It doesn’t work on iPhone 11 with DR-44WL.

Why did I update my Tascam for Wi-fi when the app is useless? What a waste.

Struggled with the app at first since I wasn’t aware there were firmware updates for my DR-44WL. Once you install the firmware, the app is able to find the device and function how it’s supposed to. Also, helpful and responsive customer support! Show more

You have to manually update the device via a laptop. The phone app to device don’t work. Used my Macbook Pro, usb cable to DR-22WL did the firmware transfer procedure they outlined in the instructions .PDF. It updated with a hitch, an App so far is working. If anything changes I’ll update my review! Show more

Used to be fine

iPhone 11 Pro, no dice... ‘cannot find’ DE-44WL

I am very happy with the app. It makes remote receding easy. No issues at all.

Such a good idea so haphazardly put together. Way too slow in making it even functional after release. Connecting to a router is well and good (that at most remotes there isn't a secure network available notwithstanding) but I can't connect to my home router. Not that I ever use the Tascam at home but it saves me the trouble of wasting time with that feature in the field). Making the remote direct to device work beyond a few feet would make more sense. At least for the past few months it's been worth using that way, so I'm pleased about that. But it's frustrating that the plus about using it is that it improves on the unit's terrible interface (especially where input functions and levels are concerned) so you basically should use it, but the ios app is so poorly executed that it's 5 steps forward and 5 back. Seems like Tascam didn't even test it before advertising and releasing it, and firmware updates haven't really changed much (except make it actually work) until recent ones. Very slow in that regard. Love this app and now the 44WL can connect right to the router. So app and recorder will be on the same wifi network.

Tascam... I LOVE YOU. Thank you for listening to the requests of your customers. This is exactly the update we've been waiting for. This makes me SO excited to use my DR-44WL now! I'll be recommending this to everyone. Great update! Show more

Not a terrible app but seems more of an afterthought. Having the same issues as the other reviewers but also this app for me constantly crashes while switching between files or tasks. For everyone's sake please update this app!!! Show more

Please add following features to get higher rating: -Ability to upload to dropbox -Ability to email. -Ability to delete files from the app.

Can't delete files from the app. Can't LIVE listen with stream enabled or record while live streaming. Bummer.. This thing should allow for renaming and uploading as well. And include a way to see the SD card name for organizational purposes. Everything else seems pretty nice.. basic functionality allows for full remote use on the positive side. But it's file limitations dampen workflow. Show more

I got my DR-22WL due to its ability to connect to my phone and iPad via WiFi. There are three features sorely lacking in this software. Be aware of these. First, I can find no way to delete files on my iPad once they are transferred. You gotta be kidding me! Second, once the file is on my iPad, the only thing I can do with it is play it or upload it to soundcloud. Where the heck is the email function. Both of these flaws are basic functions that make the WiFi aspect of my DR-22wl nearly worthless. Come on, Tascam! Get this fixed! The third flaw, while not a deal breaker, is an annoyance. The software only runs in portrait, no landscape mode. Fix these three flaws and this would be an excellent bit of software! The DR-22WL itself is great. But due to these software limitations, the DR-05 is probably a better deal. Show more

Streaming has to be manually enabled each time

This works great with my DR-22WL. The ability to use my iPhone as a controller is very handy, and I especially like being able to upload files into SoundCloud. The lack of ability to delete files on my phone, however--seemingly obvious and trivial to implement functionality--is bizarre. Show more

I can't delete the files that I transferred from the device.

This app could be great... But there are some MAJOR things that need fixed and addressed. 1.) you can't connect to soundcloud, so that feature, although a phenomenal idea, is useless right now. 2.) You can't delete transferred files which is ridiculous. 3.) there is no live monitoring from the iPhone- it just plays through the crappy speakers on the device. That pretty much defeats the purpose of the entire app. Fix this stuff and it'd be a great app! Show more

Great app, folks! They are right about recording in MP3 for wifi streaming. And designers... :) maybe a landscape orientation as well? Love the device too!
