It’s the best amp sim on any platform
So many tones; it’s so worth it.

    Pops
Sounds great. My issue is after playing for a few minutes it makes a popping sound through my amp. I close the app and open it back up and it’s fine. I play for a few minutes and it begins popping again. Show more

Tone Stack Pro released, no upgrade for #3 users
This really disappointed me. I have to now she’ll out the same amount I paid for 3 but really all I want out of it is auv3 support. Why not offer us #3 users a complete upgrade for like $10. For the entire upgrade. All amps, fx, etc. I own all your gear. Very sad that you just want me to purchase it all over again. Show more

    Needs update
This was my go-to app for solo practicing, but it hasn’t been updated in over three years. Now I can no longer import backing tracks from my music library, which was the main thing I used it for. And no reply from support. Seems like the developers retired and are just milking it. It still sounds ok and doesn’t spam you with ads like IK’s apps, but at least they keep up with new iOS versions. I’m blown away. Great sounding App!
I have been waiting for the sale on the mother load and bundles and got them and they are amazing!!! I’m a producer/keyboard player who plays guitar for “fun” but don’t consider myself a pro by any mean but I do have heard and played with MANY amp sims going back to the original line6 POD years ago and I really think the amp and Stomp sims are outstanding in tonestack. I haven’t played a lot since earlier this year and took it out and hooked up to tonestack and played for like 3 hours till my fingers were sore ! So much fun trying different Amps and stomps! I then ran my montage clavinet wound through the wah and cranked a Marshall with delay wow what a sound. Can’t wait to incorporate tonestack into my live rig and start playing again! Thanks YONAC! Sorry, not liking it
Too many effects disabled. Not intuitive to use. Sounds ok, but not that great. Over-hyped, in my opinion.

    Very Dissapointed
The basic version deos not even come with a useable Delay! Only a Echoplex immitation that sounds like crap. The 2.0 and 3.0 presets are unuseable in the basic package because they require in app purchases. For the amount of money they want for the extras, I could buy a Real Pedalboard. Ten dollars for one effect??? Don't waste your time or money on this unless all you need are a few so so sounding rigs! Show more

    Truly spectacular and glorious
As a garageband owner I have enjoyed their guitar amps, but I had no idea tonestack would be the end all and be all. This is, no doubt, the greatest app I have ever owned. I can just plug in and play these astounding amps and effects for hours. As an electric guitar player I would normally quibble, BUT I’M NOT EVEN GOING TO QUIBBLE. Hats off to Yonac. Show more

    NOTHING touches Tonestack, NOTHING....
Hands down the best guitar sound processing app on the appstore, or anywhere else, for that matter (Bias amp is Good, and Bias Fx is, too, but it is too buggy and hard to tweak just right to get it to sound decent, and every effect added to an amp, diminishes the sound quality, quite extraordiinarily — NONE OF THAT WITH TONESTACK). All the effects here in Tonestack, are fantastic sounding, and quite organic, too, as are all the amplifiers (the Vox and Fender amps are STUNNING). It seems like most people griping here about it either don’t have a decent interface with which to use it, and so as to be able to tweak it just right to get all the available monster tones, or simply aren’t experimenting with it enough. Some of the negative reviews actually shock me, because Tonestack sounds so good to me, and right out of the gate. Every time. Anyway, I have been using it since its inception (around 2014) and it’s hands down my go to app for guitar, and I have them ALL. I wish to God they made a desktop version for the Mac, but who knows if that will ever happen. Also, Yonac, I’M TALKIN’ TO YOU!! Are there going to be any updates soon, it has been a year now, without an update...perhaps NEW GEAR SOON?? Love you guys!! Show more

    This app is a ripoff!
I bought this app after I downloaded the free ToneStack go. Using ToneStack go I purchased a rotary effect pedal. You would think that the $9.99 version ToneStack would recognize that I had purchased this pedal. But no. It requires me to purchase it again. Also for a $9.99 app it offers an extremely small amount of effects, amps, etc. and on top of it all, I asked for my money back from the App Store but it told me that ToneStack is no available for refunds. I can assure you that I will never purchase anything from this developer. They are not very nice. They should at least give me my money back if I’m not happy with the product. Ripoff!!! Show more

    The tone isn’t good
I like this dev but if you’re looking for decent guitar tone this is not it, especially anything with distortion. Cleans are ok but not great very thin. Design of the app is great and has lots of content, but tone is lacking. Show more

    Another great app from Yonac
I’ve been trying a few different options for real-time multi effects to use on synths and saxophone. Some laptop VST effects, individual effects on iOS (Filtatron), Amplitube, etc. I think the overall audio quality on ToneStack is quite good. In particular, I really like the Echo and Magellan filter. Where I think the Yonac app really excels is the user interface. It’s very intuitive and even on iPhone it’s very easy to create a chain with 4 or 5 effects and switch them on and off. While I could chain together an excellent group of effects using my laptop host, using a mouse pointer isn’t the easiest way to control everything. I’m very glad that I decided to check this out. Question
What is the difference between ToneStack and ToneStack Go?
  • GabrielQ, 15.10.2017
    Tone doesn't Stack up
Let me preface this by saying I recently switched from a 12 pedal pedalboard to an iPad based setup with a guitar wing and source audio hot hand USB for control. I mostly just wanted to copy the setup I have on my pedalboard but for full wireless and pedal free operation. Have been using bias fx, but got this because I really like how much better the midi control options are on this. Really wanted this to work because the midi control is pretty great. However, it doesn't deliver where it counts: the sound. The overdrive/distortion sounds just don't cut it, they sound like modeled tones, whereas bias actually sounds real. Tried really hard to dial in convincing tones and couldn't do it. Also, the phase 90 clone is horrible and tone sucking, and that's a huge part of my playing, so that is a killer right there. The ups: I will say though, I use the wah as a iaa w/ bias, it sounds much better and responds much better to midi control. Echorec in ToneStack sounds pretty good too. I might try the poly octave too, because I'm not terribly happy w/ bias fx's version. I mean, if you want 90's/early 00's level modeling sounds, this has a ton of options, and great control... but I'm accustomed to the real gear, and the Tone just doesn't Stack up for what I need on the core sounds. Something got fixed and now it’s awesome
Edit: after the update to iOS 11, everything is working and it is awesome. I use this now. Old post: I have to restore purchases every time I open it. Every. Single. Time. I use Jam Up Pro for this reason. Normally I love Yonac apps, but this problem has been here since the 2.0 update. Show more

    Pocket Guitar Effects Suite
So I love analog effects and tubes and vintage gear. I have spent too much money on things my skill level doesn't deserve. What Yonac has made here is truly breath taking. The sound quality of these effects are the best out of all the iOS apps, yes I bought them all, yes they are all good, this is the best. The effects are so good that sometimes when I'm recording using waves plugins (guitar tool kit) on Logic Pro, I think to myself, I wish I could use Yonac's ToneStack in Logic Pro, no joke that has crossed my mind several times. If they make a plugin pack for logic I will buy it. There is a downside to this, it can be a major distraction when it comes to productivity during practice, I usually end up just jamming with myself and doing layering on layering on layering and not actually practicing, and that is because the delays and reverbs are truly incredible. This full suite is well worth the price for any fellow effects lover, it's just truly fun. Things that don't work very well? Wah's, Whammy, really anything that uses a midi expression pedal, and that's just cuz midi expression pedals are not as smooth as real ones, unless someone knows of a better one I should be using, please tell me! bottom line: If you like playing with guitar effects, buy this and an iRig Pro or Apogee Jam to go with it. Turns your phone into a pedal board that fits in your pocket. P.S. I have done a few live shows using just my iPhone running ToneStack and a midi foot pedal switch and plugging into the venues PA. Every time other guitarists onsite are blown away by the tone and effects I get out of a 40 dollar app. Truly this thing is incredible. Show more

    The Best!
I've been trying to find a good amp sim for 10+ years, including various hardware modelers. I've tried all the iOS apps and this leaves them in the dust; I've yet to find a better, organic 'tube' sound and have drawn compliments using this for open mics. The only nits: while it is possible to save/share settings, the app doesn't have any kind of community feature to faciliate sharing presets (the company's forum has a thread for this, but it isn't very active). I also wish there were a way to get ToneStack on my Mac! Show more

    Great all purpose guitar app
The standard version comes with a solid array of gear to use. The extra gear is also reasonably priced. I do wish there was a try before you buy feature, but they often put gear packages on sale as a bonus. Show more
