz to get the pitch you need you CAN'T change that anywhere. Also if you're a professional drummer with 7 drum kits and 27 snare drums you can't save them either. You can't name your saved kits either so you have to remember them as Save1, etc. I'm still left with using Excel on my phone to save all this stuff anyway so what's the point ¯_(ツ)_/¯. The documentation is a great resource but you can get that on their site anyway. All in all, it's a pretty freaking useless app... but I guess it's a start. Just need to rush more development through to make it so we can actually use it. Show more

It Works, but Needs Audio Samples
I used this with my tune-bot gig. With a lot of patience I was eventually able to tune my tom and the note matched. However, it would be very useful to tap on the calculated results and be able to hear what each drum would sound like. This would make it really easy to select desired pitches. Show more

    Needs a lot of work
I'm using this along with the tunebot gig. Things I'd like to see are being able to change size and depth of the snare. Also I'd love to be able to save custom tunings, not just the ones they recommend. Looking forward to the update. There's definitely room to grow. Show more

    Warped sound
What I like about this is that it really helps me get the smooth tone on the head. Eliminates that warped sound. I find the pitch I want for each head and then tune from there. Show more

A few improvements could be made
I don't know whether or not there's an option to play the tuning frequencies but if there is I haven't found it, if there isn't there should be. They also really need to add James Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold to the artist tunings because I would love to be able to use this to tune my set up like he would have his kit. Show more

    other tuners
So this app gives me htz to tune to, I will just use my strobe tuner to accomplish the same results.

    Great information for tunning
I'm am a drummer for over 25 year. I have toured professionally and played in various studio sessions. The tune-bot is a great tool for tuning drums. I have always tuned drums by ear over the years. When I saw this product I was skeptical, but thought I would give it a try. It took a few weeks and the few different tunning styles, based off this app, to find the right one for me. I have a custom hand built 7 piece kit with 5 toms. I have always tried to tune them in thirds and fifths by ear. My drums now, using the info on this app, and using the tune-bot, sound great and are tuned 1, 3, 5, 1, 3. My snare sounds just like a got it when it was new, perfect. I'm am not endorsed by tune-bot or anybody. I just have had great results using this product and the information on this app. When tuning the drums you need use a pillow to kill the sound of the head you are not tuning and use your finger, with light pressure, in the center of the head to tune each lug. Watch the videos and try different tunings. I.e. Pitch Adjust. I used -3 and my drums sound great. Show more

    Total rip!
Looks like a ripoff of iDrumtech!
  • A6drummer, 02.11.2014
    Yuck
TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!! It's free....big frickin deal!! It's not worth the time it takes to download. I can go to a piano ( or keyboard ) and get the same results. This is like going to a gentleman's club and only seeing centerfolds taped to the pole...... Very disappointing Show more

    Tunings don't sound great
Doesn't give fundamental frequencies. Only batter and resonant, not combined heads. Doesn't allow you choose the type of kit. I was not getting sounds I wanted even after trying multiple resonant frequencies. I want the idrumtech app back. Show more

    Not many options
There aren't many tuning options. I tune my set to an open tuning for max resonance and that is not an option with this app. I would like to have the option of specific drum kits recommended tunings. The number of plies, the type of wood, the model of the kit, the brand, the depth of the shells all play a big role in tuning a drum. I understand this is the first version, so hopefully it will get bigger and better. Show more
