Try it! You will not be disappointed!
This app provides a marvelously innovative approach to understanding and creating rhythmic patterns. It has profoundly changed how I think about music. It’s hard to overstate the value and simplicity of the insights the app provides using these rotationally symmetric patterns. It takes a little mind bending to wrap your brain around the possibilities, but it has now become an essential tool for me. Bravo to the creators!! Show more

    Broken Functionality!
The mail functionality is broken and there isn’t an option to save/export a MIDI file to your file system. I tried my iPhone 13 with iOS 16.1.1 and an old iPad mini 2 with iOS 12.5.6. The app itself is fantastic aside from not being able to use the fruits of your labor. I really hope the original developer addresses these shortcomings or passes the app on to someone that can. brilliant
Intuitive and flexible // balance and chaos are always a step away // you’ll find poly rhythms forever // I only wish I had found this sooner

    Amazing
An intuitive and fun way to map out complex rhythms. Controls and settings are easy to use and very effective. I think this is the coolest way to create a visual of beats that make up rhythms and grooves Show more

    Great Practice Tool
Rhythm Necklace is a easy and elegant way to make odd meter and polyrhythmic practice grooves. Highly recommended.

    Necklace Rhythm app
As a companion to this app, I would recommend: “The Geometry of Musical Rhythm” by Godfried Toussaint, CRC Press.

    Elegant and intuitive
Rhythm Necklace is a wonderfully elegant and intuitive music making tool. You do not need to be a "Musician" to make beautiful and interesting music with it, and in this way it encourages us all to partake in the joy of making music from the shapes and patterns that live all around us. It also teaches us important basics of how music works, but without "instruction"-- purely through play and experimentation. Great for all people. Show more

    Awesome way to experiment
This app is great. I like figuring out the rhythms on paper and then trying them out with the app. It's good how it can adjust tempo for each cycle if they have different amount of beats. It would also be interesting to keep all cycles the same tempo so that they get off track with each other. Show more

    So inspired
I love this app. It is fun and easy to use. I find it so useful for coming up with seeds for future song development. I don't often have large blocks of time to dedicate to making music and this makes it so easy to grab those brief moments I do have and make the most of them. I use it with its own sounds. I also use it for its midi capabilities. It has inspired. Show more

    excellent addition to one's toolkit
When immersed in a composing project, I find Necklace to be a wonderful scratchpad for helping capture and refine my odd-meter earworms.

    This update broke saves
As I have gone in and updated some beats, they are replaced with and crash the app when I try to open them. Most of my work is gone now

The excitement I felt upon discovering this app was beyond measure - As I've learned so much from Sam via his many amazing MaxMsp tutorials. It's a wonderful concept - a twisted Euclidean sequencer with many unique features. Amazing stuff - just as I would have expected from a fellow who has claimed (via his videos) to be my "best friend". Thank you, Sam! Hope to see many more apps in the future! Show more

Awesome, but needs native iPad support badly..
16 / 32 / 64 nodes on different pages would be perfect. Hats off to them developers on what they've built already tho - super fun and useful too. Immediately became one of the apps I use daily. Show more

    Great but Flawed
This program is a lot of fun. And it is quite deep. For me I needed to start slow and play with some basic rhythms in order to see all the possibilities. The program, however, does not work on the iPad right now. This is disappointing. In the description it says that it does and I saw a video demonstration on the iPad. I also found a bug where one "channel" did not play. I had to create a new session and then it was fine. I did try to contact the author. He did not respond. And, of course, I don't know if he actually received the email. Even with the problems, it's a great program. I love that it works with MIDI and that it is immediately responsive when making changes.
