    Ignore negative reviews!
Update: Bug found. So if I export song from GarageBand iOS, it seems to place the sax into staccato but I want it in legato. Please fix! The work around is to merge the track into a wave format. But not sure if it’s a gb bug or sensual sax bug. However my opinion stands. This is a great app and I hope devs keep supporting it. I really don’t know how this doesn’t have 5 stars. What an AMAZING app! Lovely! Show more

    Do not buy this app
So sad that the developers have not kept up with this app. Totally broken and will not play in daws.

    I need help.
The app is good, I use it in Garageband and in plenty of occasions when I’m recording, it appears and interface that states: “The Audio Plugin stopped do you want to deactivate it or execute it again?” It’s so bothering and the app had a high price for what it offers. When it came the day to export my song, the sound of the Sax does not include the effects I configured in the Garageband, it just sounds one note that last 1 second and without the effects. Please, I need help! Show more

Issues, Looks like this app has not been updated in a long time
-virtual midi does not work at all. It seems like the app does not implement background audio. I could not find a setting to turn on background audio. -The app does not seem to respond to RPN0 for setting the pitch bend range. -it seems to only have two velocities. The high velocity kicks in at the very end of the velocity range. -I can’t get Legato behavior to work correctly from a MIDI controller. Show more

    It fades out
The sound is great, but for some reason, it fades out to nothing when I try use it in GarageBand, and every 3 measures I have to make another sax.

    Waste of my money
Installed app to use with GarageBand. Works really nice until I recorded it. Laid down the track did my edits and saved my project. Rebooted project and lost all the effects i used within the app in the recording I did. Had it on legato with full effect in the app when I recorded it. After reboot lost the effects! Time to submit a refund. I expected better from an app to use with GarageBand. Show more

Decent sound options but no way to save changes
Nice sound with adjustable effects. Too bad there’s no option for creating user presets

    No good with iPhone X!
The app’s aspect ratio is 16x9 to match the iPhone 7/8. For some reason on iPhone X instead of having the black bars on the left and right the interface is expanded from edge to edge cutting off the UI on the top and bottom making it extremely difficult to use. The sounds are great, I would give this 5 stars if it was usable on my phone, but it’s not. Show more

Great sound, but lacking in range.
This app is fantastic, but has one major flaw: the range is way too small. You can move the register around by unlocking it, but I wish there was a way to lock it at a wider range. How am I supposed to play Careless Whisper on repeat over and over without moving the register back and forth?!?! If this fix could be implemented, this would be a flawless app. Show more

    Great Saxophone App!! Must Have!
If you love realism in your Saxophone ? sound, this is it! The Developer is really attentive and actively updates his app. This is really important. But the beauty is in the sound and this app is amazing! Thank you for listening to us and adding ability to change sex knob to Luv knob and settings remain now! Can't wait to have Sensual ? Trumpet! Someday Mr. Developer??? Instabuy! I highly recommend this app. MM4C Show more

    This is 2 legit
I swear, I am a professional saxophonist. No one can tell me otherwise. I just like to sit down, put on a nice background loop and jam with this app. So much fun. Highly recommended. Show more

    This is incredible
I don't use sax in my music. Hell, I don't even like hearing sax, but the demos I watched on Youtube gave me some ideas. The realism is awesome - turn up the "Sex" nob to max, set it to legato, overlap your notes a little, and pow - instant pro sax player at your fingertips. When my buddy heard the mix he was disappointed that "I used loops". When I pointed out Sensual Sax on the app store (though he doesn't use iOS devices), he still couldn't believe I didn't use purchased loops for the sax. It is that awesome! Embertone, please, please, please bring more of your instruments to iOS. As long as they are available as Audio Units like this one, I will find a use for all of them! Show more

This just might be the best sounding app for win controller
With midi it worked out of the box with my EWI 5000 wind controller on both iPad Pro and iPhone 6 Plus using a Bluetooth LE interface for wireless use. This is coming from someone who was convinced the I could only get a great sax sound with the MacBook and the Sax Brothers. Not the same sound but I have spent thousands only to find a $4.99 solution that can fit in my pocket. I am amazed and hope they come out with horn sounds like this. Show more

    I want your sax!
I tried this withan mpe controller. 4 instances as AU plugins in AUM with each its own dedicated midi channel (per note channel) and it sort of worked. Each note receiving cc#2 for pressure /volume control and tried both sex knob with cc#1 active and not active for y axis controls. While the configuration worked it produced clicks and pops and zippering noises while changes in cc1&2 were changed. I don't know if this is asking for more resources than a iPad Pro handles. What makes it more difficult to play with mpe and wind controllers is that each note trigger is only a one shot loop which has no sustain longer than 2-3 seconds. Pitch bends limited to 2 semitones. Triggering from keys has the same result. So, basically it felt more frustrating with an expressive control versus static controller. I think the static controller kind of fits the aesthetic of a sexy Sax sample anyways. That being said what the developers have done with this app and its scripting is still amazing. If you are a jazz guy I don't even know why you would take seriously something with a sex knob without asking to add a digital wind chime machine from the developers. Is this an option? This is an going to have some production value for many and fills a certain niche. I will continue to keep my eye on this developer and whenever I need more sex appeal in my music I know I at least have a big tool in my app drawer for the job. Show more

    Sound is amazing
Indistinguishable from having a sax player in the room, hopefully Embertone will port more of their Kontact sounds to the app store!

    Good stuff...but...
This Sax is quite good, the presentation is awesome and for what it is it's fun and useful. However, on my 6s Plus, it crashes every time I attempt to change any MIDI settings, and on my iPad Air 2 it won't let me load Modstep with it installed. I actually have to delete it for MS to work, and that's just silly since I do most of my work there. I got this with the intention of using its IAA and AU... I was able to load it into Cubasis as IAA. No problems there. Besides that, I'm digging this app's Sax appeal. It's perfect for what I'm doing these days, and I didn't want to spend a lot for some sweet sax sounds. I'm sure the devs will iron out any issues in he near future. When they do this thing will be unstoppable in the realm of 80's atmosphere and dreamy light jazz muzak. Thanks! Show more

    Let's talk about sax
For a first version, it gets five stars. It sounds great, and more importantly, real. I would like a way to shrink or stretch the keyboard though.

    Needs improvement
I'm a jazz guy so I bought this app. It's average in terms of playability and sound. The sax sounds in SampleTank are better, IMO. To the developer: I'm experiencing some latency on an ipad2 Need a volume control. Need to be able to adjust key width. Need to be able to adjust attack and release Virtual midi input doesn't respond to pitch bend and vibrato. Consider IAP'S for different reeds. Show more
