This tuner is just the best in terms of layout and simplicity. But what’s holding it back are two things: 1) There is no option to create custom tunings. This is a very easy feature to implement since the tuner already has all the chromatic notes available, just let the user decide how many strings they want the metaphorical instrument to have and then let the user pick the note / Hz of those strings 2) This app needs a better way to store or save favorite tunings instead of a single scroll list with no good way to jump to what you want. Through my years (3 years) of playing guitar and mandolin I’ve struggled to find a perfect tuner; most of the ones I’ve used aren’t spot on to the note, can’t pick up sound, and have a terrible design. But fine tuner has a simple design with no complexity, and is able to pick up your instrument over others playing around you. And after a year of using this tuner, I think it’s safe to say that this is the tuning perfect tuning app. One thing that I would love to see, is the l “favorite” feature where you favorite your tuning so that way you can easily get to it instead of surfing through all the others. I often switch from open g, to standard, to dadgad, and many others and often find it time consuming to find the tuning I’m looking for. Although it’s not a puzzle to get to your tuning, it would be easier with the favorite feature. Show more

Perfect

The subtitle states “guitar, bass, violin and more!” but anything other than guitar COSTS more. It will only do guitar notes fir the free version. Change the subtitle please; it was a waste of a download for me. The free version does allow to change from the standard 440 Hz, so that was something, but there are other totally free apps that does that for ALL notes, so I am deleting this app so one app will work for all. Did not work one bit almost broke my instrument using this app

Best tuner hands down. Change the frequency? Sure. Need a metronome? No problem. Want to do some moody blues or Jazz? Got those chords for you. Any style of tuning you name it, it’s got it. I use it at guitar center all the time. And my phone never has problems catching the pitch. Show more

I only use this tuner for rock electric bass playing, so it’s good enough for that kind of tuning. I’m not sure if it would be accurate on classical bass for symphony orchestra playing, my first love. Show more

As a noobie guitar player, I’ve found this to be the most intuitive and easy to use tuner available. It has everything you need, and nothing more. Perfect style.
