    Subscription Model
Low rating because of a subscription model. The app is quite good and I’d probably pay $20 for it, but the monthly/yearly subscriptions companies seem to be forcing now is a definite NO. Show more

    All in all
I really love this app, it is 100% worth the yearly payment and I don't regret it one bit. The endless creativity just juices my brain to continue to use it for my own music. It's different beats and rhythms allow for a multitude of styles and different feels. I also love the tons of genres you can mess around with. Is there any way to change the tempo per part? If I had my song set for main A and fill A at 170, how do I have either so my later parts become a faster/slower tempo? And or is there a way to change the style during the song to a different genre? Example having half the song set for punk beats then switching to blues or pop, etc? If it is not a function please add it, it would make this app unstoppable for us that like to make songs on the go without our DAWS ʕु•̫͡•ʔु☂? Show more

    Great App!
Fantastic app. I’ve been looking for something simple to use for a non tech guy like me. I’ve had drum machines in the past that were so complicated. This is laid out great. Only thing I wish would be added is a third main ruthenium to use for a bridge so you don’t have to use your verse or choirs rhythm. Other than that great job! Thanks, Paul Show more

    Needs work
4 days into a free trial it stops working and displays a black screen. The support link opens browser with blank url. Actually a bit overpriced too as individual drum levels can't be adjusted. Show more

Good for practice - some bugs
I am using app on an ipad pro. I have been using mostly the jazz beats which are a step up of most drum machines. I have had occasional freezes mostly while trying to edit projects and project just disappear when closing and reopening. It keeps saving a bogus project unprompted. Annoying considering I really like the beats. It would be good to have a way to save project parameters as file for safety not to keep loosing project info. Looking forward to updates. Show more

    University guitar professor recommends!
Fantastic rhythm and natural feel for rehearsing with a metronome that sounds like an ensemble. Totally worth the price. As a full-time university professor of Guitar with jazz and rock, this is a great tool to use for students in your studio with a Bluetooth speaker as well. Show more

    Beat buddy for iPhone
This drum app is fantastic! Super easy to cut and paste the individual drum sequence parts to make a song! The free version lets you learn how to use the app for only a few hours though. But, the subscription is worth it. You can paste up to 15 different drum parts for your song.. Main A&B, 3 different fills for A&B, transition fills for each, stand alone hi-hats, an accent beat, and empty space. You can connect a Bluetooth midi controller to operate a sequence with a trigger for A&B main, transition, fills, and intro/outro with the start and end of the midi controlled jam. There are many genre of styles to choose from and each has several different beats to choose from. The only downside that I can see at this time ( been using less than 24 hours) is the inability to pick a drum kit ( 1 of 6 ) and program your own sequence piece by piece. If you mixed a few attributes of rock drum machine ( like beat making from scratch, EQ & a few others ) with this app… I think you’d have the perfect drum machine. It would actually be better than a beat buddy pedal and a lot cheaper. Give the pro version a try for 7 days, if you don’t like it, cancel. It’s $2.99 a month of you don’t cancel, or $23 a year, and I think there’s a lifetime option for $50. Show more

    Meh… not worth it…
You can’t import your own recordings into this app… then you can’t even use the microphone to record more than 16 bars… hard pass after using the pro version

    Good idea lacks patterns
Needs more Latin and Ballads and Waltz. Nothing with triplets we’re available

    Close to real sound
Needed help with beats and helping train a drummer. Good product.

    Tried demo but…
It doesn’t seem to let you actually play the drum kit like an actual beat machine. All the buttons on the pad just trigger goofy loops of someone else’s beat. Where is the individual kick, oh, and snare etc? pointless if it doesn’t do that Show more

I wish you could just straight up by the program rather than pay money for all eternity for it

    Tutorial doesn’t work
OK as a basic drum machine but no way to see what upgrade would be like. Free version doesn’t allow creation of a project So test of how to set up loop with transition or fills was not possible. Tried to read the tutorial to see the functionality that way, but the tutorial is just a blank page that says settings. Show more

    No tutorial - no help
Just starting out with this app - when selecting the “tutorial” option, nothing loads. Tried to find something via web or YouTube and could t find anything. Makes, what might be a decent app, useless. Bummer Show more

A few things I would fix
The pop acoustic kit has a good sound to it and enough variability in the beats to make the standard version interesting. One thing that’s frustrating is that the tempo resets to 100 every time you switch the beat from say pop 1 to pop 2. Other than that this app seems useful for practice. I wouldn’t be a hardcore user that would buy the premium version to compose in and then export midi. If anything I’d want to see a one time fee to just unlock all of the sounds. Show more

Staying on beat! How this app helped me
It’s easy enough to build a track using the many options available and easy to export to an mp4. I’ve been relying on creating tracks for worship songs I lead. No bugs or ads which is so refreshing! Show more
