    Surprisingly good and useful app!
Now that they are all Auv3 these apps have become so much more useful. I own many of the best retro drum sample packs out there and I really love the choice of LM sounds used in this app. Still can’t get over how much I’m using this little machine, it truly has a very retro sound to it, the sequencer just makes the rhythms sound “right” to my ear. I’m grabbing the rest of the bundle that I don’t have tonight! Show more

Sounds don’t match labels, rows are reversed??
I just bought and downloaded the app, was having fun playing around, but then noticed the sounds of the rows are reversed as to how they are labeled.

    Love it!
Updating my review to reiterate how much I love this app. I gave it 5 stars before, and I’ll give it 5 stars again. It’s honestly my favorite drum machine app, and the one I go to more often than not. I think it does an excellent job capturing the Linn vibe. The mix control for each part alters the characteristic of the sound, and gives you a large palette of sounds to work with. My only real complaint is that I wish the Congas and Toms had separate pan controls for the high and low pads, so that you are able to pan the high and low Congas/Toms independently. Other than that, I couldn’t be happier with this app. It’s nice to have a dedicated Linn app, versus messing with samples. I have the Classic Machines pack for Cubasis, and I think this app does a better job emulating the Linn Drum. If you’re a fan of the Linn Drum, this is definitely a must-have, especially if you want to be able to fine tune each of the sounds to your liking. Show more

Great drum app especially as an AUv3
Love the set of drum apps from Elliott Garage. They have a nice retro sound and i really dig the interface. Now that all apps, including this one, are updated and can also be used as audio units it really makes them a great collection of apps to own. Also very good support from thr developer. Some of the older reviews are very harsh although people might have their reasons to be that way, but some of the mentioned issues seem to have been resolved with the recent update. Syncing works great with Link. I think you should still give this app and the other ones from this developer a chance. You can’t go very wrong at this price point. There is something about these apps that makes me keep coming back to them. Thumbs up ?? Show more

Old and good for the money
No idea how close the emulation is to original hardware. I don’t think a beat sequencer is necessary. I was looking for a cheap software introduction to classic drum machines and this fit the bill perfectly. Show more

    Terrible
Doesn’t receive clock or MMC. This is the very basics of midi implementation a drum machine should offer. Not worth the money. Avoid!

Nowhere near an LM-1 - disappointing
So when I saw this I got very excited. The LM-1 is a piece of equipment that gave Prince some of his signature sounds. Since this app has a basis on the LM-1, I thought the sounds would be much closer to the real thing. Not so. Show more

Needs work. Some sounds are incorrect
Not a bad effort. However, some of the sounds are incorrect, most notably the high and low Toms, clave and the snares. While appluad the effort, more work needs to be done. There should be a 4 beat mode, since most songs were written that way. I tried to program one of Prince's songs (Computer Blue), but couldn't due to the 2 beat limit. More work needs to be done to make this work like the original LM-1 Drum Computer. Show more

    Good, but.......
Drum sounds and workflow are pretty much like the original drum machine. With that in mind, it's a very strange thing that the closed hi hat doesn't choke the open hi hat. The people that made the very early drum machines knew that a hi hat can't be open and closed at the same time. This oversight is pretty ridiculous. The fact that there's the same problem with your virtual 808 is even more ridiculous. You guys really have to fix that. It's incredible that you would go through all the trouble of recreating such an authentic experience just to have it ruined by such an obvious oversight. Show more

    Pretty good but needs work
Worth the price just for the samples and basic functionality. Sequencing functions are a nightmare. Grid style programming of patterns a la 808/909 will help a lot at least. As would the ability to load both Linn Drum samples as we'll as LM-1. Show more

Authentic Linn sounds: good. Authentic programming: bad.
This app sounds great. If you grew up in the 80s, you will instantly recognize the sounds of the Linn LM-1 Drum Computer and rejoice that you can now incorporate them into your own music. But as much as we all owe to Roger Linn, Roland did some things better, and one of them was the programming interface. This app is like the original machine, in that you program the machine by playing it. That works, and I'm sure for drummers it works very well. If you're not a drummer, the app will even quantize your hits, correcting any errors. What you can't do is select hits on a grid, the way you can with most DAWs and most modern drum machines (including this developer's own previous drum apps, which emulate the Roland TR-808 and TR-909). Sure, this method of programming the Linn is authentic. But does that make it sound better? I doubt it. Please, Mr. Elliott, just give us the step sequencer interface that you already wrote for your Roland apps. Show more

great app, great support, 80s all over again
This is such a great app, true to the core of this 80s monster of a drum machine. spectacular recreation, when you hear the sounds you’re transported to the era and you recognize almost immediately what song used that sound. looking forward to the growth of this app.. Show more
