What a disaster, who created this app and thought it was okay? I even plugged my sound card in... I rather pull my teeth one by one... Insanely bad!

This app doesn't work at all. There are no settings or anything to try to make it work.

My bass plugged into an audio device…the app doesn’t work….there are no options to select the input that you want to use…maybe good for iPhone, but if you’re thinking about using that on Mac, don’t buy it!!! Show more

I don't know what people are complaining about. This tool for me is on par with the chromatic tuner I had in band in high school. I use a Blue USB microphone, and it works great. Show more

I was hoping to have something on my screen that would work well for a wind instrument. This app, however, is all over the place. When I say this, I mean that I compared it to a Korg CA Chromatic Tuner. The Korg has a display just like this one, but is smooth and accurately IDs the pitch and fixes on the predominant overtone, which is probably where this one is lacking. The needle was just waving around all over the place, compared to the Korg. There are some times that I’d rather have a tuner on my screen (always on top) than on my music stand or elsewhere, but this was just not working for me. I have a whole new appreciation for my free phone app and my $15 tuner! Show more

It just doesn’t indicate the right tune for a violin. Haven’t tested it with other instruments instruments. Doesn’t hurt that it’s free though, so I suppose give it a shot.

No idea how this could average 3 stars even if it cost a buck or two, and especially since it's free. Only basic thing I can think of adding would be to enable hiding, to leave running and accessible without being distracting. But it's not a floating window so it disappears behind other selected apps, easy fix. I dig it. Show more

I have my synthesizer plugged into my Mac via a USB audio interface. Logic Pro says it’s in tune, +- a few cents. This tool often misidentifies the note being played, and shows it as vastly out of tune. Maybe it does better with natural instruments. Show more

Note in tune. I used with an iMac with built in mic to tune a guitar. The readings show pitches as being flat, which, if I tuned to this device, would make my instrument sharp. Not good. Show more

more of a professional’s tuner. seems very accurate and automatic tuning. just gotta know your strings etc.

I brought a guitar for my grandson so he get his mind off video games. They will lose all interest if the guitar is not tuned so I brought this clip on tuner for 8 bucks on amazon but the last two notes b & E were not calibrated correctly. So i found this tuner for free on the app store and it works great. Show more

I’m running this on a Mac Mini though a Logitech camera/mic. It’s plenty sensitive and accurate for my guitar. The response to pitch changes is quick and accurate. Like some other finicky users, it jumped pitch a couple times. I just stop the strings for a moment and it’s fine. It would be nice to have an amplitude meter, too. Show more

It jumps too fast from pitch to pitch to be useable. It seems the programming needs to add a pitch average instead of detecting and reporting every pitch it detects every millisecond. It is probably giving true results, but so fast it is unusable. Perhaps programming a pitch report ginving an average pitch within a range of 0.5, 1, or 2 seconds would vastly improve this app. Show more

Couldn’t get it to work with sound coming in through my audio interface even though that was the default in system settings.

I’m too lazy to grab a Snark or the Boss Tuning Pedal - so I gave this a shot. Yes, it will tune an acoustic guitar from your MacBook … almost. You know what they say about being ‘almost in tune’; Better just be the Drummer. This app work ‘in a pinch’. The interface is great, but don’t expect perfect intonation when tuning. Show more

It seems to be a good app, especially since it’s free, however, it only works wirth the built in mic. I have my guitar running into my iMac via a USB audio interface, and even though that’s set as the defalt input, the app can’t see the sdignal. Show more

I downloaded the app onto my Macbook Pro and when I tried tuning my alto sax, it kept jumping between different pitches that didn’t agree with a different tuner that I had bought from a music store. I used the mic that came with the computer but this app just didn’t work for me. Show more

Fast response accurate and simple easy-to-ready display with Frequency, which I needed as I play a Zentapper. Thanks for writing this app! it worked just fine on my Macbook Air. I use a plug-in microphone (not the Macbook’s built in microphone) and had no issues. Thanks! Five stars. Show more
