Solves the problems I've been having with my airpods. Seems fairly inobtrusive as well (except for this prompt to write a review, haha, but I bet that goes away now). Ability to turn on/off notifications for when balance is restored is a great feature, it'll remind me of this app for a time when I hopefully have to uninstall it, OR, if I ever get tired of the notifications, I can turn them off and just let it keep doing its thing. It's really sad that this app exists soley to resolve a long-standing bug in macOS where audio balance will drift left/right on a MacBook.

It's sort of hillarious I have to install an app to fix an obvious bug in Mac OS that is easily reproducible. The bug is that the balance on my iMac 27" 2015 I7 (using Monterey 12.6.2) changes to what appears like random settings when adjusting volume while the speaker is powering up. Perhaps the KEF LSX II is part of the problem. My iMac is connected to the speakers via USB. The problem happens VERY EASILY with the balance messed up when I adjust volume. This problem has never occured with any other audio ouput incl. DACs, but now it's a more often than not. The need for such "bug fix app" is an embarassment for Apple and I don't really enjoy thinking about my CPU wasting energy monitoring an Apple bug misbehaving. Show more

Apple should just buy this, first off... I mean.... come on. Thanks for making this free. BUT, I hate having stuff in my menubar. Especially, since this really is just a "set it and forget it" app. I've seen other apps that have an app icon in Applications, you run them, but their dock icon is not visible AND they don't have a menubar icon. PLEASE, do the same. If that's difficult, would happily pay even a $5 IAP for it. Thanks for making this... why Apple, why? Show more

I've constantly felt like I might've changed the audio balance, my headphones were getting old, or my hearing was off because the audio balance kept changing by itelsf. This app fixes that issue, but it's been a long kown issue and should've been resolved by Apple through software updates. Show more

I have an audio setup which inexplicable adjusts the balance on its own. This app puts it back. Does the exact job needed, as far as I can tell perfectly every time. Show more

Had the balance shift issue on my mac for few weeks (QC35 Monterey) and could not solve the issue (BT reset, delete device and more). Headphones connect ok to any other mac but this one. Also, in calls (Zoom, MS Teams) the balance was ok, it was only in non-call mode that I had the issue. BalanceLock is a work around but it works! Show more

I went on a web search to try to find a solution to the L/R balance always offsetting when I have my B&W PX's connected to my 16" MBP. This app completely solves that issue! But It always is taking up menue bar space and I have no way of hiding it which for me is a bigger annoyance. I have since uninstalled it. If there was a way to choose to have it run from the dock or even in the background that would be perfect. Again otherwise a perfect app to fix a long time apple bug. Show more

I got this because every time I connect my airpods max the audio would switch to an imbalanced mode. This app has saved me the time and annoyance of fixing this issue. Realisitcally apple needs to fix their bug but until then im grateful for this app even though it shouldn't be needed in the first place Show more

It is unconscionable that my Macbook Pro can't keep its audio centered but I thank my lucky stars I have this app to compensate for it goofing up constantly.

Great utility! But... it's really unfortunate that I need to download a third party app to solve a macOS glitch. That's bad enough: I don't need a constant reminder of this glitch and this third-party workaround in the menu bar. Please consider making a version of this utility that can function in the background without the menu bar icon (many other Mac apps, like "Rectangle" for window management, do such a thing). The app seems to work properly, but it popped up a window out of nowhere asking for a review. That's an automatic one star.

It works as expected, but I am unable to hide it from the Menu Bar. Given that I do not need to interact with the app at all once it's running, this is a major missing feature. I have limited space on my Menu Bar. Show more
