The first thing it asks is permission to access all files in home folder, which doesn't make sense to me and I could not give access to that. I would appreciate if they allow to select custom folder to access and do it's job there. I had to uninstall this app since I could not use it. I gave 3 star becase I do not want to reduct the rating for the app for no reason. Show more

This app didn't work. Instead of just deleting duplicates, it deleted every single file! Fortunately, I had a cloud backup -- but I definitely would not recommend this app. Show more

This app will find and show your duplicates, but will not delete them for you unless you upgrade for $4.99.

I work with music files everyday and for years had neglected to weed out duplicates from iTunes. In my version of iTunes there is no option for Find Duplicates as in older versions. So I decided to try TunesMechanic and am I ever happy I did. It removed thousands of duplicates right out of the box freeing up space on my hard drive and lightening the load on my MacBook Pro. I must admit I was a little scared at first as the tiny ball kept spinning and the computer heated up. iTunes was drawing 97% of the CPU’s. I decided to shut down the computer for awhile so I quit TunesMechanic and shut down. I thought I might be in for trouble for doing that, but when I started back up later and opened TunesMechanic it started off right where it left off and finished the job. It’s a great program and very easy to use. Very happy to have it, and, at 5 bucks, you can’t help but give it a try. The negative ratings here should be taken with a grain of salt! I ran to fix error and old links, extensions and files. It couldn't find anyting. I opened and ran to find and fix duplicates in my itunes library and it ran for three days... So I never got it to work. Show more

this has been pretty much, the first help ive found, that doenst want to snag one into a subscription. and Iam extremly frustrated with the Music app, as all I have done is make it worse. Unless you only have maybe a couple hundred songs this app is junk. Heated up my mac like a toaster then crashed. No progresss bar, no error handling so it wouldnt crash. UGhhh There was an error. Music got an error: AppleEvent timed out. Show more

Make sure you have all the music in your iTunes folder in you users folder. If you have drop music from other drives they appear in your itunes but maynot have been copied to that folder. When you run the program it will not remove those files. Therefore you think the program is not working. Show more

I wish this app showed more inforamation like, how long its going to take. It just says ‘’Please wait’’ and i dont know how long to keep my computer on.

I can't even figure out how to install this, even though the clone at Apple Care said I could before he put me on hold for 25 minutes. Apple Music is yet another "upgrade" that decreases functionality. My favorite album, which I bought through iTunes, is GONE, and I don't see a way to buy it. The HELP instructions don't match what is on the screen. My playlists are GONE. I was hoping this program would restrore iTunes to my computer, which the Apple Store "upgraded" to a system software I didn't want. But it doesn't. I HATE UPGRADES, and I don't know why we put up with them. Show more

Kindly refund my account back!!! I have paid and downlaoded this application to remove all duplicates, unfortunately the application has deleted 90% of my libary even the origianl tracks. This is un accptable from apple to haev such suless applciation in their store. Show more

Horrible. Contacted support over a week ago...not a word. Rip off.

This doesn't work at all, and there is no support. I got an email from who I think is the (bad) developer and nothing was resolved or refunded. You will never see this money again, and the problem you have with your duplicate files will still be there. Show more

I have run this twice--it quickly finds all the duplicates and then tells me it has deleted them and to check this in iTunes. When I do, they are all still there. Put a tech request in and am waiting to hear, but not a promising start Show more

This way this just cleaned out my itunes and arranged it was marvelous. Money well spent

I have been using TunesMechanic for over a year now, It has worked flawlessly and quickly. I recently updated this mac to Catalina which has raised some issues with permissions. So...Works great as advertised unless you are using the beta OS Catalina. Show more
