I’ve been playing guitar for around a year now and I’ve never tried a hand at theory and memorizing notes on the fretboard, I’ve used internet tabs to play cool covers. While my only wish for the app was a free play mode where I could tap a fret and it show and sound the note, it is an amazing app that not only has contributed to my playing after a few hours of using, but has also given me insight into how much further guitar goes then megadeth covers on YouTube. This is the primary tool I am using to learn the fretboard. It’s fantastic!

After 1 day of playing, I was already so much better at fretboards! The lessons are good, but it’s sad there are only five of them. This game also challenges you, which makes it even better and easier to learn! The only thing I think should be better, is there should be more games and challenges. I’ve had this tool for about a year, but never really “got it” until I committed to learning the notes on the fretboard. This game became instantly more useful, as I can pick up and play it almost everywhere even when there’s no guitar around. I’ve found a few minor bugs as other reviews have noted, but nothing that takes away from the utility of the game. My only minor gripe is on the Scales section, it’s a bit difficult to figure out which scale you’re selecting, since the last word is cut off. Maybe if you made tour selection from a pull down list? No option to view the fretboard left handed.

I play guitar left handed normally, but this app’s guitar is backwards from what I’m normally used to. Please add in a setting where I can change it from a right handed POV to a left handed. This app throws me off because of that fact I’m not used to a right POV Show more

Def helps learn the notes of the guitar. Look forward to more types of challenges in the future.

Literally within 10 minutes of playing this game I learned & memorized about 33% of the fret boards notes!

Good app but needs more challenges

You can play it in your free time everywhere. The graphics is wonderful.

This is the best of all the trainers. Nice job.

Doesn’t seem to work anymore. Training (find on fretboard, show on fretboard and play along) just shows the fretboard. The sessions never start up.

The updates make the “challenge” a lot less fun. Clunky. Please give us back the original game.....the one that I paid for.

This app is awesome and you guys have done a great job on it. Super efficient and really cool graphics! There are two things I wish you all could add however! 1: Show the 12th fret. I sometimes “count down” to the note but it’s difficult to visualize that when it’s not there. 1.1: This would take a bit longer but also being able to get quizzed passed the 12th fret! Although it’s the same pattern it can still trip anyone up. The “dots” are different, the frets are smaller, etc. This would be helpful for solos/scales! 2: The ability to test on ONLY natural notes. This would help with people starting out. Once you nail these you can easily sharpen or flatten notes. Please please please add these options! Other than that, great job!
