Love the way the creators of this app combined explanations from real people and practicals so you can play (and be rated). The instructors are really clear when they pass knowledge. Much more so than most on YouTube. And the practicals are made from songs people like. I have a Yamaha 88-weighted key electric piano and connected my iPad to it. Then I open this app and follow their course (working on the one for beginners rn). My only complaint is that sometimes I play a key and the app doesn’t recognize that I have done so and marks me down. I’ve used this to my advantage to play that session again. This app gives me hope that I can learn how to read music. And that I get the hang of playing with two hands. And that I learn which fingers I need to place on which notes. Super excited to continue!!! Thank you, creators, for making such a clean app. You rock!!! Show more

Not user friendly and will not let you attach your keyboard nor other promises made on website

I can’t set up a Bluetooth midi device in playground sessions. Have to go to another competitor app to set up keyboard and then return to playground sessions. Annoying to have to do it each time Show more

I did like it when I used it, but now I keep struggling my apologies.

You need to get apple pen interfaced into the so we can make annotation’s when suggested figuring is wrong etc

Love this app - instant feedback, great songs and lessons and at an affordable price. Really great app and love that these guys are making learning piano accessible to all.

I understand the beginner and intermediate levels aren’t how the artist intended the song to be played due to difficulty level, but why not make the advanced version accurate with the original song? Not a fan of the melody and other fillers added in when the original song has a piano not playing those notes. Would also like a practice mode option where the time stops until the correct chords/notes are played before it continues. Otherwise great app! Show more

Great learning software! Couldn’t play my keyboard without it!

Great music lesson app, my mom payed for everything and it’s helped me lots! Little expensive though…

I am just now using the new app.. bit of a learning curve but nice.

A much more beautiful alternative to the dated pc app. However, holding the pedal sustains the sound but doesn’t show that it was played correctly. It will always score an error if the key isn’t held over the measures. Show more

If you can get the app to work for 3 consecutive days it would be a great tool. We’ve never made it past 2 days without login, keyboard recognition or today a new fun one “you’ve exceeded your 4 device limit”. We’ve only ever had it on one single iPad. With all the keyboard issues I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled a bunch but always on the same old iPad. Now it is saying my password I’ve always had and saved to auto fill is wrong. So I can’t even login in to fill out a tech support form. Reset a new password and it’s saying too many failed attempts. Why all this security to practice piano, if someone hacks my account who cares? Let them learn piano or maybe figure out how to get the app to work. Show more

I never thought I could play music until I found this app! This goes slow and fast has so many selections of songs and is overall amazing! I have a song genera request though… Country!! Especially the song “5 foot 9” by Tyler Hubbard. Thank you for all you do Playground Sessions!! Show more

Playground is so much better than I expected. I’ve tried to learn many times and in many different ways and this app is the only thing that has worked. It’s super fun and I’m making great progress. I’m very happy with my decision! Best way to learn. So many songs to learn:) Show more

Generally very pleased with the pace of the lessons. I’m working right from the beginning of boot camp and have started to see some issues. At around lesson 60 the video segments are already very repetitive, covering ground that was previously discussed. Also, the MIDI connection has become very poor, the app is only recognizing a fraction of what I’m playing, requiring me to repeat many parts. I have to restart the app, disconnect and reconnect MIDI and restart my piano, sometimes multiple times. Show more

I feel it’s better than yousician

Does not work on an iPhone. I contacted playground sessions and spoke with William and they confirmed it does not work with 15.4.1 and later updates. Do not update your iOS otherwise this app will no longer work. Very poor customer service. Show more

So awesome and well explained.

I love the app. I learnt a little bit as a child and always wanted to get back to it. Tried a few apps and found playground sessions as the best one if you truly want to learn. I highly recommend. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m really learning! There is a lot to like but I really like all of the teachers and video lessons which make it so much easier to learn ? Show more

Love it !-Sort of. Well mostly I do because I learned so much great songs! Just a few Q’s. Where is that LEGENDARY piano player you’re going all talk talk about? I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for him. Why? Well, I’m a mere eleven year old girl and was looking for a piano teaching app. That was only after my Mum was upset with JoyTunes. So our Yamaha was advertising A LOT about your app so we got it. It wasn’t BAD or anything. But I searched your app WIDE ALL OVER for that music legend of yours but I couldn’t find it. Help!! Also I want to be as good as him. So HELP!!!(Again.) Also please make it easier to access the songs. Now, other than that, it’s a good app, and I recommend that people try it.
