This software simply didn't work. It creates blank audio files. I emailed the company, who got back to me and asked what version of the OS I was using. I answered High Sierra. Have yet to hear from them. It seems to me, however, that a company which markets software should be on top of any updates to the OS and make sure their software works with the new versions before the sale. Show more

Needed to record good quality voice comments and be able to provide the recordings in various formats. I’ve been using Rec ‘Em several times a week for well over a year and have been happy with it. There's just this one annoying quirk. Every single time I launch the app for the first time - it immediately crashes. Fortunately, after relaunching it works fine for that session. Other than that - it does what it says it does well. Show more

Running on Mac Yosemite … no ability even to select microphone. Waste of money.

I have tried this audio recording software for a while and have experiences crashes on 100% cases where the recoding session is longer than 35min. It works fine for shorter recording session. I only gave the second star because it works for short recording sessions. Show more

Giving it a 3 because of two things: 1) When I was finished using the application I put away the device I was recording from and then accidently quit the application. It quit with no dialog to ask if I wanted to save first and no way to recover. Since I’d deleted the VM message I was recording I have now permanently lost the very thing I was trying to preserve. Mainly my own fault, but this is a pretty basic feature of almost every application, 2) The app does what it says it does but it is pretty simple and limited (e.g. can’t change input source from within program, have to go to settings). Seems a little light weight for a really high rating considering its a paid for app. There’s a lot of grade inflation out there with 5 and 1 seeming to be the only rating anyone gives these days. I needed it for a conference this weekend. Used it to record the keynote speech by the director of department, and it worked nicely. The interface was didn’t interfere with my other tasks (I was also taking some notes). The quality of those recordings were decent - loud and clear. And like some other reviewers mentioned in their comments, the mail sharing function was a nice touch, so convenient! I’d say $2 well spent. Show more

I origionally downloaded this app to help record mp3 memos to myself, but there's a problem. Pro: The recording picks up my voice. Con: there is a distortion to the flow of my voice, in other words, it's making me sound choppy. I don't think it's my mic because I have another recorder that picks up my voice fine [it isn't downloaded as an mp3 file]. I hope the bug gets fixed so I can put some use to this app! Thanks. I’ve had this app on my mac for over a month. Mostly I used it to record memos and short lectures. It worked perfectly fine and didn’t crash or quit unexpectedly once. And I super like how seamlessly it works with Mail, which is great for me to send out some recorded lectures to my study group buddies. Totally recommnad it. Show more

The app itself is great. Design is eye-cataching enough to help it stand out from the crowd, and the mail sharing function is nice. But what really made me give it a such high rating was the developer’s obsession with details. When I deleted a recording from the inner list, the app not only did that but also moved the file to Trash, so I wouldn’t have to find it myself through spotlight and then do the removal (I dont have a hugh harddrive, so every megabyte counts). It really saved my time and energy! Show more

used it to record my roomie’s snoring last night…hahahaha… sneaked into his room after he fell asleep and left the laptop on the nightstand with this app running. It recorded like 6 hours of his funny snoring and sleep talks! Great stabilty, didn’t crash, freez or anything once the whole time. Very reliable! BTW, the recording quality was nice. Would be better if this app had editing features. BUT, hey the price wouldn’t be just 4 bucks, would it? Show more

Absolutely love the looks of this little app. Definitely beautiful! I needed it for a seminar and it worked flawlessly well.
