    Excellent
Core responsibility of a bass in the band is holding down the groove. This app helps you develop that skill. Gary is a groove master and playing with a drummer like Gergo Borlai will surely improve your time feel. Show more

    Fantastic platform for rhythm section
Gary Willis is the man! This app has given me a way to expand my musical vocabulary and timing. You can practice and implement layers of creativity while having fun. I recommend this app for drummers and bass players. Show more

    Sick! Love it....
It's like having these great groove dudes in your cell phone! Love it.... working my vocals, violin, and bass over the grooves already! Great job!!

    Four-stringers be aware
Easy and intuitive to use, with short enough examples that it should be easy to keep up practicing one exercise per day. Just be aware that (at least in what I've seen so far) these are performed and notated for five-string bass, with heavy use of that low B-string. If you're using a four-string, you'll often have to re-finger, tune down, or play an octave higher to play along. Show more

    Oh man, this is sweet!
Not only is Gary Willis a very kind person, an incredibly creative bass player, and one super funky dude, he's always impressed me with his inclusion of technology in music. Afaik, Willis was one of the first bass players to really use the web as a tool to reach other bass players, he was one of the first to do video & online lessons, and turned me on to the use of the Yamaha Q100 very early on. And now we have this: another creative use of technology that brings his message of funkiness to the masses (ok, we're kind of the niche masses). I actually mostly play salsa bass these days, but still may pick up these grooves to brighten up my day. Who knows, maybe this will give me the kick I need to get back to da funk :) Thanks to Oleg and team for putting this together, it's a nice app. Would love to see an IAP subscription and/or a bulk discount. disappointing: $0.99 for each groove
$365 dollars can buy a lot bass books and videos – even a decent bass.

    ?? worth it
Waited and waited for this to come out and it's better than I expected! Thanks everyone who made it all possible! Share with all your friends!

    Worth the wait!
Not just for bass players. High quality videos, different camera angles, notation for drums and bass, easy to view, repeat and master the content. Gary Willis has taken the medium of the iPhone and iPad and created one of the most relevant and legitimate learning tools available for musicians. Get it! Show more

    GrooveADay- awesome app
GrooveADay is an incredible tool to add to any practice routine, whether you are a bass player, drummer, soloist or even Guitard :) You get multiple camera views of Legendary bassist Gary Willis -- including close ups of his Right Hand and Left Hand (no more squinting at YouTube videos to try and figure out what is going on) and also multiple camera views of monster drummer, Gergo Borlai but that's not the most valuable and useful feature of this app. The true value and most useful component and what makes this so much different and better than other "play along apps" out there is that each groove starts out at a low intensity and builds throughout. Why is this important? Because it accurately models a real world playing situation, so, rather than a static groove, your in the a dynamic, evolving environment, very much like what you get when you are playing with a live band. This means that your able to gain real world experience using a tool that you control. The best analogy I can think of is getting to hone your driving skills by taking laps during the INDY 500 or taking the floor with your favorite NBA team BUT having a magic rewind button. Oh, and there the small matter of playing along with Willis and Borlai... GrooveADay-- buy it. First 3 grooves are free, each new one only costs 0.99 cents. Show more
