Nice app and have used it for a few years. After the latest update I noticed the microphone stays on after closing this app and crashes another tuning app I have on my phone. When I shut this one down and open the other app that also uses the mic I have to go into settings and manually turn the access off in the Privacy settings. Other than that its a great app for tuning. The individual lug tuning is a little sensitive an can wind up chasing your tail but if you get it within a couple of hz your fine. Show more

Does not work.

I can’t figure this thing out. I’ve watched some tutorials and I need much less talk and more “how to” demonstrating how to use this thing. I wish it had presets for different famous drum sounds, such as John Bonham. Or at least give me the pitch readings for resonant and batter heads for his sound. Show more

Don’t waste your money in this app. I prefer by ear. I’m professional drummer for 42 years and always wants to try it a new stuff.

I recently transitioned from electronic kits to acoustic and this app has really helped me understand the science of tuning. You can really hear the difference when the lugs’ frequencies are consistent. There are times I am getting inconsistent readings like others have mentioned. But those instances seem to be one offs and maybe based on phone placement or inconsistent hits. If you gather a few readings, you can quickly see if there’s a random bad reading. It’s like a guitar tuner… if you strum the note differently or too hard or accidentally hit another string, you can sometimes get different results. So just be consistent in your placements and hits. I have been experiencing crashes like others. Also sometimes the app stops reading if I’m bouncing back and forth from other apps (like watching their tutorials on YouTube, which I need to do a lot), and will need to reboot the app. I don’t really appreciate the developer’s defensive responses claiming it’s super stable, it’s clearly not if there are this many users having issues. The UX needs a MAJOR update. The app isn’t very intuitive and is really working against the user and not with the user. Things are hidden or require very cumbersome interactions (like tapping a small right arrow instead of swiping). I understand not all developers are designers but its something that shouldn’t be overlooked. I’d suggest putting yourself in the mindset of users that have never used your app and maybe have a limited knowledge of tuning by frequency. It shouldn’t be required to email your team or search for videos on YouTube to learn how to use or navigate the app. I think with an $8 price tag, users expect a certain amount of polish, and this app is lacking that. All that said I think there’s a ton of potential here and it’s been genuinely fun using this app to tweak my heads in pursuit of the perfect frequency. Show more

Went through the tutorials, then used app only to be denied because it freezes or ceases to function or drops off site completely. I know it’s better than this, have used it before, just not as intently as now. Did all the hoops trying to figure it out, maybe owner will see this and help? I’m disappointed since I know at least once it was the best one out there. Show more

This app is horrible so frustrating and not accurate at all

So easy to use! Both narrative and video instructions for each step. Once I dialed in the resonant heads properly, I couldn’t believe the difference. Best App I’ve ever bought, and creator answers emails! Show more

Thought I was downloading Drum Tune Pro..Real nice making your app name almost identical to a far superior app. This is unintuitive inconsistent trash.If you have to go on an online tutorial hunt just to operate an app for a concept this straightforward, you have an abysmal development failure on your hands. I’ve been drumming since 1987 when I purchased my first kit - a Premier APK power Tom 5 piece- if I had this app then, I could just imagine what those drums would or could have sounded like! I was only 17 and had no clue how to tune a drum ( let alone tuna fish…but I digress) . Through the years I’ve struggled to get a great tone from any of my drums but finally I can with this app!!! I’ve used it on my Pearl Export kit and even on an old CB kit and the results were astounding!!!! This is such a great tool as your ears will always fool you- so with the visuals of accurate frequencies and helpful tutorials and explanations I finally can hear what my drums are supposed to sound like !!!! Thank YOU!!! ******* one slight inconvenience is the app wants to crash every so often so I look forward to any updates that might be coming **** Show more

I forget what I paid for this app. but whatever it was it was not enough! I love experiment with different resonant head frequencies and this app has done wonders in training my ear. Whatever you’re charging, Rob, raise the price for this amazing tool. Ben Harris Atlanta Show more

A little tricky to get the hang of, but so far so good.

You can preset your kit size and it then helps you tune each head (both sides!) exactly to what it needs to be in the correct intervals. Witchcraft

Very easy to use and saves me a lot of time tuning.

I took about 7 years off from playing drums. Got the fever again and got my kit out of storage. I was really struggling with trying to get them tuned after that much time off. It took me roughly a half an hour to get myself accustomed to how the app works and all the ins and outs. An hour later and my entire drum kit was completely tuned. I wish I hadn’t bought this app. I wanted to tune drums to notes, like every other type of instrument tuner makes easy. This app reports frequencies and leaves you to consult a static image page on a help screen to correlate the frequencies reported by the app to musical notes. The graphic representation of notes that is shown is very limited and only shows a single October, with the pointer maxing out at the edge of the graphic when frequencies get higher. Show more

This app is completely unstable and crashes often. When it does work, it gets extremely inconsistent readings. I genuinely don’t understand how this app has any positive reviews and at this point I’m assuming the positive reviews are fake, as the other negative reviews have indicated. This app is a total waste of money and I wish I could get my money back. I will be deleting this poorly developed garbage off of my phone and avoiding this developer like the plague. 0 out of 5 stars. Show more

Recently bought a new snare and I’ve had nothing but problems trying to tune it up. Changed out the heads for new heads and I still have a problem as it just isn’t consistent between each lug by large amounts. My ear tells me a different story in that things are quite close. It’s always off by 40 or 50 between lugs. And on my PDP drum kit I thought it worked better but on this Ludwig snare it’s a horrible nightmare. Don’t really don’t wanna have to buy $100 tunebot to try to compared to but something isn’t steady. Show more

I love the app but it is either not accurate eNough or too accurate. I measured and drew hit points right off each lug the same distance from tHe hoop and i c n hit those marks around 3 times and I get 3 different readings. Show more

I’m using this app another one from the store a tune-bot and a drum dial and I have never heard my drumz sound so good . If only everyone enjoyed hearing them as much as me lol too bad mother cluckers Show more
