UPDATE: the beauty of this app is its sound. To me it has the sound of vintage drum machines. Musty, dusty and full of character in many ways but it can also be very intense. I use it for what it does, which is sound and feel awesome! Get their other apps too. They’re great! This is one funky drum machine in so many ways. My favorite. Show more

It didn’t have the drum machine samples I was hoping for, and the sample import process is convoluted. Buy it if you want a large assortment of crusty, cheesy, premade drum kits. Show more

I was pretty excited to use this cool little drum box. It’s got some sweet features, MIDI learn, and a ton of presets but...it just doesn’t sound very good. The volume is weird, low, almost muffled - even on imported samples. It just doesn’t sit well in the mix. I can maybe see it as a 2nd kit to add a little color to a beat. Also, as far as I can tell it has NO CHOKE GROUPS. Show more

Perfect little drum machine.. this coming from someone that owns every single ios beat app.. My only complaint is that sometimes it sounds way too low ?

Vatanator is perhaps my favorite drum machine on iOS. Unlike crippled apps such as iMaschine 2, Vatanator comes with an amazing price tag, large sample library, and proper MIDI functionality. This makes the purchase of Vatanator practically a no-brainer. If one programmer can single handedly out-do the efforts of a big company like NI we should all be re-defining our expectations of iOS drum machines. Show more

Sounds are AWSOME but patterns and song mode is terribly implemented and does not recall as saved ....so how can this be available on the App Store?if it does not work .what is the deal here? Christo Show more

Program remains broken. I guess the developer does care care to fix the obvious problems. The pattern sequence or song is not saved at all. User interface for saving a song is confusing, especially when you want to resave your song over existing one. When you load a song, the patterns are not loaded into buttons. You have to click on each pattern and hit load. This needs to be fixed. Show more

Even at version 1.0 the greatness of Vatanator outweighs the current bugs: great stock kits which aren't trying to be the most macho but rather a wide palette of vintage / quirky / warm hits. There's also something vintage-yet-fluid about Most of Vatanator: it's just fun to make music with. In a wide world of iOS drum apps (I have close to every one) this one earns it's place and then some and once it's fine-tuned it'll be among my top tier. Show more
