    Hope for Problem Readers
Grace Lee has managed to pull off a minor miracle here with this ingenious app! Just when I thought there was no hope for some of my students who were problem readers, the software worked its magic and got them to look at pitches and rhythms in novel ways. Show more

MUST HAVE IN YOUR TOOLBOX ❤️
I’m completely floored! Finally a decent sight reading app every student should have access too. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and fun for the eye, it seems like it has everything I’m looking for…which is so so rare. Literally. I would think “oh cool, but does it have THIS?” And ten seconds later I find it. Happy premium member and soon to be sight reading pro ?? Show more

Feedback after a quick 3 minutes of playing.
Feedback: I just played this app for a few mins. While playing Game Drills and having to find the correct note on the keyboard while seeing the note on the staff, when you turn the phone landscape, it expands the piano keyboard, but the grand staff isn’t fully shown. So when I have to choose the correct Bass Clef note, I’m unable to see which note it wants me to find. You should shrink the grand staff to accommodate it otherwise you can only see the Treble Clef and the very top portion of the Bass Clef. You should also allow us to disable the microphone while using the virtual piano keyboard. There’s no need for a microphone while using that feature. It drains battery faster and it feels a little unsettling knowing that it’s listening when not needed. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max and was using the virtual piano keyboard, if it helps you to determine how to fix this. This is just my initial feedback, will update the review at a later time. 3 stars for now. Show more

    Expected more
Has potential, extremely disappointed that there is only 2 octaves above and below middle C for piano. The reason I purchased was to help my more advanced students learn and memorize the the really low and high notes. There should be more options to set amount of time, arrange created levels etc. Purchasing was very confusing, too many options for buying and subscriptions. Show more

    Very effective learning app!
I use NoteQuest every single day in my piano studio, and encourage parents to purchase for their students. Favorite feature (for both teacher and students) is Note Selector. When students build their own drills for problem areas, they are excited and empowered, rather than frustrated. This is a Must Have Tool for anyone learning to play piano! I highly recommend. Very Easy to use and comprehend
I’m a visual learner and this app is a very simple step-by-step learning tool that does not overwhelm. It is easy to understand and makes learning an instrument and music very enjoyable and fun! Highly recommend! Show more

Just what I’ve been looking for!
This sight reading app is very well thought out! I love the landmark notes & intervallic approach. In the note fit section the attractive excerpts help my students learn to see patterns in the music. I love being able to design my own levels on the note class section! This app fills a gap in my teaching curriculum! Bravo! Show more

    Fantastic!!
This is my new favorite app, recommended by my piano teacher. I love how simple and systematic it is. It drills the notes I need to learn. It’s really helping me improve my speed with note reading with Note Fit. I’m moving through the sight reading levels beginning with Primer. Highly recommend it! Show more

    Great idea, left wanting
I paid for the yearly subscription, but am disappointed. The app won’t recognize the notes on an acoustic, in tune piano, nor a digital. Only the virtual piano is functional. Also, I’m disappointed to find that very few levels are included in the yearly subscription and the rhythm section isn’t even ready yet. Not enough material to justify the cost. The sight reading cards are great, but without a teacher they are useless as well. There’s no feedback to know if the notes and rhythm were played correctly. The app is well made, except for the note recognition feature, and the content is not sufficient. Show more

Best piano teaching app ever !
This app actually teaches you the notes and you can proceed to each new lesson at your own pace. A great way to acquire a new skill while actually playing and learning to read musical notes and the piano keyboard. Congratulations to the developer. You hit a home run on this one !! Show more

Doesn't recognize lower notes on piano
I really like the app and it is working well for notes from middle C up. However from F down I have to hit the note four or five times before the app recognizes it and allows me to proceed. I have tried turning the electric piano volume up to the max and putting the iPad close to the speakers but no improvement seen. Any suggestions welcome. Show more

    The app doesn’t read piano
This app is probably one of the worst apps I’ve ever used I’m sorry I’m being rude but it doesn’t even read the piano it’s just very bad

    Doesn’t work well
It does not give an explanation on what you are supposed to do. It does not pick up sound easily and takes me several tries to get it to work.

An exciting app for note recognition
I really enjoy this app, and find it slightly more appealing than the similar Note Rush app, which I use extensively as a piano teacher. You can purchase an Interval Selector and Note Selector also to tailor for each student. I love how the game mode has thoughtful levels including landmarks, which is so popular in methodology right now and “clicks” better for some students. I also love how game play is on a timer, and students score as many correct answers as possible, as opposed to Note Rush which only reviews each note once per level (We NEED the repetition!). Four stars only because the note B below Middle C is currently pictured as a ledger line, which would be confusing for beginners. I spoke with the developer about this, and I’m looking forward to the update and being able to use this app on a regular basis. Update: The developer has updated this app since my review and corrected the Bass note B, and I am loving it! I no longer use Note Rush because I greatly prefer Note Quest for 2 reasons: (1) the REPETITION as I mentioned before and (2) the Note Selector allows you to SAVE and TITLE levels you’ve created, so I don’t have to start from scratch for every lesson. One feature I hope to see in a future update would be Note Selector with an ability to emphasize notes the student struggles with. EVERYBODY knows Middle C. An algorithm which allows you to “highlight” specific notes to make them appear more frequently would be fantastic. I find when I cut the range to include ONLY the difficult notes, students don’t progress because it’s become too obvious. But they lose valuable time and concentration playing middle C again and again and again. :) Hope this makes sense, hope to see it some day in the app! Show more
