I got this app on iPad after reading a magazine article. It was fun, and the kids liked it - my husband, a drummer, appreciated the way it approached tone and rhythm. But it crashed more than it worked, and when we downloaded it on our Apple TV, it has forced us to complete endless rhythm cycles before accessing the "compose" feature. The kids kept saying "let's go to the castle!" (The compose feature) But it would never appear. Show more

We received this app for free from Starbucks, and THANK YOU STARBUCKS!!! My 3 year old is writing music, and he doesn't even know it! Let me tell you something else, my husband & I have both caught the other playing gleefully with the animals to create a song! Great colors, great graphics, great sound, it's a total win! Show more

Easy music is a great app to train the student's ear. In a bilingual/ International school it makes perfect sense to introduce music like a language and get the ear use to another variety of sounds. Easy music has an easy access and provides a window for learning differently. Students like it a lot, big hit ! Show more

Definitely not user friendly. I spent several tries getting used to this, hoping it would be good for my grand babies. They're very smart, but I think it would take awhile for them to get any enjoyment out of this. Show more

What a great way to engage kids in the basic concepts of music - well done!

This is a great app. I played all the modules and found it well done, well sequenced, and highly engaging. As a music teacher, the only small but significant changes I would request are to the Whale module, which has a great concept. I would love it even more if the stalks were spaced to consistently reflect the intervals between the pitches. I appreciate that attention was given to the vertical proportions - I would like to see the same attention applied to the horizontal proportions: 1/2 steps between steps 3 and 4, and between 7 and 8. It would also help with spatial reasoning if the stalk for each pitch always appeared in the same place, with gaps for pitches not in use at any given level. Further, if you could mirror what you did with the piano module and use the Boomwhacker colors for the stalks (C = Do = Red; D = Re = Orange, etc), it would provide an additional level of reinforcement and consistency.
